Title: The Paranormal
Description: what do you all think?

DJ babblefish - July 24, 2006 12:30 PM (GMT)
Hey guys!

This morning when I got home from work I turned on Good Morning America and they were doing a segment on "Indigo Children". Kids who are born within the last 10 years who have psychic abilities. They are often diagnosed with ADD or ADHD. ... here is something i found about them
QUOTE

Indigo Children are the current generation being born today and most of those who are 8 years old or younger. They are different. They have very unique characteristics that set them apart from previous generations of children. The name itself indicates the Life Color they carry in their auras and is indicative of the Third Eye Chakra, which represents intuition and psychic ability. These are the children who are often rebellious to authority, nonconformist, extremely emotionally and sometimes physically sensitive or fragile, highly talented or academically gifted and often metaphysically gifted as well, usually intuitive, very often labeled ADD, either very empathic and compassionate OR very cold and callous, and are wise beyond their years. Does this sound like yourself or your child?

Indigos have come into this world with difficult challenges to overcome. Their extreme levels of sensitivity are hard to understand and appreciate by parents who don't share this trait. Their giftedness is unusual in such high numbers. Their nonconformity to systems and to discipline will make it difficult to get through their childhood years and perhaps even their adult years. It is also what will help them accomplish big goals such as changing the educational system, for instance. Being an Indigo won't be easy for any of them, but it foretells a mission. The Indigo Children are the ones who have come to raise the vibration of our planet! These are the primary ones who will bring us the enlightenment to ascend.

There's a very good chance your child is an Indigo if he/she was born after 1992. About 85% or higher of children born in '92 or later, 90% born in '94 or after and 95% or more born now (some even say 99%) are Indigo Children! Does this mean you aren't one if you were born prior to 1992? No! I've heard reports that they started coming in the 80s, but that means coming in larger numbers. I believe there have been Indigos born in every year, but perhaps not in high enough percentages to notice their presence and see what makes them so unique. So can you be a 24 yr old Indigo or a 50 year old one? Yes!

now... I was told by a psychic once that I have a blue aura... and one told me that i have a white aura (i think that white means pure.. but i never investigated and i have no idea what blue means). I have also been told that i "have the gift" but push it away because it scares me.. which is true.. it does scare me.. A LOT! .. but maybe i really am omniscent.. like my title implies. :rotfl:
Anyways, now since seeing this segment this morning I'm very interested in this psychic stuff once again (I wasn't for a while).

haha.. so with out saying that I'm crazy.. I wanted to know how many etrainers are into this kind of thing?
if you are.. what do you do? what do you like? A lot of people do the horoscope thing.. i know we have talked about it a bit in the chat.
I know there is so much out there about this stuff.. I go back and forth on it. I find truth to some of it and other things I find it bit out there. EVEN for me.. and im pretty open minded.

so... tell me guys!!

I guess my daughter could be considered as an Indigo Child (she was born in 1993). She is academically gifted--she was always #1 since preschool, was the class valedictorian in elementary and she's in the top 5 in her class now in high school. I also noticed that she's kinda "cold" and not as compassionate as I would like her to be. And she's definitely rebellious to authority--my authority. She's very stubborn.

DJ babblefish - July 24, 2006 01:40 PM (GMT)
Emmy-- do you believe in this stuff?

oosh - July 24, 2006 06:11 PM (GMT)
I have been a student of "paranormal" for decades. We have so many capabilities we are ignorant of. Science & religion tend to want to foist their take on reality on us on a daily basis.

