Title: NIGEL/SO U THINK U CAN DANCE

nikobie - May 21, 2006 11:09 PM (GMT)
Curious whether anyone will be watching. Dance is a major love for me and I watched last year. It was ok. That's all. Just ok.

More limited audience appeal in general, I think. One reason is dancers really are out of the mainstream.
but given that it is again Nigel's show...I'm curious if anyone even cares?

I am. I liked the first season. Very pleased with the winner and the runner-up :D

I'll be watching if I can download it from the net - I downloaded all the previous season episodes (don't get Fox here). Who cares about Nigel? Give me some dance :dude:

I don't like that ballroom type dance, with all the ballet and stuff. I like me some urban dancing.

I love that ballet and stuff :monkey:. And urban dance :broccoli:. And ballroom :dancemonster:. Can't wait for it ALL :woohoo:

there were a few decent urban numbers in there last year.

Sharona...love all the dancing going on... :dancemonster: :broccoli:

And I did like the winner last year. Most deserving.

I'll be watching it. Really enjoyed it the first season.
I really hope a breaker does well.
I love breakdancing but it just didn't seem like they could follow direction very well. That one breaker got kinda far but he just didn't end up doing very well after some time.

IBelieveToMySoul - May 22, 2006 02:41 AM (GMT)
I'll watch. I fell in love with Jamile last year.

My daughter and I will be watching. Loved last season and very happy with the outcome, although I thought there were some really talented contestants to choose from. I wonder what Nick is doing now anyway, does anyone know? It made my daughter want to dance again (she competed for around 10 years) and it actually made me want to take Ballroom!! NEVER thought I'd say that!

It starts next week, doesn't it?

I do
He and the runnerup Melody have signed with a new contemporary dance company - Evolution Dance Company. Mia Michaels is one of the company's choreographers.

My faves last year were Nick and Blake, but in the end while I really liked Nick I really loved Blake - he moves me with his dance, although he sometimes exaggerates his emotional expression, but he has such passion and such softness that he really touches me, he's also an extremely sexy dancer, he brings his sensuality to the dance, almost every dance, except maybe the Smooth Waltz :)
I was disappointed that he didn't make it to the finals - I thought either Nick or Blake should have won it.

I agree, Blake was awesome! My daughter and I would sit there screaming on the couch with some of the moves he'd do! But, although his dance ability was great, it took me alittle while to warm up to him because of his "attitude" when the show first started.

Now, was that part of the deal? Getting a deal with one of the judges? Or did she just scoop them up on her own. And I've always wondered if Nick is sharing that apartment with Melody since they were best friends anyway?

I liked the show but I hope they do something about the format. For example, Blake was constantly getting to dance lyrical and I think we only got to see him dance hip hop with Nick at the very end of the show. But I don't want them all to dance the same thing for one show. (No way I'd watch the foxtrot for an hour!) They should rotate the different dances equally.

What they should probably do is once they make a pick, take that type of dance out of the hat for the following week, etc etc until they've covered all styles and partners, for that matter. Was it Blake and Ashley that were paired up alot also?

Yes, Blake and Ashley, and also Artem ( :thud: ) and Melissa.

I am SO pumped up about this next season! I fell in love with that show, particularly Nick. (If you have myspace hunt him down, he, Mel, and several others have pages.)

Blake has one too - he has such a bad taste . And he also has a website to confrim it in case you thought his myspace page was just a one time lapse . Of course he didn't design his own website but he's the client and it does carry his mark . Thank god he has a career in dancing and deosn't venture into web design... But he is into singing , he wants to record his own album - wonder what that might sound like
