Hey guys. Tell me what you think of this posting that showed up on the AI boards in Elliott's folder. You don't even have to bother reading the entire boring thing to get the point here.

Quoting IDOLME2
"My husband and I have been educated and active in the entertainment field most of our lives - in music, dance, drama - popular and classic, stage, film and TV, both as a performers, teachers and in production - so we have a lot of experience in what it takes to go through the exhilarating, exhausting, sometimes heartbreaking process of becoming a successful performer.

I have been lurking on these boards for a long time, with great interest - however, I just registered and this is my first post. I just couldn't help myself...... I was incredibly moved by the posts I have read and felt compelled to let you all know what a fantastic group of devoted and passionate followers you are of these incredibly talented young performers. We - my husband and I - have also been watching the Idols since their first show, and have been voting our fingers off for them!

Here is what is bothering me: lately I have been noticing - especially since Chris was voted off, and now with Elliot gone - a negative force of energy - almost a rage that is unfortunately being directed toward those who have no control whatsoever over the show production values or voting results, and because of this negativity you are depriving these final two amazing kids the support they so deserve.

Then I think: "How would YOU feel if you were in the final 12 and saw some of the unpleasant comments posted about you and your close family of contestants?"

I too feel greatly saddened that ANY of these remarkable talents have to leave - but that is what any competition is all about! I see that many of you are so frustrated because of the rumors going around that cause you to believe that the logistics of the show are being compromised or corrupted.....after working in the Entertainment Industry for so many years - and especially Hollywood Film and Television .....trust me.....a show like American Idol would NEVER have lasted this long, have such a HUGE following, with GIANT corporations sponsoring and celebrities supporting them if they were not operating above board.

Do you really think that a man with a reputation like Clive Davis would stay connected to a fraudulent operation? Some of you think "THEY" want a particular idol to win because of the bucks it is going to bring them in recording revenue. You have to realize that "THEY" can take any one of the idol contestants and "cash in" on their talent in a heartbeat!

Then I think: "How would YOU feel if you were in the final 12 and heard all these rumors dragging down and depressing their fans......rumors that you PERSONALLY knew were just that - RUMORS??"

Look at the awesome comraderie between Chris, Taylor and Elliot - what a wonderful thing - they are like brothers! And they treat Kat with all the respect a beautiful and talented younger sister deserves. Sure they are hard competitors - but they have been living together, sharing ideas and helping each other with their performances all through this competition! Elliot himself has said how much he owed to both Taylor and Chris for helping him improve his stage presence and movements. Look at the true affection those three wonderful kids showed for each other when Taylor did "Taking It To The Streets" last Result Night and kept including Kay and Elliot and sharing the spotlight with them.....that shows me that a deep affection and bond exists between them all.....

Then I think: "How would Chris and Elliot, or Paris or Ace - or ANY of them feel if they saw so many of you refusing to watch or vote anymore for their musical brothers and sisters?" Look in the audience at all of the former idols that are there to stand up and cheer the finalists on....

THEN I THINK: "How would YOU feel, if YOU cared so much for these dear friends and co-performers, and just because YOU didn't make it to the final night your devoted fans and voting public decided that if YOU couldn't win....well then NOBODY gets to win".....wouldn't YOU feel really miserable that YOU were the cause of all that anger........when all YOU really felt was love and appreciation for all of them and all of you?"

I wish that each and every one of you that posts and/or reads these boards....especially those of you who have nothing nice to say about any contestant but the one you like...... could just ONE time....have such an experience as the American Idols have had for all these months.....maybe then you would not hesitate for a SECOND to get out there next Tuesday night and scream and yell and cheer and vote......for Taylor or for Kat or for BOTH......and I PROMISE........ you'll LOVE yourself for it in the morning."

Personally, I think it's a terrific post. I'm not sure I agree with every line, but I do agree with the general feel of it. I've always felt that it was possible to support and love your favorite without resorting to bashing someone else. And as mad as I am that Elliott was eliminated, I'm so happy and grateful that he had this opportunity to share his awesome talent with us through American Idol.

I guess I was getting at that, although unlikely, it sounds like it could be the Mcparents.

i'm sure this person is posting in response to most of the anger towards Kat but i have to say...she brings it on herself...the spoiled Brat Pack and its legions that have done nothing but hate on elliott and yet when we resond we get banned. well no more..i'm glad Loth created this site where we can finally say what we truly feel about the mediocrity that is the AI5 Finale

Um.. This person had a good point. Now I feel kind of bad. There has always been a lot of bashing on the AI boards. But I agree lately it has gone out of control. There is definately some unnecessary negitivity. But still there is no way that I can ever bring myself to cheer for McPhee. I, for one, wanted to bitch about her for a long time but never did it on the AI board. But once I was out of there, I couldn't help it. That's just how a lot of people feel about her but maybe some of us are being too harsh.

I agree with the meaning, but the whole post has this uppity, preachy tone about it.

ETA You could almost put some sappy music to it and do a funny monologue.

Edited: I don't like all the preachiness and sanctimony of the AI boards as of late. That's all I'm going to say.
