Title: My MN Concert Experience - Part 2

ract - August 28, 2006 07:54 PM (GMT)
Hi All!

With a week delay, involving a flight back to Israel, a modem crash and severe problems with my internet explorer, I'm finally able to post the missing details from my report - mostly the concert itself. I'm sorry it took me so much time and now it's old news, but I had no control over it!. I'm also sorry that this turned out to be such a long post!

When I arrived to my hotel in Minnesota, there was a message waiting for me - Brandon left his phone number and asked me to call him!. He is so sweet!. :grouphug: I talked with him and he told me he will speak with Elliott and try to arrange our meeting. He is working so hard to help Elliott!. What a great friend!. Later in the evening he called me to the hotel and informed me that Elliott made sure we have 3 passes on my name. Stazzie and I were thrilled!. :woohoo:
The next morning stazzie picked me up from the hotel and we spent the day together. We looked for a green shirt for her but didn't find a suitable one. I brought mine from Israel. We had a great time!.

Skipping to the concert since my post is already too long. I had lower level seats, I had a good view of the stage, but it was too far to take pictures, though I tried..
It started with Mandisa, she talked about the party they had for Paris's birthday the previous night, and how much they enjoyed it, and then she dedicated her song to the brothers with jobs.. Her voice is very powerful but I think she tends to overdo it. She looked beautiful. Her duet with Ace was very nice, but I liked it much better when he sang FF. I love this song, I liked very much the way he did it on the show, and I loved it in the concert. The moves were kinda hot. He sounded very good. I actually told him when I met him that I love his version of FF, and he was pleased to hear it and asked me for an extra hug. I also liked his next song. Overall I thought he was much better in the concert than on the show. Next came Lisa, another very good surprise. In the song she sang while playing the piano (sorry I always forget songs names!) I thought she was enchanting. Her duet with Paris was great!. I loved it. I was dancing in my seat (the other people in my row didn't move a muscle almost for the entire show!). Paris herself was a bit disappointing, but I don't think its her fault. Her numbers don't leave much room for vocals - way too many dance moves, though she is a fabulous dancer!. Bucky was next, he is such a nice guy but country is really not my thing (well, I'm from Israel, not exactly a country power nation :D). The duet with Kellie was just ok, as were the rest of her songs.
Intermission. Then came Chris. Wow! the energy in the xcel energy center went up times 10!. The crowd just went wild for him. He definitely has star quality. It felt like a rock concert. I was already nervous because I knew Elliott was up, but when he finally appeared with the Israeli t-shirt.. well, you know how I reacted.. I had a feeling it was for me, I slid into my seat blushing like crazy and started to tear up, and I almost forgot to listen to him! But how can you not listen to him - he sounded so awesome, and he looked like he was born on stage. What stage presence problems? Forget it!. He is such a great performer!. He was so cute with the Israeli t-shirt, I wanted to hug him from my seat... The man sitting next to me even applauded enthusiastically, after being numb for most of the concert... I was shouting of course. The crowd absolutely loved him!. I think I loved "never too much" the most, though MMFL and trouble were awesome too. (As I said I was a bit too shocked during "savin me"...). Then there was "Patience", and I got such goose bumps! the harmony is so beautiful! Definitely my favorite part of the concert besides everything Elliott. I also got more teary and a bit sad because I realized that this is the last time in who knows how long that I'll see Elliott on stage, since the States is so far away from Israel! I wanted more Elliott!!.
Kat was next, she looked very skinny. The first song was cute and fun. I was totally unimpressed with SOTR, but the crowd went wild for it, so maybe it's just me. Taylor was very entertaining, I especially liked "Taking it to the streets". The group numbers were fun but I was already nervous and didn't really concentrate because I knew I was going to meet Elliott. And the rest you already know.. I had an awesome and exciting experience that I will never forget!.

Thank you for your wonderful description of the concert. I live in Minnesota but did not attend. I am waiting to go to one of Elliott's solo concerts, because I know just seeing him sing three songs would not be enough for me!

I would not be at all surprised if Elliott did a concert or two in Israel. After all, he has family there!

Thanks ract for the extra information. Loved it. Dancing in your seat huh? How cute. :glomp:

Ract, you did a great job with this review :urock: ! What could I add, since I was also anxiously awaiting Elliott's presence the whole time? I had a very warm feeling come over me when I saw he was wearing his Israel shirt. Patience was my fav too. I enjoyed the guys' harmonizing! After that I was just wanting to get to the bathroom fast before a line started forming, so I missed all of Kat's songs and was not concerned. I did see Taylor, though and enjoyed him. The guy has amazing energy! Sorry if I don't have more to say about the concert itself, but my anticipation was for the M&G. Also, no one was very enthused where I was sitting either.

The only thing I could add here was the song Lisa did at the piano. It was the Elton John song "Someone Saved My Life Tonight". It brought back a very early memory from 1975 ^_^ . You know how songs do that? I wonder what memories Elliott's songs will bring years into the future..

Thank you all! it was indeed an amazing experience to see Elliott performing live - an addictive one!. I hope he will perform in Israel one day. I may just have to go see him performing in the States again!.

Stazzie, I wish we were sitting together! never mind - next time we will!. :)

Whoever fixed my typo in the title which I complained about - thank you!

Thanks for the great concert review, Ract! You've painted such a clear picture of everything that it feels like being with you there. I liked the bit about you dancing in your seat (which I would have done - can't control it); sliding down into your seat with the shock of seeing E live for the first time, and wearing his Israel T-shirt (for you); and this part "The man sitting next to me even applauded enthusiastically, after being numb for most of the concert... " :rotfl: Quite comical! The blank, immobile body all of a sudden jerking to life! Just appeals to my sense of humor... sorry...

Glad you girls had such a great time. An amazing experience, all in all, and there'll be more to come!! I am certain Elliott will come here at some stage!

Elliott! If you are reading this: Come to Israel REALLY SOON!! Pleeeeeezzzee! Good place to take a holiday! (my sales pitch) You might find it quite peaceful over here, relative to the Tour!. You can bring the rest of the rat pack with you too!
(And don't forget to let us know!!) :P
