Title: My L.A. Trip
jessykaw - August 28, 2006 05:56 AM (GMT)
So I was late getting to L.A. because I had missed my flight. I got to L.A. two hours later. I decided to do a little site seeing before I went to the concert.
I went to the Walk of Fame and saw all of the weird people and some people dressed up as characters and celebrities.
I finally made my way to the Staples center. I saw where the buses were parked and I thought it was funny that people were not standing around. I went around the corner and found a group of people who had meet Ace earlier. They were all waiting to see if anymore of the idols would come out. I hung out there for a while and met a few other E-Trainers. I decided to leave and go back to my other spot. I walked over there and looked down and saw Elliott standing there. Ok, so I turned into a total dork and yell down to Elliott. "Hey Elliott. Guess where I'm from". Then I held up my sign that read Virginia loves Elliott. He said cool and that he likes signs. What else could he say to such a stupid thing. I then ran back to the group on the other side to tell Yoli that Elliott was over there. I didn't want to let everyone know, so I just told her to come over and not to say anything. When we got back he was gone.

So, I go inside to find my seat. I was worried because I paid for a cheap seat ($40 instead of $68) and it said my view may be blocked. It was a side stage seat, which I had one in Richmond but paid full price. I figured the view must be blocked for it to be sold for less. I get to my section and was delighted when the woman pointed to my section. It was right at the corner of the stage. My ticket said row 10. I looked at the last row in the section and it said row 17. I kept walking down the steps, all the while getting happier and happier that my seat was so close. The front of this section did not start with the number 1, but with the number 4. This meant I was 6th row. The front row only had three seats and my row only had five seats. All of us in this section were freaking out about how good the seats were. Some of the idols came over to our section, plus they were right in front of us most of the night. A girl two rows in front of me got Chris' pick and a girl in my row, but the next section over got Ace's beanie.
My camera has been acting up. Some of the pictures are fuzzy.

After the concert I hungout around the area where the meet and greet was going to take place. They wouldn't let me near lounge but I did see Ace, Chris, Mandisa, Kellie, and Paris walk by me. I told them each hello. I waited and waited until I was able to get in. One of the workers told me I could go in. Only Ace and Chris were left in there. I also spoke with Ace's brother Ryan again. I got a huge hug from Chris.
We left and went to the Viper Room. We got there late and were waiting to get in. The guy opens the rope to let us in and Yvette tells me to turn around. I look and there is Elliott directly behind me. We had to go in but we decided that we would head back down stairs. As we did this, Elliott was coming up. We stopped him and had a brief chat. I told him I was from Richmond and he wanted to know which part. He introduced us to Jaime. He looked like he was having a great time. He told us that he was getting ready to start the second set. We went back in and saw Taylor in a room and then he came out to head to the stage. He walked right by me so I gave him a nice pat on the back. Elliott was chilling at a table with some friends. Taylor calling to Bucky and Elliott and they went onto the stage. It was great. I thought that place would be packed. It looked like about 75 people there. Everybody had a good time. When Bucky walked by me I stopped him and told him I was the Buck..Buck..Bucky girl. He remembered me. He was so funny. At the end of the night we paid our tab and left. I remember saying something to Jaime, but I can't remember what it was. Too much to drink! I don't have any pictures from the Viper Room. I was told no cameras were allowed. I did see a few though. I am still kicking myself over that one. Oh, I said something to the AI secruity guy there too. I remember patting him on the back and saying something about keeping them out of trouble. Note to self: do not drink and talk to AI people. I hate to think that he might remember me in the future.

I knew you'd have the full report! Too bad you missed the first set though - I hear Elliott tore it up on a bunch of songs. What did you get to hear him sing?
Sounds like a agreat adventure!
yoli68 - August 28, 2006 02:31 PM (GMT)
Jessykaw, it was so great to meet you on Saturday. Loved hearing about your previous AI concert adventures. It looks like you had some new ones here in LA. Thanks again for calling me over to see Elliott, too bad he had left. But it was still fun and the show was great. I'm glad you got home safe!
AILOVER2 - August 28, 2006 03:10 PM (GMT)
Wow, how could you have done that to us. I can't tell you how long I waited to see Elliott. I so remember when Yolie said she had to leave for a minute but I had no idea that she was leaving to get a glimpse of Elliott. I am so hurt! :thud:
If I would have seen him, I would never have kept that a secret form you. I could have yelled down to him and asked him or even begged him to come down and take pictures with us...we lost that chance.
I feel so hurt and so sad. :(
catielyn - August 28, 2006 04:11 PM (GMT)
I'm really disappointed that you would keep that information about Elliott being outside to yourself. We were waiting so long for a chance to get a glimpse of him. I don't understand why you would want to keep that information to yourself.
I'm glad you had fun though and that you got to take pictures with them.
jessykaw - August 28, 2006 04:14 PM (GMT)
I am sorry you feel this way. I was sitting there taking pictures of Elliott when I thought about his other fans on the other side. Instead of staying there the whole time to not miss anything, I left to go find other E-Trainers to share this moment. Since there were about 30 or more people over there, I didn't want to announce to the crowd that he was over there. It would have been a mob scene. So, I yelled for the first person I saw and had just spoken with, Yoli. By the time we got over there he was gone. I felt like I was doing something nice by going over there instead of just keeping it to myself. Sorry again. I guess next time I will just stay there and enjoy it by myself instead of picking and choosing who I tell.

Great pics! Thanks for the recap!
yoli68 - August 29, 2006 12:00 AM (GMT)
I'm so sorry that everyone is upset. I honestly had no idea that Jessykaw was calling me over to go see Elliott. If I had I would've said something believe me cuz my sister would've never forgiven me for leaving her as I walked away. I thought she was going to offer me better tickets, to tell you the truth.
Janizzle - August 29, 2006 12:36 AM (GMT)
Jessy, you look great in those pics! Thanks for sharing!
I heard Ace was wearing a Lakers jersey, but TUCKED IN??!!
jessykaw - August 29, 2006 12:42 AM (GMT)
Ace, Ace, Ace.....I saw him untuck the jersey and then he started pulling it over his head to take it off. I thought he was stripping, so I grabbed my camera and started recording. I did get him throwing his shirt.
lindagt - August 29, 2006 12:45 AM (GMT)
Was he wearing a tank under the jersey - or did he go shirtless?

He did have a tank on under the jersey. Oh my, I would have died if he went shirtless.

Well I was hoping - I think he's the only one we don't have a covert shirtless picture of. I guess shirtless is not AI clean family fare is it?
