Title: Posting Forum Rules

idol_observer - July 9, 2006 11:02 PM (GMT)
In my opinion, the Forum Rules are extremely difficult to find. Maybe they could be pinned to each section of the forum, or maybe a section could be created JUST for the Forum Rules.

I think if at least the Rules For Posting (#11) was pinned, it might cut down on the confusion oover the difference between bashing and opinion. There's always going to be a difference of opinion over when the line has been crossed, but I think if the Guidelines were more easily accessable, it would help.

Possibly I am overlooking the obvious, but I always forget where to find them. I found them last time in tiny little letters at the very top of the page, but maybe they are posted elsewhere and I just haven't located them yet.

Just a suggestion.

Thanks

I personally like where "Guidelines" is - globally, on every single page of the forum on the top left. I think pinned forum guidelines are redundant and add to the clutter on the categories and forums within those categories. The only thing that may be important is allowing Guidelines to open in a new window.

It takes skill and social astuteness to make the distinction between bashing and opinion - a requirement I'm sure this forum has for its administration. They can in turn effectively define that for us, members. Words can help but more importantly, by example.

Nicely stated!

Since the catagories already have a pinned topic GENERAL FORUM RULES/GUIDELINES, maybe you could just include a link to the full set of Guidelines.
