I'm going to watch Da Vinci Code soon and MI3 too! What about you guys?

Well I haven't seen any recent movies in the theater, I rent/buy a lot of DVD's though. I was going to see MI3 yesterday, but my plans changed last minute! Make sure to post your review on it, I am curious!

I watch LOTS of movies. I like more indie type movies, but I do watch mainstream movies too. Don't think I am going to watch MI3, but prob. the DaVinci Code.
So be sure to let us know your thoughts

i actually can't wait to see the DaVinci code! i kept saying to myself that i had to read the book before i saw the movie, but either i never had enough time, or i wrapped up my free time in something else...like oh, I don't know...Elliott Yamin...and never got the chance. I hate knowing what's going to happen or have preconceived images in mind when i read a book. Movies, not so much. That's why I wanted to read the book first. Oh well.

I heard earlier today that the initial reactions to the Da Vinci Code aren't good. I heard from a number of different people that you may enjoy it a hell of a lot more if you haven't read the book. Don't know how much stock I'd put in that though, I guess you have to see it to know if these people are right or not.

Ok....so this isn't what you guys were talking about but here it goes anyway. I saw American Dreamz a week or so ago. It was SO funny. If you even like American Idol a smidge (which I'm sure you all do) I recommend going to see it! If it is still in theathers...I heard a rumor it wasn't there anymore.

MI3 is okay. Action-wise, it's pretty good. But story-wise, kinda...lame! :D
I think if you have not read the book, Da Vinci Code is pretty good! Kinda like any Harry Potter movie! I am sorry to say this: I love Harry Potter books, but I just can't stand the movies!

Man, I totally forgot about that movie! I really want to see it, and I totally believe you when you say that it was funny!

I saw The DaVinci Code on Friday. Compared to the book, I thought it was just okay. There were several parts that changed from the original story, and some parts were left out, which I suppose was all for the better because then the movie would have been another hour longer! I wish the movie had delved a little deeper into the controversy, sometimes it was a bit bland!

I am planning on seeing MI3, American Dreamz and The Da Vinci code in the next few weeks. Thanks for your comments everyone!
Anybody know when the new Superman Movie comes out (Superman 4 or 5, I'm not sure)
mars_mg - May 21, 2006 08:09 AM (GMT)
Superman Returns (it's completely unrelated to the previous Superman movies) will be on June 30, i think... followed by Pirates of the Caribbean in the following week.
I recently watched Poseidon and The Da Vinci Code. i liked both of them. I'm glad I didn't read the book again prior to watching; because it would be a distraction to my viewing experience. It is what it is...
Poseidon is action-packed and exciting. i highly recommend it. i was on the edge of my seat for the most part.

I saw The DaVinci Code this weekend. I LOVED the book, and normally when I'm so into a book, I don't even bother with the movie, knowing it will most likely be a let down. The movie wasn't that bad though. It was pretty good actually. I still recommend the book though.

I saw an American Haunting, it was actually really good. (I'm usually a much tougher movie grader.) I didn't get to see the first about 15 minutes of the film because the film skipped and couldn't be replayed over, but we ended up getting free film tickets for it. But what I did see was actually pretty good.

I agree on The DaVinci Code, if you have read the book the movie may seems a little flat to you. Over all though I enjoyed it. Sir Ian McKellen stole every scene he was in. I disagree with the critics on Tom Hanks though. I thought he portrayed Robert Langdon exactly as I envisioned him. Going to see X-Men 3 next and Over the Hedge.

When it comes to the theatre I want to see The Break Up.

Well I just got back from seeing Akeelah and the Bee, it was one of the discount movies today. It was a cute movie, predictable but good.
DawnlikesElliott - May 30, 2006 10:20 PM (GMT)
I saw Over the Hedge this weekend. It was very funny. I was worried that it wasn't going to be as funny as the commercials made it look. I was not dissapointed. I was laughing throughout the whole movie.

I just watched "The Breakup" over the weekend with my girlfriend. From the trailers, I thought it be be quite funny. Saldy, it turned into more of a sentimental movie, close to a drama with occassional humor. It was ok. On the plus side, I liked seeing Chicago, because I live in Chicago. GO WINDY CITY!