samhiguchi - July 24, 2006 07:48 PM (GMT)
I believe! (did u see my ghost?) It is a fact for my family at least, for many generations the women in particular have seen things that they "shouldn't" and a priest was always called, generation after generation. When it got really bad for my daughter, I refused to call a priest, I always sort of figured they wanted something, it got dangerous for a while, almost intranced a female figure was telling her to come with her, she needed to show her something, she finally realized what was happening when she got to the top of the stairs and ran into her room and hid under the covers, once she was going down the stairs and saw the same woman at the bottom of the stairs, needless to say she ended up freaking out and falling the rest of the way down the stairs. I guess in my family I know that this paranormal ability exsists in my sister, my niece, myself my daughter and I worry because there is a new granddaughter on the way (this doesn't count the previous generations) my mother always said it was because she was the 7th child of a 7th child, but it exsisted before.
I honestly believe it is an undeveloped ability, that we are afraid to develop further.....but I still have to say it is freaky for things to happen after they have popped into your head....once several years ago, I was doing something at the computer and just stopped because there in my head was an almost video playing of a woman and her child being murdered by the husband and then tied together and dumped in a lake or water........about a week later I was super freaked when they found the body of a mother and her child tied together in the water, that was always my most vivid one. But it still kind of freaks you out when you get people standing on or near the road and you are driving!
I don't know much about aura's, but I do believe in the paranormal. I don't usually write to much about it, I have twice tried and twice weird things have happened, once the new computer that I wrote an email on asking for help just died, completely poof! then one other time, a picture jumped off the wall and smashed to a thousand pieces (it had hung securely in it's spot for year before)
Ok so now that I have said more than a sentence, I will sit back and wait for my laptop to explode or the roof to fall in! :hide:

I can't remember the exact quote now or the person to quote but he/she said "everything that will be invented has been invented" (or something similar). I feel the same way about psychic phenomonia. We do not know the full powers of the human brain and this is probably a good thing for now. I try to keep an open mind without going overboard.......

meep, i think i am too old to fall under that category /oo\ But
I was diagnosed with ADD when i was around 7, i was made to take lots of different medicines since none of them seemed to fix it, i guess. ^ ^; I was born as an accident at a bad time to my parents who were both working minamum wage jobs. i lived in a house with only two rooms in it lol, and we were very poor. My younger sister teased me lots, even though she was younger, and used to hit me. I'd run and hide and cry alot of days. throughout school, it was really hard, ^ ^; the kids were merciless, and seemed to gravitate towards me to make fun and it really really hurt. It also , though, seemed to hurt really bad when someone esle was being teased. ^ ^;
This went on until i graduated from high school and hid from people in general, lol. except for from my brother who yells and makes fun of me alot :/ It really hurts and makes me cry, but it never seems to bother anyone else in my family, they think i m much too sensative and cant seem to figure out why im not like them :/. I wish i was. I also cant stand it when animals, bugs or even plants get hurt or destroyed lol ^^; It makes me cry.
I've seen ghosts all my life too, and was able to speak to one for a while. I also get alot of dream messages, alot of deja vu, and have dreams with things that happen later lol. ive also felt pain that had no reason for me to have it, but turned out cause a friend of mines wasnt feeling well. I would also have ideas that he then had, and i'd even finish sentances lol. I also always get lots of feelings like i dont belong here. And when i was a kid, id feel alot older than i was, and understood alot of stuff that no one else seemed to get.
But-! im not special . lol.

aww this is awful how your family treats you! that is first but you are not alone there are so many people that can SEE spirits feel and experience what you have. You are gifted . I am sorry that your family thinks you are odd and picks on you. What do they mean be like them? What does that mean to them? You are YOU and that should be enough for them to love you unconditionally.
You need to learn more about your gift and teach others it is not a bad thing.
There is so much out there that we don't know and because there is NO PROOF people think it's crazy.
I have also experienced things in my life. I don't know who posted this but one lady said she saw a lady get killed and kids I can't remember correctly.
I also saw before it happened three children get murdered their throats slashed. The next day it was all over the news three children were killed their throats slashed. I hate having this what do you do with it? can't stop it.
Just know you are not alone ! I am sorry that you have to deal with this crap in your life. You are loved here!

Samhiguchi.. i see that you are back on the thread so I'm assuming that everthing was ok and no computer blew up.

what do you guys think of past lives?
I was told that I was a school teacher. and then something about running somewhere.. it was very unclear. I was with a bunch of people and we were running from something. I used to have this reoccuring dream when I was a kid that my family was living in Oklahoma in the 1800's and my family and i were running from a tornado. I asked but he (the psychic.. my friends father) was unable to clarify.
I apparently have an old soul.. which means im more peaceful and understanding. From my understanding (tell me if im wrong) as your soul gets older you are more peaceful. My fiances soul is older than mine and he is much better at seeing the good things in people than i am..

