I am so moved and overwhelmed by all of you fans who are willing to travel from so far to be with us all together for Elliott's State Fair concert. What a leap of faith and what devotion to Elliott! You guys have to be the most awesome fans in the world. Richmond will be eternally grateful.

It is going to be a heck of a weekend! First - pretty much the WHOLE GANG is going to be together for the first time - and some quality time at that, for a good cause. I can't wait to meet some of you that I have never met, but who put in so much time and hard work for this site and for the promotion of Elliott's career! We are going to have a wonderful party. (BTW - Doxie - I don't know why you think I'm going to sing Walk This Way - I don't even love Aerosmith :D )

Then - I've got a feeling that this concert is going to be wonderful and full of surprises. Something to remember forever.

I am anxiously awaiting the weekend of October 8 - for Elliott and for all of you.

Because I tried to think of a very hard rock song for a female to sing, and chose that one, so i could tease you about it since you said NO WAY did you wanna sing. :)

I'll be driving from Mississippi and then on to PA to visit family. I'm seriously considering bidding on the Elliott standup (what do you call it anyway?). I was leading a nice sedate life of retirement until three years ago when I discovered how much I love concerts. My sisters were surprised when I paid an exorbiment amount for 2nd row tickets for one of Alabama's last concerts (in Buffalo). They humored me when I drove to West Virginia to get them and then backtracked to Knoxville with them in tow for a Brad Paisley concert. They thought it was fine that I would fly to Charlotte for the AI concert. But if I show up in PA with Elliott in the back seat the word committed may not be referring to me as a fan. :rotfl: :rotfl:

We actually shifted gears a bit on cardboard Elliott.

Since he is a $600 item we did not want to start bidding less than $200 since HappyFacePhoto paid $500 out of pocket and donated him. I think that $200 was probably a steep start bid for him for most, so we decided to raffle him off.

Raffle Tix for Elliott are $10 each. That is more doable i think for our Elliott lovers. And anyone during the show who would like their pic taken with tihs "elliott" can do so for $5 each. We will have a printer there and will give the photos out immediately. Of course 100% of this goes to JDRF so even tho folks are free to use their own camera to take pics with E we hope they will support JDRF and buy them too!!!!

I will be posting more details on this soon and also about how those who want to donate but can't make it to richmond can do so!

Also, Southwest Airlines is starting service into Dulles starting at the beginning of October. (they also fly into Norfolk) They tend to run cheaper rates than the other airlines.

I'm planning on flying in from San Jose to Gaithersburg, MD the previous week then drive down to Richmond on Friday. I'll stay in Richmond on Friday and Saturday night ... goto the concert on Sunday night then drive back to Gaithersburg that night. I'll be working in Clarksburg, MD the following week. I may extend thru Sunday night in Richmond.
