I'm back from the concert I met Elliott
I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post my review here or if I should post it on a thread in the reviews section, so I'll post here and maybe move it to the other section later on.

So first of all, I want to send a huge thanks to Brandon, who made it possible for me to get the M&G passes and meet Elliott. Brandon - you are the best! Also a huge thanks to Gogo, who asked him to do this for me Another huge thanks to the sweet and lovely stazzie and her husband, who spent the day with me and came with me to the concert . So not only did I get a post show M&G pass, so did stazzie and her husband!! Elliott himself made sure of that, and we of course forgot to thank him for that when we met him

OK, since it is very late and I have to catch a flight tomorrow, I'll leave the full details for when I return to Israel, and now just concentrate on some of the points, so I apologize for the confused report.

So, when Elliott came out to the duet with Chris - HE WAS WEARING THE ISRAELI SHIRT!! It may have been coincidence of course, but I immediately turned red like a tomato, and spent the rest of the concert with misty eyes from tearing up. (side note - when I returned to the hotel I found out that my mascara was all smeared from the tears, and this is how I met Elliott, well... that's nothing compared to the weird red rash I developed today on my chin, something that never happened to me before! ).
Elliott was awsome!! I had to pinch myself to believe I was actually there listening to him!. but more on the performances when I return to Israel. So I'll skip to the M&G. We got into a room, it was very hot. Then Ace and Chris showed up, and started talking with people. We just sat there, not sure what exactly we are supposed to do. When we decided to take a picture with Chris, Elliott showed up. He is VERY cute. He has beautiful blue eyes and he looks better than in any picture of him that I saw. He was immediately mobbed by many fans, so we waited patiently until he finished talking with them. Then finally I approached him, and told him I was from Israel. He gave me a hug and said he was happy to meet me. I was so nervous that the entire conversation is a blur. I do remember that he told me that he wore the Israeli shirt especially for me, to which I actually didn't respond, since I was so speechless!. I'm such an idiot. I hope he didn't think I was being rude. I did manage to tell him that he was great and he said he was glad I enjoyed the show, and he signed the Richmond magazine I brought with these words: "Dear Rachel. Thanks for all of your love and support! God bless you. Tell everybody in Israel SHALOM for me!." We took pictures with him, and then he moved on to the next fans waiting to talk with him, but before that he asked us to hang around a bit longer, and then he said another thing that we didn't understand. So we actually got to speak with him again later. He seemed happy to talk with me!. Girls, I'm so sorry I didn't tell him about you and I didn't tell him actually anything of what I planned to. I wanted to tell him about how much his voice meant to me, and how his songs helped me through the war, especially during the first horrible week when I was so anxious I couldn't function at all. But it was so short and there were many people that wanted to talk with him, and I was so nervous that I didn't manage to say anything meaningful, and my famous Israeli Hutzpa that I was so successful in demonstrating that entire day, totally vanished at the most important moment!. My only consolation is that Brandon told me yesterday (yes, I spoke with Brandon, more on that later) that he told Elliott about us, so Elliott knows about his fans in Israel.
I got to speak with Bucky and Ace as well, they were both incredibly nice. When I told Bucky I was from Israel he said - "Ah, you are the girl Elliott was talking about" - wow!! . Ace asked me to give him a stronger hug!. And he wanted to know how I was doing. Actually I was much more coherent speaking with them than with Elliott because I was so nervous when I spoke with Elliott!. Later on we got to speak with Elliott again, he asked me to give him a hug to which I gladly complied, he told us that he has lots of family in Israel, to which I replied "I know" , and he said Shalom, so I immediately asked him if he knows Hebrew, and he started saying: "Ani Ohev Otcha", "Ani Ohev Otach", "Ma Shlomech", "Habibi", "Yallaa Yallaa", it was so funny!!. I asked him if he's ever been to Israel, and he said he's been there twice, when he was a baby and when he was 13, and then some other fans approached him so he talked with them. The security guys were rushing everyone outside, so we had to leave, but then I heard Elliott calling my name - I think he said something like "Bye Rachel, it was nice to meet you", but I'm not sure now. So I turned around and blew him a kiss in the air. And that's it! it seemed so short, I didn't get to tell him almost anything I planned to because I'm such a big idiot, but I'm so glad I met him!! I' so overwhelmed by everything that happened, it still hasn't sank in.

That's all for now, I already posted a full book here and I didn't even talk about the concert. stazzie - when you post your report please feel free to correct mine because I'm sure I left out things or got them wrong.

How awesome Ract. So very glad you got to meet Elliott. I can imagine being so nervous that everything you have planned to say just goes out the window. I'm really glad you had a good time.

Ract, what a wonderful encounter with Elliott!. I dont' blame you for beng nervous and I am so glad for you. Hope your trip home went fine, we are all thinking of you. It was so sweet for Elliott to wear that Israel shirt, and remember all our E trainers in Israel, along with his own family.

What a wonderful day - I'm so glad you traveled from Israel for the concert! And you know - I had a feeling all day that Elliott would know about you and wear the Israeli shirt for you. You girls ARE special to him and he appreciates you so much!

Wow that was wonderful. Thank you for sharing your experience with us ract. Even if you didn't say what you planned to say (but does anyone really do that in these situations?) I'm sure the whole meeting with Elliott was worth flying from Israel for. :)

A SUPERB recap ract! I am sooooo happy you had such a wonderful time! Your reaction to meeting Elliott was absolutely NORMAL!! Thank yor for posting your awesome adventure with meeting Elliott and the other Idols. I'm happy that you got to meet and talk with Elliott. We all would have been nervous in you place. I'm sure that your visit meant a lot to Elliott. I look forward to reading more about your experience at the concert and in the USA.

Ract, that is such as wonderful story. I'm so happy for you. I know how you feel about not saying what you wanted to. That happened to me in Richmond when I met Claudette, I was at a loss for words. Can't imagine what would have happended if I actually got to meet E. You are a beautiful girl BTW.

I think I have everything possible downloaded and converted, I just have to get the order right...it doesn't seem to transfer well from the burner to the TV. I finally got an erasable DVD to experiment on. I hope there won't be a problem because we're on two continents, but I think DiVX is the same everywhere.

DIVX? I know the man who created DIVX personally. DIVX is not still around anymore...is it?

Dox, there are a lot of disks around in DiVX format, even though I also understand it's a thing of the past, and in order to play them, you need a DVD player that especially plays DiVX, or, no go! That's why I always ask people if they have that kind of DVD player before I pass them a DVD in that format.

If I'm not mistaken, most of YaminGirl's videos, which I can't find in order to check right now, were in that format, and if I have something in wmv and want to play it on my DVD, I also have to first convert it into DIVX using my converter program where DiVX is very prominently figured in. Iknow avi is supposed to be the movie extension, but somehow it often isn't enough! There is also XViD, but don't ask me what the difference is. mp2 won't convert to anything I can use, the frame rate is always wrong no matter how much I try to play with it.
