Title: What Does Empowerment Mean To You?

Empowerment is the capacity to bring forth an intrinsic motivation to accomplish whatever dreams or passions that you may wish to attain in life. People who are empowered can inspire themselves as well as others to make the most of everyday by challenging the world at large. Imagine how terrible it would be if we did not feel empowered about something that really matters to us? There is a perpetual debate that is relatable to all fields of discipline: What is the meaning of life? Philosophy, Anthropology, History, Art, and many others all examine different solutions/answers to this question. However, is it not at the most basic level that one needs to feel motivated to accomplish a given goal or task? The Worlds strongest empires like that of Rome and others in History found a nation that empowered itself to become strong and expand its influence. When looking at this from individual by individual basis, it is the intrinsic caring for wanting to live your life to its full potential that leads to internal empowerment, and produces visibly positive results. The world is a complex place with many different opinions and beliefs that clash with one another. Why does that clash occur? It is because each side feels empowered to speak up and have their voice heard on an issue of great importance to them. Empowerment leads to change and change can lead to a better life for the individual as well as the society as a whole as History can be exemplary of. Empowerment changes people, changes lives, and can even change the world.

Discussion? Thoughts? Anyone? lol

I do want to discuss this, however, I have little time tonight so will return tomorrow to see if I can add something other than the observation that no one can empower anoother. We are all born free with all the power at our disposal that we will ever need. This is true whether we know it or not because it is a FACT of nature. Our lifeform is individuated. Therefore, motive power is self-generated and self-governed, this is one of the facts of our lifeform. I think we start at the wrong place in any discussion of power or empowerment. Empowerment comes from strengthening our bodies and our minds to be able to respond appropriately to life and to events with full awareness of the viable options; and without fear.
I did not have long to write this so forgive me if I am unclear on any point.
:)

LOL! I enjoy writing and discussing ideologies that impact how we live. I truly believe life would be boring if were all of the same opinion. I love to talk lol.

I wrote this thread the other night while people on this board were squabbling about something. I thought maybe it would lure them away from the train wreck (no pun intended E-train) they were creating amongst themselves. I love Elliott's voice and his energy. His gifts are empowering me to strengthen my own gifts. I mean we are ripples. And his dynamic ripples are effecting my sluggish ones and vice versa. We all affect one another.

I guess this is a two person discussion so will bow out gracefully. I think soulthatrocks has an interesting take on a term without really understanding it. It sounds good though.

Does anyone else have opinions on what empowerment means to them?

I like to play with Elliott's name. I use the initial E as my take off point. And actually what also prompted this thread aside from my reasons stated in my above post, I had been playing the E word game. E - mpowerment came to me ( I am selling E t-shirts with my E words on them)
