I've been away for a few days so I don't know if anyone saw this. This child is amazing!

he is amazing. i hope he likes what he does, though. it is sad how so many parents force their children to become prodigys.
I agree with you about some parents forcing their children into things. I have attended some of my grandchildrens' sports events and I always walk away saddened by the parents who are giving their children hell for having an off day. These are 8 and 9 year old children. It is all I can do to keep myself from rushing over and hugging them. However, I can't believe that this child could be this good at such a young age if he didn't enjoy what he was doing. Let's hope that the parents are sensible.

Oh I agree with you there. We tried to keep our son active with soccer starting at age 6, but he wasn't extremely interested after a while. Then we tried music lessons (drums) when he was around age 11 or 12, and he was pretty good at it, but it became a chore to him. It was a battle to get him to want to go, so we finally dropped it.
A year or so later, we took him for golf lessons, and he really liked it.
It doesn't hurt to try different things to let them find what they like best.
