Title: My San Diego Concert Experience
Description: And then time for bed!

On to the show!

I had great seats at the side of the stage. The view was awesome!
Mandisa opened of course. She dedicated a song to the troops and preached about God having big plans for everyone.. She sounded just like she did on Idol.

Ace came out next. I was really surprised at how well he did! He didn't even seem too cheesy to me! I really liked his duet woth Mandisa. And boy did he work the crowd. (My mom was sitting in 6th row floor, and the girl next to her caught Aces beanie! She was apparantly very excited). He said how great it was to finally be in California, and that they had been waiting for this for a long time

Lisa was next. She did AMAZING! I was soooo impressed with her! When she got done with her songs the crowd cheered so much. She kept saying "Thank you guys!". After saying that about 3 times she said "You guys are going to make me cry!" she was so touched at the audience response, you could really tell! Does she not usually get that kind of repsonse.

Paris next. I thought her duet with Lisa was the best part (thought the choreography was cute!). Too much posing for me.

Then Bucky! I thought he did awesome! He seemed so relaxed and the audience seemed into it! He did a great job getting everyone to sing along (my mom caught his guitar pick!).

Kellie - I thought her duet with Bucky was adorable. She was very charismatic and did a good job (though that corsette thing made me laugh!)

Then Chris! Everyone stood when Chris came on, but they just stood. It was weird. There was no movement! But he did a great job. He tried to get the audience to sing along, but didn't really succeed! lol His duet with Elliott was absolutely amazing!

ELLIOTT! I was freaking out the minute Chris started their duet. Then when E came out - forget it! lol He sang so perfectly! And he looked so happy! You could see such joy in his face! I loved it! He said that people ask him every day if it's hard singing in front of thousands of people, but that it's nothing compared to what our troops go through and dedicated a song to them.
Boy did he sweat a lot! lol Oh and you know how I said people stood for Chris, but just stood? Well everyone stood for Elliott but danced along! It made me happy! :D

The boys sang Patience... BEAUTIFUL! I loved it soo much! Elliott was mouthing along with some of the other guys parts! It was cute! lol he and Ace looked like they were having a blast!

Katharine - Did a good job. She had her cast off, so she could sing 3 songs! WOO! I actually enjoyed it. She did none of the screechy notes she did on AI that I hate so much.

Taylor - started off in the back of the venue. Watching everyone being able to hear him but not find him was hysterical! He did well, it was very Taylor. One thing I noticed was that his shirt was soaked! It started off with little dark spots here and there, but spread throughout his set until his entire shirt was soaked!

The encores were a lot of fun, but I am still upset E doesn't get a bigger part on We Are The Champions!

One other thing I noticed... Elliott was wearing four braceletts: Blue, Red, Green, and what looked like Purple. It looked like some of the other Idols might have been wearing this purple one too.. Anyone know what it is?

Well I could go into more detail, but I don't want to bore and I am tired!
:bedtime:

Thank you for staying up to write your review. Good read. Happy that you enjoyed the show. Glad Elliott was awesome. His sister and her family live in/near San Diego. They were probably in the audience. San Diego has a large Naval/Marine base. I'm glad that Elliott gave such a respectful shout-out to the military. My nephew's ship was based there until January of this year.

I have a purple bracelet that I got a couple of years ago when I participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. It reads "HOPE." I still wear it along with my "CARE LIKE YAMIN IT" bracelet, in honor of one friend who passed away last year from cancer at age 28, and another closer to my age who's been battling breast cancer for a couple of years.

Hi elliottfan

What was the third song Katharine sang?

Oh--his sister and family were there. Also--remember that girl, Myshel, who wrote this letter about what Elliott's singing means to her and then the local radio show read it and fixed up a phonecall between her and Elliott? Well, this was her venue--San Diego. anyone seen any postings from her on her experience? Did she meet him?

Kat sang Somewhere Over The Raindbow, Black Horse and a Cherry Tree, and her third song was Think.

I think this was the concert Myshell was going to, but I never saw her. I actually saw very few Elliott fans (which was not good since I had the banner! )

:( Sorry ElliottCat, I wanted soooo badly to sign the banner but my preconcert experience went about as awful as I expected....ended up waiting for my hubby to drive with, and he didn't end up leaving work until after 5!!!!! Needless to say we were STILL on the freeway offramp and it was about 5 minutes to showtime!!! Of course the concert was AWESOME (as you know), but I did not have any time to look for you!!!Sorry!

Did you go to Hard Rock?? We were there, but no Elliott or anybody!

aww I'm sorry your preshow experience didn't go very well! :console:

I still have the banner, if you wanna pm with a message I could write it for you! :)

No I didn't go to Hard Rock. I'm not yet 21, but I planned to stand outside and wait for the Idols to come out (I have heard of people meeting them this way), but then Bucky informed us that they weren't going to be at the LMBO concert afterward, so I didn't bother going.

they told us they were going to the one in LA, but since I had a 3 hour drive home, and I wouldn't be able to see them perform anyway, we decided to skip it.
