DJ babblefish - September 19, 2006 03:43 AM (GMT)
Hey guys!

As some of you know I'm getting married next August. Today i was looking at dresses at Davids to get ideas.. and then I found this one
http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_d...6&prodgroup=159
and totally fell in love.
I tried it on and it looked good and was comfy.
Let me know what you think.
and I want honesty.

CAN SOMEONE TAKE A PICTURE OF YOU WEARING THE DRESS SO WE CAN SEE HOW IT LOOKS ON YOU? IT IS A BEAUTIFUL DRESS BY THE WAY.

lindagt - September 19, 2006 11:27 AM (GMT)
It's really pretty DJ!!! And remember that YOU are the one you have to please on this dress - if you fell in love with it and it is comfy - go for it! By the way - kudos to you for not choosing strapless - not that there's anything wrong with that, but it seems to be mandatory these days for brides, and I love some beautiful action around the arms and shoulders!

Sk8888 - September 19, 2006 11:27 PM (GMT)
DJ, it's beautiful!!

I'm a sucker for the halter "cut" that shows off your shoulders. Great neckline too.

Congratulations BTW!!

thanks a ton guys! It really means a lot to me. I totally love this dress and as I look at it I love it more. I want to show my fiance so bad but lol.. it's FORBIDDEN.. lol.

thanks for all your kindness yous guys.. i love ya :grouphug:

ETA: I hate strapless too.. I get scared about THINGS popping out. lol. It's so hard to find a gown these days that have anything that even resembles a strap. It's crazy. So you can imagine my excitment when I saw this dress.. :woohoo:
and the price can't be beat! That's one of the best things. I usually have the most expensive tastes. My mom is VERY happy about this. :bounce:

VAisforElliottLovers - September 21, 2006 02:30 AM (GMT)
that's a very pretty dress. i am also getting married, in October 2007. i am finding it hard to find the perfect dress. i have found one that i really like, but my mom keeps saying i don't have the "this is it!" face when i have it on. ...we'll see, i still have more time. but yeah, i think it's very pretty and elegant. and, if you love it, don't pass it up! oh, and congrats! :D

DJ babblefish - September 21, 2006 06:55 PM (GMT)
congrats to you too!! There are a lot of stores with great staff that know exactly the types of dresses that look good on certain body types. So go in the stores and ask TONS of questions... if they arent receptive to you then leave. lol :poke: .

VAisforElliottLovers - September 21, 2006 07:43 PM (GMT)
i did find a little shop that i fell in love with. the lady who owns it is wonderful and i have been back to her multiple times. she just doesn't have exactly what i'm looking for. but maybe now that fall dresses are out i can go back and she'll have new ones....

GypsyNFla - September 21, 2006 08:54 PM (GMT)
DJ,

I love that dress, and if it looks great and feels great, then it's the right one :)
I think it looks very elegant.

Mine was about the same price when I got married and I wasn't about to spend $1,000 bucks on a wedding dress anyway lol.

ElliottisTrueBlue - September 22, 2006 08:04 PM (GMT)
Dahling it's gor-geous!! I love halter dresses, they are a beautiful change from all the strapless ones

nicky1986 - September 23, 2006 12:38 AM (GMT)

Danielle.Hearts.E - September 23, 2006 02:12 AM (GMT)

are you on www.theknot.com

if not.. then CHECK IT OUT!! peruse the gown section.. they have every gown imaginable.. and you can search all the designers to find a local store that carries the one that you want.
always ALWAYS print out the dress that you want and bring it the store.. they might not have exactly what you're looking for but they might have something similar.

when are you getting married?

Gypsy- that was exactly what I was thinking.. You wear the dress for one day and then it's put in a box.. or whatever... and as important as the dress is.. I couldn't imagine spending that much money BEFORE alterations, slips, veils, tiaras... all that stuff... because with everyone combined I know its going to be closer to 1000 in the end anyways.
Thanks everyone :grouphug: i love yous..
I feel like i should have live streaming video of my wedding for my etrain fam.

VAisforElliottLovers - September 24, 2006 11:59 AM (GMT)
yep, i am on theknot.com! i'm a dreamer, so i was there even before i was engaged. haha. you're right, they do have countless dresses to look through. i haven't looked in a while though. you should see my "saved gowns" ..... there's way too many! i'm getting married in October of next year. so, i have a few more months to decide!

sayu_bb - September 24, 2006 12:58 PM (GMT)
Aaawww, your post totally melt my heart(I may not look like one but I'm a hopeless romantic).
That dress is gorgeous,itīs not complicated, simply beautiful :)

France - September 24, 2006 01:08 PM (GMT)
DJ, congrats on your upcoming wedding and on finding such a beautiful dress! I'm getting married in May '07, and it turns out I don't have a dress yet. OK I can't talk about this too much or else I end up stressing about it. Wedding planning is driving me crazy; I'm kickin' myself in the arse for not eloping.

Are you having kids at your ceremony/reception?

DJ babblefish - September 25, 2006 08:25 PM (GMT)
Congrats to you too!
I know what you mean about the stress! There are more things to think about than I could have ever imagined. Luckily, I have a lot of people around who have done a lot of weddings lately and have a lot of great ideas. If you need anything just PM me .. I am chock full of ideas.. the sad thing is i would plan others peoples wedding better than my own. I think I'm overwhelmed with the whole thing making it perfect.. Anyways, to answer your question.... Yes. We are allowing children... we know a ton of kids and we LOVE THEM! Kids always dance and want to have a fun time.. and that's exactly what I want my reception to be like. I guess it all depends on wht your want your environment to be like. My Fi and I are very laid back and casual.

hayleysgrandma - September 28, 2006 02:45 PM (GMT)
DJ the dress is beautiful. My daughter got married in October 2006 and her dress was a halter type and it looked beautiful on her. Personally, I hate the strapless type dresses so am very fond of a halter or full top. Remember though, you don't have to please anyone but yourself. We got my daughter's dress at a discount shop and it was around the same price as this dress. It was perfect for her day and didn't break the bank.

However, I do suggest trying it on in front of a full length mirror before you actually purchase it. Sometimes they look good in pictures but not when they are on. I had a dress type in mind for my daughter and when she tried it on it really didn't suit her but the one she eventually got really was perfect for her.

Hope you have a beautiful wedding.

DJ babblefish - September 28, 2006 06:30 PM (GMT)
Thank you so much! I did try it on.. I actually found it in the store and tried it on.. then found the picture on the website to show my friends and family.
I don't know if i should be showing everyone.. but I'm assuming that they will forget about it anyways.lol

yellin4yamin - September 28, 2006 06:55 PM (GMT)
