Title: I Lost My Chance

AILOVER2 - August 28, 2006 04:42 PM (GMT)
:hello2:

I can't even begin to express how disappointed I am with Saturday's concert at Staples Center.

I waited 5 long, dreadful hours in line to see Elliott Yamin. It was hot outside!

And I just can't believe that another AI fan would try to hide the fact that she saw him and then secretly :glomp: pulled another AI fan aside to tell her where he can be found. I thought we were all fans of EY :grouphug: and I still can't figure out why this person would hide such a thing from us. I am devestated. :(

Other's posted and asked me to get over it and I can't even explain how hurtful their comments were. Get over it? I waited weeks to see EY, weeks! I waited in the hot, hot sun, just like everyone else, hoping, just hoping to get one look at him.

I won't have any other oppurtunity to see Elliott Yamin in concert. Because of finances, I don't have the money for another concert, let alone fly out of state to see him.

I am so heartbroken. :(

:bye:

Take heart, AILOVER2! You will get to see our beloved Elliott sooner or later.

I believe to my soul that it will happen.

Cheers!

P.S. A thing happens because of the right time, right temperature,. right place, right moisture, right acidity, right pressure, etc. Your day with Elliott will come. It is as sure as the sun rising from the east.

I am SO sorry to hear about your disappointment and I can't blame you. I know after waiting so long for the opportunity to meet him and it didn't work out, I'd be deeply disappointed too. But I know you will get the opportunity to meet him eventually - this is only the beginning for Elliott!

PoorMe - August 28, 2006 08:48 PM (GMT)
Ailover2 - since you must live somewhere near the Staples Center, you can be happy that you are at least in the same state where Elliott will be spending most of his time. Therefore, I think your chances of meeting him are greater than most. Keep your chin up and watch the internet for opportunities! I'm sure once his recording contract is announced they will have a website up shortly with information on where he will be performing. Even if you don't have the $$ for a ticket, you could go hang out nearby and hope for a meeting! Think positive!

My heart is broken for you, too. dearest! That is very discouraging!! I've come to realize that sometimes human nature can be very cruel. When you think of the bad times like that, when people have hurt you and let you down, remember Elliott!! He went through so many bad times, being kicked out of school, even out of his home, losing all those jobs, and even only being able to keep a part-time job to survive on--and all that only made him become a sweeter and more beautiful person. Sometimes when life stomps on you like that, just think that you're like a flower and your sweetest perfume is released through being crushed. Just keep smiling, forgive, stay loving, and God's Love will shine on you with special blessings, just like it did for Elliott! Stay strong and don't give up!

Here's a suggestion for you:

You might want to consider apologizing to the person you were refering to. You were wrong and you misread her intentions and motives. And, because of your mistake you embarassed her publicy and caused hurt feelings.

I am so sorry that your concert experience was a disappointment, but you can not blame someone else for this.

I have refrained from making a comment on this thread, but couldn't stand it anymore... this needs to be said.

did you not get to see Elliott in concert? I guess I am confused....

are you upset you did not get to meet him or see him in concert? For me, just seeing him do his thang on stage is more than enough and worth the hours of being outside in the heat..(which I did in Manchester, NH). I did not get to meet the E man either, but seeing him perform, is what it is all about and I hope you got that opportunity!! Glad your feeling better today;)

I understand why you think OP should apologize, and I agree, but at the same time I really think the person she was refering to should apologize as well. They both hurt eachother's feelings.

I understand where the person she was refering to was coming from, but at the same time I think she should have at least asked Elliott to come over. Ace wasn't going to come over a second time until somebody asked him, then he decided to. It wouldn't have hurt, the worst he could do was say no.

I did feel a little bad for that poster because everyone was upset with her, until I read her reponses to them. She wasn't sorry at all. There was no "Oh sorry guys, I guess I should have done that but I just thought E might prefer to not have a bunch of people over.." The way she responded was by making it sound like (and people feel like) they were the rude ones by wanting to intrude, when Elliott clearly didn't care about them.

And I honestly can't imagine what she thought the response was going to be when she told all the E-Trainers that she saw Elliott, but decided to share the news with only one of us when there was about 5 of us there..

catielyn - September 1, 2006 10:12 PM (GMT)
There were more than 5 of us there. I wish she would have said something too. Elliott is a sweet man and if we were all together, we could have persuaded him to come out for some pictures and autographs just like Ace was persuaded.
