Posted on Aug 11 2006, 01:23 PM Friends, I got in from Nashville in the wee hours this morning. I am off to work in a little bit so I won't have time to go into detail until tomorrow night. I did get to meet Elliott, thanks to Amanda R. He is awesome as was the concert and the reception of the Idols in Nashville. Back tomorrow night with more detail.

HEY Katie it was so great to meet you....i hope you had a blast.

Where do I begin? The day and night were just extraordinary! I am an old woman and I don't remember ever feeling this kind of elation over a concert .
Hubby and I and a friend met Amandarhea at a hotel close to the entertainment center. And before I go any farther, let me first say that Amanda is just a little doll! And what spunk!! She has more grit and determination than an atomic bomb.
When we first walked into the lobby of the hotel, I saw Amanda talking to Bucky. I wasn't prepared to see any of the Idols so soon. After I greeted Amanda, Istarted to walk across the lobby and there to my left was Taylor talking to a fan. I had my camera draped around my neck and was too bumfuzzeled at that point to even remember how to use the damn thing! And let me tell you, if you have not seen Taylor in person, you are in for the shock of your life. He is drop dead gorgeous! His pictures do not do him justice. I just could not take my eyes off of him. He is not at all pudgy and is astoundingly good looking and even with the gray hair, young in appearance.
We hung around the lobby for a few minutes hoping to see more of the idols.
Hubby, friend and I decided to grab a quick lunch in the hotel lobby.
I could hardly eat anything knowing that our Elliott would be down from his room soon.
Finished with lunch and a bloody mary to diminish my shyness and increase my camera ability, we walked back into the lobby just in time to see the back of Chris Daughtry heading to the bus. Amanda assured me that we had not missed Elliott. We had missed Kelly and Mandisa though. Ace came walking through next and what a sweet congenial young man he is.
While he was talking to Amanda, Miss Diva, herself came hobbling through the lobby. Now, I think y'all know that Kat is not one of my favorites. My husband, though, DID like her. Notice "DID". She smiled at no one and acted as though she really did not want to be bothered. Gutsy Amanda walked up to her, though, and asked for two autographs. She consented to the two.........showed no apparent joy and walked out to the bus. Hubby was very disappointed in her whole attitude and demeanor. Sorry, Kat, you just lost another fan. Not that I think you care.
At this point, I walked outside to have a ciggy.......I know........just let it go!
When I walked back in, Bucky had just reentered the lobby. Of all the Idols, he stayed the longest and so far, was the most endearing.
Oh my GOG......Oh my GOG.......Oh my GOG.......Elliott appeared. He is just the most amazing, most adorable man. Amanda started talking to him and I walked over. Bless Amanda. She introduced him to me. I mumbled something incoherent......meant to be a statement of how much I appreciate him.........have no idea how it came out. He signed two copies of the "Richmond" magazine for me and someone took a picture of us together. He is just as nice and polite a young man as he appeared on the show. I am so glad that he is my Idol.
Amanda arranged that we would meet at one of the restaurants before the show so that we could sign the banner. There was a group of Soul Patrolers meeting there as well. I met alot of wonderful people! Hubby just kept shaking his head the whole time at the wonder of all of these women, so intent in their patronage of the idols. One Soul Patroler had brought an album about 5 inches thick, completely filled with pictures of Taylor. My hubby could not get over it! He kept talking about the devotion( he did not call it devotion) the entire 3 hours of the trip home.
On to the concert. Our seats sucked. I had stayed on the phone for 4 hours, as soon as the tickets went on sale, trying to get good seats. The Idols looked like tiny dolls on the stage........and our seats were suppose to be pretty good.
Thank goodness for the screens. The performances, however, were divine! Everyone of them, including Bucky, were "ON". And Nashville gave all of them a tremendous welcome. Chris and Taylor got the biggest roars from the crowd and Elliott and Mandisa ran a close second. Kat, I think, got the least, but still respectable. Afterall, she sounded terrific and strong on her TWO songs. Not one screech or off-key note.
On an ending note, I have to say that I think all of the Idols have "grown" on this tour. They all sounded strong and capable. Our guy, has grown the most.
He is strong and confident on stage and handles his fans with sweetness and grace. There is still some nervousness when he speaks on stage but by the time this tour is over, I'm sure that that will be worked out as well.
I hope I have not bored any of you willing to read through this whole recollection.
I did get my tickets for the State Fair and I am looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible.
Thanks again to my little powerhouse Amandarhea. She is just adorable.

Awwwwwwww what a great review!!!! I am so glad you got to meet Elliott and see some of the other idols! I have to agree about Taylor. I wrote this in my richmond review. Taylor, wow, totally different in person! He is VERY good looking! And I dont know what it is, but he mesmerizes you, draws you into him. I could not take my eyes off him! Camera does him no justice at all!
Thanks again for your review and cant wait to see your pics :)
Elliott, awww, the more I hear about him, the more I adore him.

Katirpet - how did I miss meeting you in Nashville? Guess it was my procrastinating again. Wish I had been there 20 minutes earlier and I would have been standing there with you meeting Elliott! Well, we won't let that happen in October. I'll be on the lookout for you this time.
Yes, Amanda is just a doll. She has us all wrapped - lol!! She definitely deserves all the fun she is having.
Thanks so much for your review - thought it was great.
Take care!!

I was in Nashville too! The concert was awsome! Way mor entertaining than I expected. E was amazing! My friend and I had nose bleed seats and when we got to the venue we found a scalpper and traded up (for a small fee). It was way worth it. The big screens sucked! That is so cool you got to meet him. I wanted to go hunt down his hotel but I was on a five day road trip with 2 of my girlfriends (we drove from San Antonio) and I had to keep my Elliott obssesion to a minimum, well that and I started drinking at 2pm ( I was on my graduation vacation) I am Hoping to Catch them at a LIMBO show.
