Description: I can't play myfox videos

Scurvous - July 3, 2006 02:10 AM (GMT)
Does anyone know what codec I might need to watch the videos on Myfox? Every time someone post a link to those stories, the image comes up but it won't play. It looks like it's loading but nothing ever happens.

Do you have a sample link?

Here is one that was in a post today. And here is an old one that I had saved until I could figure this out. I can play every other type of video that gets linked here, just not the Myfox stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I'm pretty sure I have the latest Macromedia flash player, so I'm at a loss.

Yep, Flash Player 8 - On2 VP6 codec (I looked it up...lol.)

If it's only myFoxLA giving you problems, I am guessing they have an error in their Flash detection scheme; it says you don't have the latest and will not play the movie even if you DO have the latest player. There are also the usual things like browser, permissions, etc, that could affect playback.

With Flash and Shockwave, an uninstall and reinstall usually fixes most problems. Here is the Flash troubleshooting page, where you'll likely find answers.

Thanks a lot. I'll give it a try.