I have dreams about my grandparents all the time. Well, it's not really dreams because I feel aware but its definitely when I'm in bed and "sleeping". I don't know the name what this kind of dreaming is. Anyways, I have them a lot and I'm very aware that I'm speaking to their ghosts. We are usually in a place that is unfamiliar to me.. but they seem to know everyone. It scares me so I don't welcome it and they seem to know it. My grandma asked me if she is bad to me which i intrepretted to mean "do i scare you" i told her yes.. and she looked really broken hearted and said "dont be".
I have these"dreams" about once a month.
what are these called? anyone know?

samhiguchi - July 25, 2006 03:30 PM (GMT)
No, my computer didn't blow up, luckily! Maybe because I only talked about it and wasn't asking anyone for help!

From what I understand they say that very young children can remember their past lives! I can remember one of mine, because it was something I dreamed almost everynight when I was little, it involved fire, seemed like a whole city on fire and running from it, time period seemed like early 1900's. I can still remember waking up screaming.

My mother died before my youngest niece was born (dad remarried and moved out of the family house, my brother and his wife and my sister stayed) when they had my niece, my mother had been gone for 5 years. Well just after she was born they had a ceiling leak in my mom's bedroom, Dannielle now 11 has refused to let them paint that spot since she was old enough to talk, her reason, because when she lays in bed at night my mother appears to her and talks to her from that spot! She has been saying that since she was a baby!

Does it feel like you are floating when you visit you grandparents? I have heard of people who leave their bodies at night, forget what you call it. Some people remember it seeing themselves and others. I did it once when I was about 5, had a very traumatic experience and I can remember laying on the sidewalk and crying, but I don't remember it as me crying, but me watching myself cry from above myself......to some people I am sure that sounds really bizarre!

aw, thank you WeloveUElliott . ^ ^
*lots of hugs*
im sorry you have to see those sorts of things :(
I do try to tell my parents about the things i see or belive in, but they get all silent and blushy, sort of like they are embarassed :/. Whenever people talk about super natureral things, they tend to scoff at it and say there is no such thing. (especially my mom ) the only way they would aknowledge if someone was special like that, was if they were talking about my autistic brother. He gets a lot of love and support, which is nice, but i sort of wish i hadnt been forgotten sometimes ^ ^;
I get alot of visions or dreams about people ive never met, they are always different, but its just before they die. Like a dream about a guy who was taken to the er after a car accident, or the bald skinny man who was shot at an office building, or the Asian Indian girl with some kind of illness, i wasnt sure what.
Or a young Chinsese man who had been poisoned. Its always just before they die, and i alway see it from their persepective. I dont know why they want me to see this or what they want me to do. I tell them im very sorry and i feel bad about it though ^ ^; but i never know or find out who they are.
At night, i hear alot of my name being called or randome pieces of sentances or swear words, lol.

katirpet - July 26, 2006 04:09 AM (GMT)
My granddaughter was born in 1989 and I do feel that she resembles these characteristics. She is ADD and has problems focusing on anything that does not interest her. When she was 3 years old she mentioned to us that she had been in a hospital before she was born. She had died there. She did explain how she had died but we could not understand everything that she was saying. At another time she talked about her husband or boyfriend and told us how they had planned to be together in this life. She came back to this life first. (If she eventually marries a younger man then we will certainly sit up and take notice.)
She talked about a grandmother with a strange name.
At this point she remembers nothing of these conversations. However she does have vivid dreams of relatives that have passed and things they have said to her. She is artistic and a deep thinker. I love to have conversations with her because in a lot of ways she is wise beyond her years........and in a lot of ways she is a normal teenager.

Elliottyael-

that is so crazy.I have a friend who hears her name at night.. or sometimes just a bunch of heavy breathing. have you ever asked a psychic about your visions before? If not you might want to look into it. I have found that whenever I sat down with a medium they made everything make sense and I had a huge sense of clarity. I reccommend that to you.

Katirpet- That's so cool about your grand daughter. yesterday on Good Morning America they did a segment on an 11 year old boy, who, when he was 4 had a fascination with airplanes. He seemed to know all of the names of these WWII planes. His parents were puzzled by it because they had never talked about planes before.. and no one in the family was really into WW2. It get very interesting when he pointed to a particular plane and said "that's how i died". This really took the parents back and started to question him more. They got the name of the young man who died in the war. when asked who killed him he replied, "the Japanese".. with a roll of the eyes and a sigh. They sound the mans sister and everything that the little boy was saying was accurate.
This past life is so interesting.

To those of you with the whole Indigo Child thing-- have you looked into this more?

If you are really interesting in this stuff.. GMA is running these segments everyday... check it out!

I am exhausted from lack of sleep, so I promised myself I would sleep this morning, but after reading this thread just before I tried to sleep, I found myself lying here with "Indigo children" running through my mind. I don't believe there is for one single second an "Indigo children" phenomonon. The difference is not in the children, but in the adults who surround and embrace the children of today!
The only difference in my niece, daughter, myself, mother, grandmother and generations before, is that the poor priest isn't called out as much to take care of possessed children! People have become spiritually awakened, they are more intuned to the afterlife or previous life and allow children to embrace those thoughts and feelings. In my time you learned to not say anything, for risk of being hauled off to church or your friends thinking you were a nut, you didn't want to risk a lable! If you were younger, you were simply hushed, it was put off as a nightmare! Now days when children tell a story of a previous life they are allowed to explore and embrace! When I was younger I remember stories of my aunt, my mother and my sister being hauled off to the church, I remember my "nightmares" being passed off, I remember learning quickly that you just didn't say anything, because heaven knows that your parents, as much as they loved you didn't want you to be different than anyone else, even though they were there themselves once. Society was different, you just didn't open up about such things
There is no phenomonia, just an awakening of a society that is willing to open up and expolre the possibility. It is the parents who should be applauded, not the children, they are no different than you or me!
Now just chalk up the spelling and rambling up to lack of sleep, I am going to try and sleep now, hopefully this thread will stay out of my head!

Wow, I'm glad that someone started a thread about Metaphysics and the field of Parapsychology. This is a realm of human potential that is feared and often hostile toward simply because it seems too "crazy" to be considered "real". I believe experience with Psychic ability to connections to the Paranormal itself derive from an individual who is open-minded, connected, and very spiritual in nature. If you ever take a Personality Inventory and score a high percentage for "Hypersensitivy", you more than likely have either a latent Psychic capacity or already have found certain "things" you can do, see, or know that others can not. It seems like people with active Psychic ability are the people who extend beyond what we know as the physical realm to possibly another whole dimension of comprehension that is simply "asleep". Sometimes I wonder if we ALL have these abilities, but the fear/hostility towards them has caused an immense suppression of talents such as: Telepathy, Precognition, Postcognition, Telekinesis, Psychometry, and the host of other defined terms and noted capacities of the human minds potential. When you think about it, this is a frightening prospect that another person could read our mind or see what will happen to us in the future, but it could very well be this fear that stifles Psychic development and thus greater awareness of our reality including the existence of spirits that may or may not be kind as well.

You see, I tend to think of all of us as a Radio. Most people tune into one station to hear the same thing as the majority of everyone else. However, there are people who can tune into "other" Radio stations who have tapped into frequencies most other people can not. I believe that above comparison is exactly what human Psychic potential is about. If you can throw away pre-concieved notions/judgement, fear of the unknown, and connect with your greatest spirituality, then you may be able to hear other "Radio stations" most can not. I know my Grandma has predicted very precise things about people that one could never know until they happened. Perhaps based on this thread we can see a genetic/hereditary link as well because it is a trait/gift that goes from generation to generation. My own dad many times knows/sees particular numbers that have significance later (unfortunately not the lottery lol). It is VERY enthralling.

Elliotyael, it sounds like what you are describing is Empathy, or basically the ability to understand what people are going through on a very powerful level. There is a term called an "Empath", for a person who is able to feel another persons emotion even if they are hiding it away or you may even be far away from them. That is a wonderful gift, and you can employ your understanding of emotion to help people heal because you know exactly what they are going through. It is wonderful to have a strong intuition because you can learn to channel positive energy and emotion in order to be the most creative, productive, and happy person that you could possibly be.

