Title: Your favourite singer
Description: Male,female or band
abbypooh4E - May 21, 2006 04:03 AM (GMT)
I'm from China so I don't know many foreign singers. Can you tell me who is your favourite singer, Elliott of course , no doubt!!!

Favorite band: The Whitlams. (They are an Australian band that I wish would come to America, but I think since Tim is getting older he doesn't want to come to America. I wish he would! I LOVE THEM SO MucH!)
SylviaRebecca - May 21, 2006 05:16 AM (GMT)
I like a lot of different singers and songs...my tastes are fairly eclectic.
I love The Indigo Girls for their harmonizing, which sends chills up and down my spine. I love Elton John, Phil Collins, George Michael and Wham!, Queen, Billy Joel, James Taylor, Collin Raye, The Backstreet Boys, Deanna Kirk, Jim Croce, Savage Garden, The Corrs, Pink, SheDaisy, Clay Aiken, Simon & Garfunkel...I could go on and on!
But Elliott is my favorite...I confess that I can hear the same song over and over for hours and not get sick of it if I really like it...but lately the only one I can do that with is Elliott. I have literally listened to several of his songs on repeat for so long that my daughter will come into the room and say, "Gee, mom, aren't you sick of that YET??" But how could I get sick of listening to Elliott Yamin????
Medellia - May 21, 2006 07:03 AM (GMT)
My favorite is Christina Aguilera. When Kat sang The Voice Within, I screamed in agony. Seriously.
brwneydgirl - May 21, 2006 09:45 AM (GMT)

OMG, I know! I love Christina's Stripped cd, and The Voice Within was one of my favorite songs on the cd even before she released it as a single. Kat ruined it! Of course, her voice within isn't all that nice, so what can we expect? I was screaming at her through the tv. Such a beautiful song when Christina sings it, though.

That's interesting - do you know why is that? I definitely prefer male voices, can't figure out why. Of course there are some female singers I like, but the ratio is something like 1:10.
Wouldn't say who are my favorite singers because you've never heard of them :P - they are almost all Middle-Eastern, Israeli and Jewish (I mean Jewish music genres, not Western music singers who just happen to be Jewish like Elliott, there are also some non-Jewish musicians that do Jewish music).
mskday - May 22, 2006 12:00 AM (GMT)

fave male: JJ Cale

It is hard to say why I don't really like female singers. For the most part they just annoy me. There songs tend to be on the "oh poor me, fell sorry for me" side. I don't hate all female singers....just most.

My all time favorite female singer is Barbra Streisand. I've liked her for, probably, 25 years. I'm 37 now. I guess my current faves are Fantasia & Paris. Male would definitely be Elliott. I also like Elton John & Billy Joel. As for groups, The Beatles, Smash Mouth, Train, Creed, Five for Fighting & Aerosmith. There's probably more singers/groups I like, but, none are coming to mind right now. I enjoy classical, jazz, big band, 50's & 60's rock, pop & alternative. Even some country, r & b & hip hop.
