COMPASSION IN BIRMINGHAM

I have a friend who has a relative named Marie, who is in a Birmingham hospital...
Marie's husband, John, was eating at Nikki's in B'ham last Monday night (the Idols' day off).
Marie's favorite "American Idol" singer had been Elliott so John got up the courage to go over to Elliott and say how much his wife enjoyed his performances on the show.
John must have also mentioned Marie was in the hospital because the next think you know - Elliott had called Marie and talked to her. As my friend said, "That doesn't happen every day!"
I will also say that Elliott endeared himself to everyone in Alabama by constantly wearing an "Alabama" baseball cap the entire two days--at Workplay Monday night and also in the A.I. concert. I think the boy may have SLEPT in that cap.
And your boy can sing with the biggest wad of gum in his mouth that I ever saw in my life! ;-) He's definitely multi-talented.
I also had an opportunity to sign an ELLIOTT banner at BJCC that I was told would be given to him after the concert...I wrote: 'BAMA loves us some E . . .and T !
And it's true . . . we do!

His sweetness and true concern for others never ceases to amaze me, even when he is exhausted himself. I love him so much.

Boy, I bet Marie was flabbergasted to get a call from Elliott Yamin, himself! Hope it sped her recovery! That boy is just amazing, isn't he? Unbelievable!

Just when I thought I was over shedding tears for this man, he does something else that bring out the waterworks all over again. What a kind and decent man he truly is! And, I don't think he'll ever change.

I read this on the AI boards last night and thought about bringing it over. Thanks so much for doing so. This is so much a part of why we all love him so much.
And not only can he walk and chew gum at the same time, he can SING and chew gum at the same time. :rocker:
