Would it be at all possible to shuffle the Dates/Venues around so they are in some kind of order?

This request is a huge undertaking, but the benefit to etrainstation members to use the Date/Venue threads as a gathering place to meet and possibly coordinate events makes it worthwhile.

However, with missing dates, and the current concert list in alphabetical, rather than date sequence, it is difficult to get the maximum benefit from this sub-forum and all of its pinned threads.

ok. i have personally dealt with rearranging the topics on date venues so that they follow a chronological order (even going as far as unpinning all the topics and pinning them back on one by one) but it seems that the arrangement of the topics on the different forum categories (even the pinned ones) are governed by each one's personal settings on the sorting options (you should find this towards the bottom of the page, it says

Showing 25 of 50 topics sorted by |last post date| in |ascending order| from |the last 30 days| (this is the default setting)

Thus, however which way we rearrange the topics, pin them and repin them in order, the topic list will appear on your pc screens according to how this sorting arrangement is set-up. Your best bet at rearranging the topic list so that it appears in chronological order, is thus to change the sort settings so that they are sorted by "topic start date" and hitting the Go! button.

Here's something to consider, if proper sorting is a priority issue.

First, the topic start date ascending sort filter brings it close, however late adds like Worcester and other venues not yet pinned (like my Sept 9th: Denver) will go to the bottom and out of proper order.

It will take a moderator's edit, but if the topic date format is changed to M-DD (i.e., 7-29: Richmond, VA) and sort filters selected are:

Showing 25 of 50 topics sorted by |topic title| in |ascending order|

then the results will be as desired, with "American Idol Tour" pinned topic as first entry, and regardless of any venues entered later. It's only the first week of the tour, so something to think about! Thank you!

i was considering that option fabb, but it was too time-consuming to edit all the topic titles. heehee. i will get to that when i have the time to really sit down and tweak at it.

in the meantime though, the above quick-fix i detailed should suffice. :)

Is it also possible to perhaps get the thread called, "American Idol Tour Schedule" - Complete Listing," hard-coded to be the first thread in the Date/Venue sub-forum?

If anyone is going to a concert that isn't listed in the Date/Venue section, can individuals add the date & location?

Once a concert date has come and gone, can it be closed and moved below so fellow concert attendees have a chance to look back at it, but it isn't shuffled in a sort option?

Please consider Fabb's suggestion regarding the Date/Venue thread "coding."
