Title: Anyone Read Clay Aiken's Memoir?

I just finished it. I was not a fan of his before. But I am impressed with his wisdom and experiences.

Definately an old soul! And he truly deserves his success.

Simon once said Clay was the smartest contestant they ever had and probably would ever have. No. I haven't read his book. But I rooted for him.

Highly recommend it. He went through some serious stuff as a kid.

When he was 3, his mother took him and a few belongings and left his birth father.

He was teased in school. But he overcame it all. I admire Clay so much more now.

We should think of names for E's memoir!

I didn't read it, not much of a Clay fan, sure he can sing well, but I never would buy any of his CD's,..just not my cup of tea.

I received Clay's book as a gift....and I let it sit for months.

When I finally read it, I was all the more impressed with him as a person.

He sees his music as a vehicle to raise money and awareness about autism...

Clay was just a few college credits away from earning his degree in Special Education before he went on AI2. If I recall, he was strongly encouraged to try out for AI by the family of an autistic child that Clay was working with.

I sense that our Elliott will tear a page from Clay's "playbook" to perhaps start a foundation or two for causes he wants to raise money and awareness for.

I might read this now. When artists write memoirs they are usually very enthralling and reveal a great deal of personal obstacles unknown to the public. I definitely will go get this book. I love reading about people.

I've read his book twice. I personally love it. But, I am also a big Clay fan, so I think that might make me like it a little more than I would was I not.
But still, in my opinion, it is very good.

I've never actually read it, but I hear it's really good. Maybe I will someday!

Never read it, but I love Clay a ton!

I think I should :P

If you love Clay, you definitely should. Any Clay fan would just love it, partially because it's his story, but also because it's got quite a bit of his humor in it.
