Title: Harry Potter Series!!

LifeUp - May 20, 2006 03:50 AM (GMT)
I hope none of you are thinking you're too old for Harry Potter. I love the series, can't wait for the final book. Favourite book was book 4 and 6 i think!

miyagimayday - May 20, 2006 03:54 AM (GMT)
I love Harry Potter!!! Books though, not movies!!
My favorite is definitely the 5th one!!!
I love the 6th book too.
But my "moment" was ruined by my dad.
I got the book on the first day it was out. I was just starting to read it when my dad came in and screamed out who died (He saw it on the news)!
Gezzz, thanks dad! Almost ruined the book for me!

rainshine - May 20, 2006 04:17 AM (GMT)
I'm a total Potterhead! The 6th book is my favorite, too. (But the person who died might not really be dead! See blankisnotdead.com, replace "blank" with the person's name. :D)

I'm already 41 y.o., but I'm a big Harry Potter fan. My favorite among the books is The Goblet of Fire. I have probably read them more than 5 times each, except for The Order of the Phoenix coz Sirius died :( . The only book I have read only once is The Half-blood Prince. Too sad for me...I can't believe DD is gone...

smileygurl80 - May 20, 2006 05:04 AM (GMT)
ME! I'm a HP fan. :) Looking forward to the last one. I can't believe it's gonna be over soon.

omg, COUNT ME IN!!!! :cheerleader:

I LOVE HARRY POTTER!!!

That's why I sometimes called MMFL, Mad-Eye Moody's Mood for Love!!! :rotfl:

Most of my favorite British actors are there (Ken Branagh, Jason Isaacs, Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman & David Thewlis). Good God, I even developed a huge crush on Stan Ianevsky! :D

My fave book is GOF, but NO, D is not dead!! I cried buckets when I read the 6th book but when I started analyzing the story, I thought he can't be dead!!!

Can't wait for the OotP movie next year!!!! :D

LOL. That Mad-Eye's Mood For Love is really funny!

elliottsbabe - May 20, 2006 06:16 AM (GMT)
Ooooof course I read Harry Potter. Favorite book was 4 and 6 too. I can't believe there is only one more book left !

SheilaHI - May 20, 2006 08:36 AM (GMT)
Love Harry Potter, but haven't read any of the books. I'm waiting for the movies to be made first. If I read the books first I will hate the movies, cuz when I read I really have a vivid imagination and visualize everything in great detail. I wouldn't want to be disappointed. For instance , with the Narnia movie, it really wasn't that great to me, because when I read the books years ago, it was a very powerful experience. The movie did not match up to the original experience. Also, being a long time Star Wars fan , I see a lot of Star Wars in the HP movies. Quidditch on broomsticks reminds me of the speeder bike chase in ROTJ. The dark lord, Darth Vader etc... All great stories have the same basic ideals... good vs. evil, wise elderly mentor, young fresh-faced innocent ready to save the day...that's what makes a great story!

lothlorien - May 20, 2006 08:39 AM (GMT)
i love harry potter. my favorite is prisoner of azkaban.

spunkable - May 20, 2006 09:01 AM (GMT)
I LOVE Harry Potter! I'm can't wait for the seventh and final book! :woot: Compared to the books, the movies are somewhat dissapointing though. Especially the fourth movie! That Dumbledore was completely out of character, I wonder if the scriptwriters have actually read all the books. <_< The fifth and sixth books are so sad, I hate it when someone dies. :( But I'm so glad I refused to let anyone spoil the ending for me, that would have ruined the whole book.

Really? I hope not, because I really loved that character! I was actually crying when I read that he died. :(

hunnysue - May 20, 2006 01:17 PM (GMT)
i told myself i wouldn't get into harry potter

i worked in an elementary school library when the potter craze began...

kept saying i would never read a potter book...

one day.. there was nothing to do.. and the first book was on my desk...

so i read it. and got hooked!!

azkaban is my favorite.. but i havent read the latest. i became disabled in 2003 and can't read a book normally. hubby got me the audio book but i just dont have time with a 4 year old running around...

hubby makes fun of me. but he hasn't read them. he made fun of me for liking burger king onion rings... rolled his eyes at my obsession with dawsons creek... both of which he loves now...

so who knows? :)

Totally agree with you!!!
The fourth movie's Dumbledore is just....BAD!!!! :poke:
I saw an interview of the actor saying that he played the way he played is because that's how he interpreted the character!!! HELLO?? are we reading the same book?!

Actually someone died in the 4th book too! You forgot to mention :P
I guess since Cedric is a minor character, so the feeling isn't that strong! At least to me

I love the whole 5th book except the ending where S.B. .....(sobbing).

