Anyone watching Rock Star this season? I can't wait. My friend tried out for it, but he didn't make the cut. He plans on trying out for Idol next time. God, I hope they have talent on there and the right person wins.

Rockstar INXS was amazing. I think honestly while there voices might not hit the caliber, they are way more talented then most AI people. On INXS they had to play instruments, know how to write songs, organize recording, etc.

I watched last season's Rock Star and enjoyed it. Didn't Chris Daughtry try out for that one and didn't make Top 50? Looking forward to Supernova's Search this year.

I agree about the talent. When Jordis sang "The Man Who Sold The World", I got goosebumps. And, I love what Marty did with "Hit Me Baby One More Time".

I loved Jordis. I hope she has a CD in the works. Anyone know?

when does it start? Next week? I heard its coming on on Wednesdays also,together with So you think you can dance and America got talent.
They are definately competing for viewers if they all air on the same day and same time, I find that a little strange

I didn't get to watch all of Rockstar INXS but what I did, I liked it. I liked Marty. I can't wait till Wednesday. Just hope it doesn't come on at the same time as SYTYCD.

In this early stage of Rockstar, I like Josh Logan and the wild chick from South Africa who got the encore. Josh Logan was in a band prior to the show and has a CD on CDbaby - Josh Logan & Nobody's Business; also listed on garageband.com here

Josh is excellent. Not sure about his style fitting in with The Band yet. But if he was on AI I think he would win.

I don't think Lukas was that good. I mean come on "Rebel Yell" is a staple song, and he did no where close as good as the original.

Dilana was awesome though. My second favourite performance of Lithium. The first on still belongs to Peter Evrard.

Yes, Dilana... I think she's a great fit for them. Her performance was great again, but her voice was just kind of okay tonight.

I love Josh (one of my favs.) but don't think he's exactly what they are looking for; have to wait and see. At least he's getting more exposure from the show.

The girl who played guitar tonight - I though she was good.... I can't get the website up for some reason, and I don't recall her name.

This is the first time I'm watching Rockstar, I must admit it's a lot different than AI, especially the talent there.

Does anyone know how they get the songs featured on the show? If the producers can pick any songs they want, somebody there seems to have a penchant for Coldplay (my favorite band). There are some surprises in the song list like Franz Ferdinand also. I think these bands genres of music are more towards alternative. Am I right?

Magni is getting better. I really liked his performance this week. I can't decide who my favorite is now. I really like Dilana, Storm, Toby & Phil. I love Josh, but he just doesn't belong on this show or with Supernova.

Bittersweet Symphony was originally done by the Rolling Stones. When The Verve did it, and in my opinion, a better version (I LOVE IT), the Stones sued The Verve.

i know what you mean! she always gets the good songs, but she's great! i hate to say this but maybe she's the "Chris Daughtry" in Supernova, but i dont want her to leave, she's my favorite!

tonight was fun, i didnt like Zayra , she looked like a Power Ranger and her vocals were awful, my fav of the night Dilana, Toby, Magni, Storm and Dana

My favorites tonight were Dilana, Dana & Ryan. It was a good show overall. I will have to listen to the performances again because I had to keep the sound down kinda low. It was hard to hear some of them.

The Patrice/Dave thing was funny. I don't like her anyway. Once again, I really love Josh but he just doesn't fit. I'd love to hear a solo project from him or a cd from his band though. Maybe Zayra will go home instead.

Yes, I am now a Rockstar:Supernova fan and this is my first time to follow this show.

My bet is Magni (I can't pronounce/spell/remember his lastname, heh heh) I loved his "Plush" but I was a bit disappointed with "Heroes". I miss the energy.

My second favorite is Toby. Loved his voice but I think Daughtry is the better stage performer.

I agree with most of you, Josh is in the wrong show. He will do great in AI. We like him because of his soulful style reminiscent of Elliott. :)

As for the ladies, I like Dana and Storm. Jez, Storm just did great with "Anything" but I feel that Supernova will choose a male frontman.

Hi - I was happy to see a Rockstar thread here... I found out there was such a thing fairly recently from Merrr (Yaminoys) and that I can get Rockstar where I live too on the same Asian channel as AI was on. Like AI, I get to see the show the evening after. Thanks merrr! :)
Looking forward to seeing this week's show (that most of you've all seen already), in a few hours time.

My favs on the show so far are :

Dilana - who I think is amazing. She really has a unique style. I don't think she is being pimped or "getting the right songs" - she is picking them cleverly and putting her own unique style into them. She's really good. (I also find her interesting 'cos I think she's from the same place I grew up - Zimbabwe, or one of its neighbouring countries), and

Josh - whose voice I really love. I guess his style is more 'my style' - more soulful, R&B than rock and I also thought he should have been on AI. I hope he stays in the competition for a long time 'cos I'm enjoying him. Cute too!

I really can't stand that Zayra girl. I think she's useless.
For a very different reason, I dislike Lucas too. He IS good, but he is unrealistically full of himself and is going to fall flat on his smug little face when he gets voted out cos there is no way he is going to be fronting that group...

I caught the last 30 minutes of the show.

Dilana was great as usual. I can easily see her fronting Supernova.

I love Josh (my favorite) but he's not what they are looking for.

I do not like Storm, because she looks like she's trying too hard to have the "rocker image," and it's not working for me.

Phil and Ryan are not strong enough to me. Not a good fit. Phil looks like a pushover rocker wannabe, and Ryan trying too hard.

Magni was pretty good last night and I was surprised that they weren't too impressed with his performance.

Jill. Great voice, but she's too sexy for them. Don't think she will win the spot.

I missed the rest of them, but wish I had seen Toby perform. Zayre? ughh send her packing already. Lucas is just too weird.