Well, those are some of my remarks from the realm of Metaphysics/Parapsychology. I hope I've provided some insight into my thoughts and beliefs in so far as these issues go and look forward to further discussion on this thread.

:goodpost: thank you so much soulmusicrocks.

I love to learn about metaphysics and parapsychology.
I totally agree with the radio thing. That's the trouble with me. I'm open to it until I start to feel/see things and then I get scared. It's not so much of the "people are going to think im crazy" but more.. I don't want anything to happen to me. I don't know if anything would.. it's just the fear of the unknown that spooks me.

You seem to know a lot about this topic. Do you study it? What is your "gift"?

I would not say I really study it per se, but I have done a lot of independent research and been witness to many interesting things in life that seem unexplainable. I try to meditate everyday and keep a close/strong belief in God and also the open mind that things exist beyond just our normal "sight". I believe it is that open-minded and connected attitude that will free you from being afraid and to realize you should not be fearful of Psychic potential. In so far as myself, I tend to have moments of precognition and deja vu (past life memories maybe?). I am studying Psychology right now and this field of Parapsychology really fascinates me. It seems like pop culture tends to demonize this field though. I mean look at the film "Carrie" about the girl with Telekinetic ability or Final Destination with the different peoples morbid precognitions. They all tend to focus on a very frightning and negative view of Psychic potential that reinforces fear within people and subsequently oppresses even someone who has a gift. I admit, sometimes it is "creepy" or "scary", but that is why you emphasize positive thinking and strong spirituality.

Emmy-- do you believe in this stuff?

Yes, I do, DJ.

You know, I've been thinking about it since you started this thread and I realized that I might be an Indigo child myself.

When I was still in college, my boyfriend whom I had been with for 4 years, cheated on me. I knew it even though I didn't have any proof of his unfaithfulness. I mean, there were no signs, at all, that he was cheating on me. I didn't know why but I had this very strange feeling that whenever I tried to call him on the phone and their line was busy, I felt that he was talking with another girl. I even told him about it and he said that his younger sister was probably using the phone during the time that I was calling him. But that strange feeling kept on nagging me. One time, even though I knew he wasn't home, I called their house and talked with his younger sister (I was very close to her). I told his sister about the strange feeling I had and guess what? his sister told me that there was another girl who was always calling my boyfriend and she was, in fact, already his girlfriend. Naturally, I broke up with that two-timing, sleazy sonof@&^+(h!

Also, when I was in my 20's, I would instantly know the first time I meet someone that we will be friends for life. And I would also instantly know the first time I meet a guy if he will court me or if we will become boyfriend/girlfriend. I remember, when I first met my daughter's father, I knew right away that he will become my boyfriend. And I was right. We had a kid, but we never got married. We were together for 4 years.

With regard to experiences with ghosts, spirits, etc.--I had my share of those, too. The first time I saw a ghost was when I was 11 years old. It was in my elementary school. I saw a white lady standing in front of the blackboard, near the door of our classroom. She had long black hair and her right eye was way bigger than the left eye. She was wearing a long flowing white nightgown. I told my classmates about it and some of them said that during WWII, our school was invaded by Japanese soldiers who raped and killed the nuns (it was a Catholic school). And since then, I have had similar experiences with the unknown. It's really creepy, but I just try to stay calm, say a prayer and rebuke them.

Ive never been able to speak to a psycic before O O
although even if i had the oppurtuntity , id probably be really scaredy pants , lol  i used to get really scared that people on the steet were reading my thoughts, and the idea that someone could read what i was thinking really bugged me, hehe, and im afraid i would feel that again.
But i havent heard of that ability before, wow ^ ^
If i do have it though, that means theres something really important i have to do with it. And i couldnt sleep last night, thinking of what it could be lol. And how will i know what path to take to make sure i do this thing ^ ^;;
and after watching the movie Lady in The Water, it made me wonder even more what it could be *ponder till i explode*.
