I've now moved this message to its own thread. I spoke with a ticket agent at the Virginia State Fair about Elliott's solo concert on October 8 and the possibility of getting group tickets. Here's the story:

The ticket office manager, Pam, is on vacation this week. She will be back next week. The agent I spoke with (Carol Longest) will talk to her next week. I explained that there is a large group of fans coming in from all over the country who want to get tickets to the concert and want to sit together. Is there any way we can do that?

Carol said that often bus companies will reserve a group of tickets, so she sees no reason why a fan group couldn't do the same. The only thing that could stop this is that Elliott's management might state that no group sales other than through them could occur. So, Carol will talk to Pam next week and then either Pam or Carol will get back to me. I gave Carol my cellphone number and my business email address, so I can be reached no matter where in the country I am.

So, here's the deal. Everyone email me with the number of tickets you want to have reserved. Even if you posted it here, let me know through email. Send an email to me at cfans@comcast.net. Give me your name, your posting name and how many tickets you want.

Again, there is no guarantee at this point, but it's something. Once I hear from the ticket office with a definite answer, I will let everyone know.

Any word when tickets go on sale?

I want two tickets for Elliott's concert for October 8. I will get there anyway I can. I keep going to the ticketmaster site and they still are not on sale yet. I'm so excited. Let me know if you hear anything.

I wanted to give everyone an update on what is going on with the group tickets.

As I said in the original notice, the manager of the group ticket office (Pam) was on vacation last week when I called to find out if we could reserve group tickets. She returned yesterday. I'm at a conference out of town all week and have very little free time. A friend of mine from Richmond called Pam on my behalf yesterday. Pam said that she has to check "up the line" with Elliott's representatives to see if they would allow the purchase of group tickets. She doesn't expect to hear anything back until Thursday. She promised she would get in touch with my friend as soon as she knew anything definite.

Single tickets are going on sale at 10 am on Saturday morning through Ticketmaster (online, by phone and in Ticketmaster outlets). If we don't have word before then that we can get group tickets, everyone should be prepared to purchase their own tickets through Ticketmaster. I don't want anyone to miss out on getting tickets. Of course, if we find out that we can get the group tickets before Saturday, I will let everyone know. In that event, I will put the purchase on my credit card and everyone can reimburse me through Paypal. I am hoping that at the same time I would know the seats location of those group tickets. I will ask everyone to confirm with me either that they want to go ahead with the group purchase, or that they have changed their minds and want to purchase on their own.
