Good Morning America announced the ELEVEN new celebrities who would be competing this season this morning! (I wonder which professional dancers will be returning and if there will be any new professionals we've never seen before)

Here's the celebrities I remember:
Mario Lopez
Vivica Fox
Jerry Springer (I know :blink: )
Joey Lawrence ("Whoa!")
Sara Evans (a country singer)
Harry Hamlin (Lisa Rinna's husband)
Monique Coleman (Taylor from Highschool Musical)

The other four consisted of a retired linebacker from the Dallas Cowboys I believe, another female singer, some guy from CNN (I think) who wore bowties, and... I forgot who the last one was. ABC should probably update their website soon now that the cast was announced on television.

Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris will return to host. The 11 new celebrities were announced on August 14 by Lisa Rinna on that day's edition of Good Morning America:

* Tucker Carlson – MSNBC news anchor -- and often controversial -- conservative political TV pundit and columnist. He will be partnered with professional dancer Elena Grinenko, who makes her series debut this season.

* Monique Coleman– Actress and teen idol from Disney Channel's smash hit High School Musical. She will be partnered with professional dancer Louis Van Amstel, who returns for his third season. Van Amstel danced with Lisa Rinna and Trista Sutter in previous seasons.

* Sara Evans – Country Music Award-winning and top-selling singing sensation. Sara will dance with Tony Dovolani, who partnered with Stacy Keibler in the second season.

* Willa Ford – Singing sensation and self-professed "bad girl of pop." Professional dancer Maxsim Chmerkovskiy, who teamed up with Tia Carrere last season, will be her professional dance partner.

* Vivica A. Fox – Stunning film and television actress/producer who has starred in several major blockbusters including Kill Bill and Independence Day. She will be partnered with professional dancer Nick Kosovich, who returns for his second season. He was previously paired with Tatum O'Neal.

* Harry Hamlin – Film and TV star of the hit, award-winning drama series L.A. Law and husband of Dancing with the Stars alumna Lisa Rinna. Professional dancer Ashly Delgrosso returns to the series for her third season. She was previously paired with Master P and Joey McIntyre.

* Joey Lawrence– Actor and former teen heartthrob. Professional dancer Edyta Sliwinska, who returns for her third season, will be his partner. She previously partnered with George Hamilton and Evander Holyfield.

* Mario Lopez – Actor and TV host. He will be partnered with professional dancer Karina Smirnoff, who makes her series debut.

* Shanna Moakler – National beauty queen, actress, model and reality television star. Professional dancer Jesse DeSoto joins the cast for the first time this season as her partner.

* Emmitt Smith – An NFL legend and three-time Super Bowl champion who holds the world's all-time leading rushing record and is considered one of the greatest football players to ever play the game. He will be partnered with Dancing with the Stars season two professional dance champion, Cheryl Burke.

* Jerry Springer – Notorious TV talk show host of The Jerry Springer Show, talk radio broadcaster and politician. He will be partnered with Australian beauty, professional dancer Kym Johnson, who makes her series debut this season. Kym was the champion of the Australian Dancing with the Stars.

Wow.... Cheryl and Tony are back... For season 2 I was kinda wondering why the top two professional dancers from season 1 hadn't returned (Alex and...... John O'Hurley's partner)... I figured that it was because they made the finals and the powers that be didn't want the public voting for them just because we knew them more than the others, giving them more of an advantage.

But maybe they just didn't want to do it.

Aaaaw. Jonathan isn't back... (the one who danced with Rachel in season one... in season 2 he danced with the dark-haired woman who's father was a dancer. I forgot her name). His wife isn't back either.

Vivica is paired with Nick Kosovich? Aaaaaaw. He might be good and all but from season 2 I didn't really care too much for him.

And I hope that the women celebrities get to do quicker songs early on. It was at least two weeks before the women started doing upbeat songs last time, wasn't it?

