Title: The Goo Goo Dolls
Description: hometown band for me...

alysoup - July 24, 2006 01:30 PM (GMT)
So, I went to the Goo Goo Dolls concert on Saturday (the day after my AI tour concert). GGD are a local band around here. They are from Buffalo, I live in Rochester (only a 40 minute quick drive).

I have loved them for years and years (before they were famous they sang some awesome HARD rock and roll type stuff). I hope there are other fans on here too.

If there are...

Here are a few videos from the concert :)

This is them singing Give A Little Bit (a newer song)

This is them singing Black Balloon (older song)...still uploading, will edit when it is finished

I know that we are far away at this concert, but the sound quality is pretty good and everything, so I thought some people would want to see it :)
Enjoy

and comence the thread about how awesome the goo goo dolls are and how hot Johnny is ;)

I love them Aly! Thank you for the videos. I love "Black Balloon"! Did they sing "Name"? It's my favorite from them, and one of my favorite songs ever.

:rocker:

alysoup - July 26, 2006 05:29 PM (GMT)
YES! I love name. I couldn't tape it though because there was a security guard standing behind me kicking out some under age drinkers

EmJay321 - July 26, 2006 06:32 PM (GMT)
Awesome.

Why do the security guards have to ruin all the fun? Who do they think they are anyway? :poke: :rotfl:

holy goodness...how did i miss this thread?!

they're my favorite band of all time....and thank you so much alysoup for the clips!!!

did you get to go to the july 4th 04 concert?

i get to see them on sept. 9 and i'm superexcited. i'm crossing my fingers that i'll win a meet and greet through their fanclub.

(even though i try not to...i sometimes have fangirly tendencies toward them...especially robby).

ETA: I just watched alysoup's clips and i LOVE hearing Black Balloon live cause you can hear Robby's harmonies more clearly. ::sigh::

I absolutely adore the Goo Goo Dolls! Saw them for the first time ever on July 17, 2006. It was a really short show, only like an hour but it was absolutely amazing! Love them <3

they were center/left of the stage (if that makes sense...off to the left but not much at all)..and about 15 rows back. i still had perfect view of the Rzez in all his glory...and he's even prettier in person.

i didn't take my digital in cause the website for the venue said no cameras...so i snuck a disposable in. and then everyone had freakin cameras and no one cared, lol. but anywho, i'll have the pix from my disposable in a couple of days and i'll post the good ones!

oh and when the crows ended their set (they played last) with "hangin' around" there were these random guys in animal suits that came out and danced around the stage...my friend and i laughed our butts off cause it was so bizarre...we figured it was something adam duritz came up with while he was intoxicated...and then at the end of the song the guys in animal suits took the heads off and it was the GGD...johnny was in an alligator suit, robby was in a gorilla suit, and mike was in a dophin suit...truly bizarre, but very hilarious.

and and EmJay, they're touring by themselves the rest of this fall and into the winter and i'm pretty sure they have a few california dates lined up in december.

:rotfl: That is so funny about them and the animal costumes. Sounds like it was an awesome show and you had great seats. Thank you for the info on their fall tour. I'll have to look up the dates and see if they'll be anywhere close by.

Just saw the boys perform "Better Days" on ESPN for the reopening of the Superdome (i live three hours from NOLA, but couldn't get out of teaching today to see them...very bummed)...that song's quite accidentally become the anthem for those effected by the storms...full of hope and resounding of faith.

seeing them perform it was emotional to say the least...