Janizzle - May 20, 2006 08:29 PM (GMT)
Yay Harry Potter lovers! I'm sooo into Harry Potter. I got into reading the books maybe 2 years ago, really late...but my favorite book by far is Goblet of Fire, but I love Order of the Phoenix too! I've only read HBP once...I have to read it again...

Yes, I hate Michael Gambon. I thought he was a horrible DD in PoA, but in GoF he quadrupled the horribleness (lol)!

Can't wait for the next movie and final book!

Nostalgia - May 20, 2006 08:33 PM (GMT)
The books are pretty much my life - the sixth, while it had a good plot, feel a bit rushed and "fanfiction-y" if you know what I mean. I miss DD - but I still love Snape, and insist he is good. It's a conspiracy, people - DD doesn't fear death - it was planned. ;)

Oh darn...poor Cedric, I didn't mean to leave him out! :( It's just that the other two deaths had a bigger impact on me, although I still feel so sad about Cedric.

 He interpreted it that way? Are you freakin' kidding me? Okay, he now has to read all six books THREE times each before he can even think about playing DD in the next movie!

Oh, and aren't Harry and Ginger just perfect for each other? Definitely better than Harry and Cho. And Ron and Hermoine FINALLY get together, it sure took them long enough. <_<

I like Harry Potter too!!! :discuss:

My favorite one is Order of the Phoenix! Can't wait for the movie! :D

As far as the movies, I did not like the third or fourth one! Since when did they walk around without robes?!?!? They need a new director! I can't wait for the last book! Who do you guys think R.A.B is? I think it's a new character that will be introduced in the last book!

I didn't like Ginny in the 2nd book. But I grew to love her in the 5th and 6th ones!
I think she and Harry are cute together!! Much better than Harry and Cho...
Regarding Ron and H, I like H and Krum better! Hee hee! But R and H are cool too! I hate it in the 4th movie where they made it feels like Harry and Hermione are couples though!

I agree. <_<

I read the books in anticipation of the movie because I thought the movie was going to be great. I read the book and loved it; then, I saw the movie and just ending up poking fun at it the whole time. Nothing could beat the book.

That's why I plan on just seeing "The DaVinci Code" without reading the book. I might as well not ruin the book. I'll see the movie, think it's really great, then read the book and realize what a piece of crap it is. (Depending on if it does the book justice or not)

Sigh... for avid readers of the books, the fourth movie sure had loads of annoying bits in it. Hermoine likes Ron, for goodness sake, not Harry! And DD is not supposed to be scary! Arghh..

OMG! I love Harry Potter!

My favourite is P.O.A. and HBP.

I wasn't sad really when SB died. I actually didn't like his character at all.

I love Lupin though! And I love Severus Snape. (I'm a Snapehead!) I'm praying that his issues will be resolved or I will cry.

If I am J.K.R. I would :poke: that actor's eyes out! haha!

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. I've read books 1-5 at least five times. I've only read the sixth one twice. I bawled my eyes out the first time I read the part in book 5 where Sirius died. I can't wait for the seventh book and the Order of the Phoenix movie. I love Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Tonks! :) :cheerleader:

DawnlikesElliott - May 21, 2006 05:24 PM (GMT)
ok....so I love Harry Potter. I was one of those kids who wasn't "allowed" to read them. LOL. I love both the books and the movies. My only problem with the movies would be the last two movies and the crappy DD. I agree with all of you on that. The books have DD as a loving character who is like a father figure to Harry. In the movies....he is cold and kind of a jerk who doesn't seem to care.

The OOTP is probably my least favorite book....but I am SO excited for the movie. I really hope they keep the part with the George and Fred storming out of the school in the movie...cause that is my favorite part of the book.

59 year old Potter fan. Read the first 2 books in 5 days. Was at my sisters house and my brother-in-law said "Well if I'd had know how to shut her up, I would have bought her books a long time ago". :rotfl:

The 3rd HP movie was sooo horrible, it was completely wrong in so many ways, but the 4th had tons of changes too but was still way more entertaining.

Definitely hate Hermione in the movies---why does she always wear pink and what happened to the bushy hair?? And get away from Harry---you're supposed to like Ron!

Yes, I ship R/Hr. Shipping is so silly, lol.

Love Love Love Harry Potter, although I've yet to read the 6th one. So far, Goblet is my favorite.

I actually read the first four out loud to my son when he was younger! He loved them so much, that when given the choice to play with his friends, or have me read a chapter or two, he always chose the read! My daughter, who's older, read them on her own and she's also a big fan.

I'm also a Potter fan. It's been a while since I read the books, but since I am a Itunes whore, I listen to Pottercast by the-leaky-cauldron.org. I love it. Very funny (makes me wonder if there's enough material for an Elliott podcast, hehe).