Anyways, new faces, new routines! I'm excited! :D

Sara Evans? She will be the reason my hubby will actually watch with us this season!! She is one of our favorites country artists, we all LOVE her voice & hubby also loves her assets! :eyebrows: Course, he claims I look like her...uh....right. :crazy:

Glad Tom is back, as for Samantha, didn't care for her at all till the last 2 shows, perhaps she is more at ease hosting now...we'll see.

I've had some pretty awful dance partners in my life, but no amount of experience could have prepared me for the unspeakable horror I witnessed when I stepped onto the dance floor with Tucker Carlson. Sorry people, but I HATE Mario Lopez. He used to do a morning radio show out of LA and it used to bug me when he'd talk about the manners that his dad taught him as a child about how to respect women but at the same time he's cheating all over town and his marriage lasted like for what....five minutes. Not sure who I'll be rooting/voting for this season; but of the pros, IMHO, the best are Tucker Carlson's partner (Elena Grinenko), Willa Ford's partner (Max: Tia Carrere's partner last season), Mario Lopez' partner (Karina Smirnoff, top-notch world-class latin dancer - could actually give Cheryl a run for her money), and of course Emmitt Smith's partner, the one and only Cheryl Burke. Can't wait to see how these - and the rest of the partnerships shape out, and read everyone's thoughts about the show.

So I just watched my first full episode of Dancing With The Stars. I must say, I was very amused and entertained! Harry Hamlin and Jerry Springer put a huge grin on my face. lol

I think that Mario Lopez will take the prize, but who knows!

Oh and why oh why did Joey Lawrence shave his head????? He had gorgeous hair! It's a crying shame.

Yeah, Emmitt Smith was really good too! I was shocked. The bald head is soooo strange to see on Joey...but he is still adorable.

I watched it! They were all pretty good. Yeah, I saw Joey in a preview for the show, and I was shocked that he was sporting the bald look now, but he still looks hot IMO, and he was pretty good. Mario Lopez was awesome. I think he was better than his professional partner. :lol: Emmitt Smith was REALLY good! Wonder how he'll be in ballroom style dancing, though. I like Harry Hamlin, so I hope he lasts for awhile. Maybe the people who voted for his wife will vote for him. I felt bad for Sara Evans. I thought she did good, and the judges placed her really low with the scores. :( Vivica did a great job, and Jerry Springer was funny. He actually wasn't that bad.

Now that you guys have commented too, I wish I had recorded the show 'cause I can't seem to remember the names of most of the "stars". I'll admit I spent a lot of the show gabbing with my mother instead of watching so that could be why!

I never liked Mario on saved by the bell - I was a Zach groupie lol. But now seeing them both age into adulthood, I am definately now on "Team Mario"!!

I do remember Tucker, he definately should be the one to leave next. I found myself rooting for Jerry Springer and Harry Hamlin. I hate Jerry's show, but I've gotta give him credit. He seems like a totally fun guy and looked like he was having a blast! And Harry just seems like an awesome guy all around. The parts I did see of Vivica's performance where great and I have always loved her "in your face" personality so I'd have to agree with you Reality Mom! :D

And is it one or two people who leave next week?

I think Tucker is going to go home, although, for some reason I really like him despite the fact I hated his guts on Crossfire. I thought they were too hard on Sara Evans. The biggest surprise for me was Emmitt Smith. I had no idea who Wila Ford was...but for a hip hop girl I thought she was the best female alongside Vivica "the" Fox. I love her too! Mario and Joey will be up there in the end, but I prefer Joey (where IS his beautiful hair?)...I think he has had dance training when he was a kid. Harry Hamil and Jerry Springer have the most endearing reasons for being there....Harry so he can dance with his wife,Lisa Rinna,from last season...and Jerry so he can dance well at his daughter's wedding...very sweet!

I really like Mario Lopez. He's really good and I think he could win it. I'm a fan of Sara Evans so I'm rooting for her too.
