Title: Anybody got $95?
Description: My text bill...
v4Elliott - May 19, 2006 02:55 PM (GMT)
I borrowed a friends phone to text and she just received the bill. I sent 947 texts and she had no text plan.
Any body else literally paying for their Elliott obsession right about now??
:console:
SFCDADDY - May 19, 2006 02:56 PM (GMT)
There is help for this problem and there are people you CAN talk to about this, ya know??? OMG!!! :bounce:
rockermanross - May 19, 2006 02:57 PM (GMT)
OMG! Why didn't you add the $2.99 plan before texting??? :o
v4Elliott - May 19, 2006 03:00 PM (GMT)
It wasn't my phone! I asked her at the last minute to borrow it so that I could help save Elliott...literally 15 minutes before Elvis night. Then an hour before this Tuesday's performance.
I don't mind paying though. It was for Elliott. He can pay me back by way of his success.

Good answer!!! Whoa...I was worried about you for a minute...LOL
Anyone know how to change color and fonts on this site to stay???
rockermanross - May 19, 2006 03:04 PM (GMT)
Man, that sucks! I used two of my friend's phones as well but I added the $2.99 plan to both their phones. I'll be cancelling it next week.
Lets do all that we can to get Elliott to where he needs to be.
Outofmymind - May 19, 2006 03:08 PM (GMT)
The first time i upgraded my plan i was naive to think that they would give me unlimited messages the first month. But they don't do that to current customers. I got 600 messages over the limit. It cost me $36 more. :(
jensolo5 - May 19, 2006 03:13 PM (GMT)
LMAO! This post is funny. This is totally something I would have done. I can just see yo know feeling all panicked and just wanting to text NO MATTER WHAT. I can see you grabbing the phone and saying "just let me do this???" and not even thinking about the repercussions.
That's a great story of Elliott impulses!
cfans - May 19, 2006 03:35 PM (GMT)
I will be paying $90 for the texts I sent on my blackberry. My company pays for my monthly service and I couldn't add a texting plan. But every penny is worth it. Come to think of it, I'm going to have to start an Elliott budget. What with the expenses of driving to Richmond last week (especially gas :o ), the cost of supplies (t-shirt, hat, marking pens, car window paint, etc., etc.), the cost of the tour tickets, and future costs for CDs and concert appearances whereever, I'm going to have to make some adjustments to my spending. :P
desperada - May 19, 2006 03:36 PM (GMT)
$95? That's a lot of texting. Good on you.
I hate cell phones with a passion. So what did I do? GoPhone! I'm too embarrassed to tell anyone why I *really* got it. All my friends and family think I just decided to finally join the '90s.
Lene - May 19, 2006 03:37 PM (GMT)
Well before the 2.99 plan was being spread around the E-train, I was texting like mad. My sister called me up and she's like "What are you doing with your cellphone?! You owe Cingular 54 bucks!"
She then upgraded the plan to 1000 text messages so 54 bucks is the only thing I have to pay back. It was worth it, most definately :)
rockermanross - May 19, 2006 03:38 PM (GMT)
LOL!
Hold onto your gophone. Don't throw it away. It may come in real handy one day.

I got a GoPhone too. I dragged my husband to WalMart a week ago and stood at the GoPhone counter waiting for help. My husband was embarrassed. He said only people that can't pass a credit check get these types of phones. He thought everyone was looking at us waiting to see our food stamps fall out of our pockets.

Danggggggg ... I have not even looked at my telephone bill yet ... ... I gotta run
KDDG - May 19, 2006 05:36 PM (GMT)
You guys! What about me??!!! I asked my husband three weeks about my text plan & he kept saying it was unlimited. I told him about the 2.99 thing. Well, I got curious because some people were saying they had not been charged. But mine were .10/ message! So, my text bill alone was over 200.00 for the past 3 weeks. That does not even count the 870 that I sent this past Tuesday. My husband is going to kill me, but I blame him for not checking. I've been telling to add that damn plan for three weeks! When that bill comes, I'm hiding it!

$30.00 for my go-phone, $30.00 more to fund it, $20.00 more for a tee-shirt, plus the cost of one days wages. I called in sick to work last monday when my phone arrived and the SIM card was defective - I had to go to the cingular store to fix it instead of go to work...
Tis - okay  Knowing that E is happy now - PRICELESS

I'm glad I got the unlimited plan. I'm texting this week to keep McBLEEP from winning.

:rotfl: Let us know if it works! For some strange reason, I doubt that will make a difference to him.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who invested some real dollars here. I forgot about my Yaminions t-shirt that I had shipped. And who can put a price on family time. Good thing they love me unconditionally...do they... :o
I wouldn't change a thing! (well there is one thing...kinda personal though)

I will let you kow if it works....I wasn't even counting the donations, the t-shirt, well... I think that's it. Money well spent I would say

I admire all of you tremendously! But damn, it really pisses me off that cingular is making a ton of money off this show! And the people watching are the ones having to shell out their hard earned money while Simon sits back and counts his 35 million a year! GRRRRR!
WoW I could never say that on the AI boards, I'd be banned instantly! lol!
