Just wondering if anyone caught Simon's new show, "Celebrity Duets". I was switching around TV last night between that and the White Sox game and found it pretty good. Any other opinions if you saw it? Really no contest as there is only one REALLY good celebrity singer.

Nope - totally missed it. Never heard anything about it. It sounds like it would be a good show though. Who won? Or is it a weekly thing with eliminations, like AI?

Yep I did watch it, cute show . LOVE Alfonso Ribeiro Loved him in Fresh prince just so cute! He has a really good voice too. Then there is that other guy from "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" can't remember his name... He has a nice voice.
My opinion is that it will be these two in the final. BUT I have been wrong. sigh

I watched it. Jai Rodriguez was the best! No question about it! I have to say that I only watched the performances and ffwd through all the rest. Except for the Hal Sparks footage. I love him. I think he is hilarious. Not exactly the best singer but I'm still rooting for him.

Carly Patterson wasn't that good. Cheech either.

I watched the show last night mainly to see some of the professional singers, but I doubt I will be watching it again. Alfonso Ribeiro was really good -- I hope that he wins for his charity. I enjoyed judge Little Richard, James Ingram, Gladys Knight, Peter Frampton, and some of the other professionals. Some of the celebrity performances were unwatchable and I just can't sit through watching Wayne Brady and David Foster week after week.

I have to agree with you in regards to David Foster I can NOT Stand him. I don't know why? I just can't stomach him. His arrogance? probably.

Little Richard I don't think finished one sentence last night , he is so cute!

Smokey Robinson was wonderful. !! I could of listened to him all night. The others were very good also.

The first week the judges eliminated a celebrity and from now on it seems like it will be voting like American Idol, although I could be wrong. They didn't give much info on the voting process yet. It's pretty good but nothing that I would stay home for - like I did with American Idol.

I loved Alfonso! I loved him on Fresh Prince and I love him here also. I hope he wins.

It was an alright show. I thought were Alfonso and Jai sang very well. They'll probably be the final two.

To those who wanted to watch but missed it, they are repeating it tonight at 8PM. I hope Alfonso wins and does the Carlton dance. Little Richard was hard to watch. Does he have a substance abuse problem or is that his normal self?

I saw most of the show. I thought Alfonso and Jai were the best singers. Overall, the show was just okay for me. If I happen to catch it, I'll watch, but I won't care all that much if I miss a show.

I can't stand David Foster.

I wasn't particularly entertained, some "duets" hurt my ears. I may watch occasionally, if the performances get better, but I enjoy good singing voices, and most of them are not very good.
So we'll see.
I remember a few years back reading that Alfonso wanted to release an Album, he has been in the studio, maybe the majority of people don't know this, so he clearly has the advantage here.

I've always known that he could sing and I agree that he has a huge advantage. When I first heard about the show, I thought all of the good contestants would fall into the "wow, I didn't know he/she could sing" category.

I like Alfonso, Jai, and Hal. I know I'm in the minority, but I like Cheech, too, and I don't care what people think about that. :P

Yeah see Jai was on broadway. He played Angel in Rent for a very long time.

Well, make that a minority of 2! I think Cheech is adorable.
And I really don't think he is that bad of a singer. He does pretty well in the country genre, even though I don't particularly like that type of music.
I can't understand why Foster is always ragging on him.
I can't believe that Lucy Lawless was the top vote-getter this week. I really dont' think she can sing that well at all. Maybe my ears are failing me.

Yay! I'm not the only one. :D Yeah, Foster made me so mad this past week the way he was bashing Cheech. I thought Cheech did really well with that song. I was glad he was not sent home this week. I don't like Foster that much anyway (stemming back to how ignorant he was to Elliott), so anything that proves him wrong makes me happy.

I couldn't believe that Lucy had the most votes either. She's pretty good, but I didn't know she would be that popular among the people who actually vote for the show. I was really surprised to see Hal Sparks in the bottom 2, and I kind of think the producers are trying to play mind games with the viewers. From what I've read online, I thought that Jai, Hal, and Alfonso would be getting the most votes.

I have to start my "Vote for Hal" post. He seems like such a great person. He really wants to win this thing too for him charity.

I'm so sad that Jai didn't make the final. :cry: I wasn't able to vote this week, so I feel so guilty. :( He was my favorite.

Drat! I missed the results show last night. Saw on another forum that both Jai and Cheech were out. Why was there a double elimination? Did they say that voting was down? I liked both of them but Jai can definitely sing rings around Lucy. I don't get what America hears? She is a beautiful lady, though. I think Alfonso has really improved. Hope he wins. Not too impressed with Hal. He is cute but I think he fancies himself quite the rocker. I don't vote so maybe I don't have the right to gripe.

They had said that the two lowest vote getters would be going home this week, but I'm not sure why. Maybe due to Fox's schedule; maybe there's another show that is going to be on, and they needed to move along faster.

I hope Alfonso wins, too. He and Jai were my faves. I think Hal is good and cute, but I prefer Alfonso. I've liked him ever since he was on Silver Spoons with Ricky Schroeder when they were little. They were so adorable!

I thought Jai was great, if not the best; better than Lucy.

He and Jai were my favorites the whole time, so I was glad that Alfonso won tonight. He sounded awesome singing "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me"!!!! I hope Alfonso and Jai are both able to record in the future. I'd love to hear more from both guys. :cheerleader: :cheerleader:
