I've been wondering about this. Does anyone know if Elliott is strictly a singer, an interpretor of other people's songs? Or does he also write and play music?

When he finally gets a chance to get into the studio and record, will there be any Yamin original music?

I wondered about this. In fact, given his very meticulous use of language I was hoping he could focus some of the energy he'll be forced to spend away from a studio this year into writing songs. That way, in a year, when he is about tor record, they could possibly use his songs. So, defeinitely. I think E has it in him to be a songwriter as well AND SHOULD.

I kinda wonder the same thing myself. Elliott seems like a pretty intelligent guy from what I noticed in his interviews, so I'd say he's probably a songwriter as well as a gifted singer. It's best for him to work on his own material rather than rely on others to give him songs to sing. To really express himself fully is to write his own songs (and hopefully with the right producer he can co-produce the songs). He's a rapper also so being a lyrist isn't something out the norm for him. And since Donny Hatahway and Stevie Wonder wrote and produced most of their music, I'm sure Elliott will follow in the same footsteps.

My gut feeling is that he's dabbled in writing music. He said he's always started things with great intentions and never quite finished one project before starting another. He's so passionate about his music. I think he has it in him, to be honest.
