What would you do with 1 billion dollars in your posession?

I'd do some purely selfish things first like quit my job, get a maid service to come in and clean my house. Hire Elliott for a private concert for close friends and family. Travel with my husband and kids. :)

Then I'd give money to family and friends. Could produce E's album myself if I had that kind of cash, too. :D

Then I'd want to see what good I could do with the money. The causes closest to my heart are those related to animals and children. I'd love to create an animal sanctuary where I could keep rescued animals. Provide low cost vaccination and spaying clinics in my area. I'd also donate money to causes like SCAN (stop child abuse now), Children's Hospital here in Richmond, Children's Mircacle Network. Plenty of good causes out there.

Lastly, I'd donate a ton of money to liberal political candidates b/c I'm not happy with the current political process in this country and I'd like to work to change that.

Divest myself of everything I owned, except a home, e.g. divest myself of caretaking/business responsibilities!

Hire or rent any thing or any service I need

Set up trusts for my family

Start a foundation to buy upblighted areas & redo w/ affordable housing

Other than the obvious(no debt for my family) I'd try to erradicate the hunger epidemic in our nation...then on to the world.

Anywho, I'd invest some dollars for down the road, get weekly massages and pedicures (nope, not manicures, not picky on the fingernails) buy a bigger house, have a complete home gym, travel the world, and give some away.

First, I would build a "family compound" for all of my family so that we wouldn't have to be spread out all over the state.

Then, in the spirit of "Random Acts of Kindness", i would just anonymously help people that I see in need. People who are really trying hard to help themselves, but are struggling. A house, a car, whatever they needed that would make the biggest impact on their lives.

AFter thinking about this for a while, I'm asking for another billion. A billion doesn't go very far these days! :rolleyes:

First thing I would do is quit my job. I LOVE my job most days, and my boss is sensational...but if I had a billion dollars, I could think of a LOT better places to be than Rolla, Missouri!

Second thing...MOVE! I love the Traverse City. Michigan area...always used to dream of living in Portland, Oregon or Boston, Massachusetts...maybe I'll get homes in all three places, eh?

Third, I would tell my older daughter that if she wants to be included in my will, that she can pick one of my three homes to live near with her husband and my darling granddaughters. :lol:

And then I'll try and do some good things...cancer research, AIDS research, diabetes research (I am borderline diabetic myself)...they can each have a nice chunk of my change.

And then I want front row seats and backstage passes to Elliott's first solo concert. How much do you think that'll cost me?

Finally, my boss always told us that if she ever won the Lotto, she would give each of us $10,000...so I would give her $10,000. She's an amazingly terrific boss, after all!

If I were a billionaire, I will never work again and devote my time to charity work.

If I were a billionaire, I would get a limo and a chaueffer. The limo would contain a never-ending supply of M & M's.

Then I would go to Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valenica and kick everyone out of the park. That way I can ride X all day long and not have to wait in line. I would take 50 Efans with me so that we can finally meet each other.

In the evening I would take my 50 Efriends to Rodeo Drive so we can buy $2000 dresses and suits complete with $500 Jimmy Choo sandals. The girls would have their nails done and have little diamonds shaped into the letter "E" embedded into them.

For dinner we would all fly to Vegas and eat at the buffet at the Wynn hotel. I would decide what goes into the buffet menu. Don't worry, I like eating and I am not picky. There will be champagne for everyone.

Then we would all go to Studio 54 at the MGM and close it off to the public. Now since 50 people in a club is too small, the rest of the ETrain can come in. Elliott will come too, and everyone gets to dance with him. If Elliott gets tired, we will dance for him.

And then all my money would have been spent so I would go back to my ordinary life in my ordinary town doing ordinary things.

first, pay off the $10,000 i owe in student loans.

and then i'd still have lots left over.


so i'd finally do the traveling i've always dreamed of doing.


i'd buy a huge house in North Carolina and move there.

and i'd hire Elliott to be my pool boy. :P

I would get a pedicure once and week and have someone come in and change my sheets everyday. I would also buy a house somewhere by the ocean(where the water is clear) and have a pool that looks out over the water. I think I would also be very involved in charity work since I would most certainly not be working!!!!!!!

- I would put some of the money into money market accounts and investments for the future

- I would buy a nice house of my own

- I would help out my family

- I would hire a maid service and a gardening/landscape service so my new house and yard always looks great

- I would travel a lot. I would explore Europe, go to Australia, etc.'

I would donate a lot of money to organizations that help needy children and I would support research into auto-immune diseases--e.g., lupus, MS, rheumatoid arthrits, etc.--these diseases primarily occur in women and can be disabling and even fatal. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of good treatment options and there's a lot the doctors still do not understand.

As for the fun, indulgent stuff, well, I would move somewhere with a mountain and ocean view--guess that means Santa Barbara--get some animals, buy a Nissan 350Z and a Jeep Wrangler.
