You know what I have realized about Elliott Yamin, now that it's past dinner time and I've had my wine?
This guy is a MF-ing talent magnet. He reveals talent like Donny Hathaway, King Pleasure and Luther Vandross to people who are too young to have known the great records of these singers...and he created the conditions to encourage the outstanding copywriting and scriptwriting skills of the cartoonists here.
I just have a feeling that this whole re-framing of American Idol, as a tribute to America's classic music and the cross-generational creativity handed down talent by talent, is going to save music in this country, and have ripple effects that we can't even imagine yet. :grouphug:

You are so very eloquent in your epiphany and I agree with you that Elliott has done exactly what you said. I wish I had the faith in AI that they would support and encourage contestants who are like Elliott in future years to have the courage to perform great music that many younger people do not know. I'm not sure they realize what a gem they had in him.

I've had "A Song For You" in my head all day. Maybe I'll have to give that Audrey Hepburn thing a try......... :rotfl:

Oh, WoW! I love your creativity. I can so identify with the Yaminoholics! Sometimes I have to make myself do other things like the dishes, laundry, or other projects by promising that when I get done, I can check the boards for information about Elliott. Love your comic. It is great! The picture you chose of Elliott is so hot! :woohoo:
