A Million Little Pieces had a lot of controversy with it when Oprah said it wasn't all true. But, I don't give a flying poop :P
The book was amazing. So much so that I got and read the second book: My Friend Leonard.
The second book was also amazing.
Even if only half of the things in it happened to him...that is a lot of crap to have to have happen in one lifetime.
I haven't read the book, but I thought Oprah was really unfair to him. Can she really think that he's the only person to ever stretch the truth in a biography or any other non-fiction book?? She's an intelligent woman, but at times she makes me think that she's becomiing the Tom Cruise of the talk show medium, you know what I mean? I've been meaning to read his book when I get tha chance. Everyone I know who has says it's a fantastic read.
yeah, creative fiction....everyone who writes memoirs does it (even if they refuse to tell you so)
I'm so happy to see that there are others who are willing to admit that they loved the book, even with all the controversy. I thought A Million Little Pieces was fantastic, not because of the "facts", but how I felt while reading the book.
I'm grateful to Oprah for sharing the book with America but ticked that she made such a big deal of the "memoir" fallout.
