hey i thought i would make one bout this i love Harry Potter, but the movies arent as great, lets talk bout how they cut stuff out of them and mess them up.......

i loved the 4th book, but the movie left way to much out, like quiditch and the funny twin parts, and tha animagus stuff, and alot more, lets all discuss it

Quidditch wasn't in the fourth book because of the Triwizzard tournament.

They cut out half of the book, though, i agree. Grrrrr. :(

Like when they were supposed to show Mrs. Rita skeeter as a beatle.

If the movie remained true to the whole book, the movies would be 5 or 6 hours each lol. That is the unfortunate thing as novels are turned into screenplays because they have to sacrifice certain portions of the text to allot a reasonable time for a major blockbuster movie. I've read all of the books and seen the movies so far. It is a very creative/imaginative series. I thought each book has become more mature along with the characters and may even have a little of societal satire.

If you consider the movies as seperate from the books, and don't compare the two, the movies are reallly very good. You should just love them for what they are, and love the books for what they are..

Exactly! My friend now hates Harry Potter because they "ruined" the fourth movie..she doesn't even want to read the books. :blink:
Anyway, I thought they did a good job with the fourth movie considering the fact that the plot in fourth book is really complicated. If they were going to have every single detail in the movie, we would be in that theater for the whole day lol

That's true, lol. I certaintly wouldn't want to be stuck in a theater all day. :D

I'd probably wait for the DVD versions.

LOL yeah they'd have to have something like 5 intermissions!! That would NOT be a movie people would see more than once, and most probably wouldn't even see it that many! lol

It would probably take 8 years to make, by which time the cast would be all old and their looks would change throughout the movie, back and fourth. creepy. :)

But the producers could disguise this fault by saying that all the characters were hit with a permanant age charm or something else to cover it up. They have their ways. :)

And I do agree that it's they're very good when you look at them separately from the books. Comparing is just not fair, because I don't think any movie version would satisfy everybody.

I think they did a pretty good job with each one, and get better with each one, too.

of my obsessions, along with the books and movies.

I love the books, and i can't wait for the 7th.
The 6th one made me cry, if thats not lame.
and the 4th movie, was the best one yet i think.
although i like all of them. Even though they always
leave things out. :angry: Like in the 2nd year they
left out the Ghost Party with Sr. Nick. that made me mad.


but from rumor on Rita Cosby's site, i found that the 5th movie,
which was one of my favorites of all the books besides 4th and 6th,
is set to come out next July. (2007)

Me too! Also, i went to Rita Cosby's site because i was watching
the Elliott video on there and there was an interview with JK Rowling.
She said that at least 2 characters are going to die in the 7th book.
She even said it could be harry. :( but shes not saying for sure.
So its probably not going to be, but we will have to see.

I personally have a feeling that it will be Ron :( or a Weasly at least (hopes it's Percy :P). And Voldemort's going to die..he has to :P

definently, If Ron died, or any of the Weasley's for that matter i'd

Is anyone else kinda bugged by the fact that Elliott's eyes are described as Green in the books to match his mother's, but they are obviously blue in the movies?

Daniel was going to wear contacts in the movie, but I think he was allergic to them so he can't wear them.

In that case, I'm glad they didn't change his eye color. I wouldn't want to see him on screen with an allergic reaction infecting his eyes, spreading all over the place. Gross. :rocker:

i love how through the whole 5th book they go though like this little
adventure together, and go all those weird places in the Ministry and
fight Evil together. ahah :P .i don't know but i love the 5th book, and i
can't wait to see how they do with the movie! I'm sure it will be great.

Yes, me too! The fifth book is my favprite, followed by the sixth and the foiurth.
I love the plot in fifth book, it's really interesting. I think they will do a good job portryaing this book on the screen.

I saw a picture of the actress that plays Umbridge and in my opinion she is perfect for the role (I'm takling about appearance). She is just like I imagined her to be.
I can't wait to see the Marauders :D

The 7/07/07 release date is pure speculation, it would be awesome but I am not marking anything on my calendar until then.

I am really interested in the movie OotP- Umbridge should be awesome because Imelda Stauton is the best casting choice since Richard Harris was initally cast for Dumbledore. But we'll see. The movies to date have been a disaster.
