I contacted Staples Center via e-mail regarding taking cameras to the venue. This is their response:

Thank you for contacting STAPLES Center Guest Services.

At this time, the American Idols Live tour rule regarding cameras is
non-professional 35mm or digital point-and-shoot cameras with lenses no
greater than 3.5 inches in length are permitted at the event.
Video/audio recording is prohibited.

This policy is subject to change at the discretion of the American
Idols
production company.

Thank you for the heads up. I'll be seeing the idols there. I don't think I'll have a problem with my Kodak Easyshare 2.0 megapixel digital camera as it doesn't take video. :D

catielyn--thank you for checking this out. I was wondering myself. Are any of you going to get there early to try and score some meet and greet passes? I would really like to but I'm concerned about the parking situation out there. I don't know how early they would allow us to park in the venue.

Anyone have any info on that?

I'm definitely going to get there early to try and score meet and greet passes. I don't have to worry about parking because we'll be staying at a hotel about a block away. I'll take a cab or walk over if it's close enough. Even if I don't score the passes, I'll still wait out by where the buses are. :D
