After reading the other LMBO recap, I don't have much of a heart to write mine. SOunds like THE WACHOVIA CONCERT was great fun. I wish I could say the same about LMBO. Although they were good, where I live the people who play the same kind of music are just as good. After seeing/hearing them play with Taylor I think they could use a dynamic front man or woman. I don't mean they were mediocre, it was the whole event that was less than I expected.

It was an odd night for me. A case of seeing doubles. When LMBO first came on one of their members (from where I was standing) looked like a pudgier Taylor. Then later in the evening, Ace's look a-like brother Ryan came out and even LMBO said we have Ace Young here. I even took his picture unsure if it was Ace or not. Ryan is very tall and more drawn in the face. Then later when Ace and Chris came in I wasn't sure if Chris was Elliott or not. He had a skull cap on and has the same kind of facial hair. I went up to him(I could only see the side of his face) and said Elliott I have something for you. (I made a t-shirt) And Chris said I'm not Elliott- I felt like a jerk and said Sorry and then kissed him on the cheek. His skin is very soft even beneath the stubble.

Before this embarrasing incident with Chris, I was outside in back of the building after they scooted Taylor out. (I mean BAM he was there and BAM he was gone. ) I was just checking things out back there and LMBO'S bass player was outside too. He and I were standing in back of a truck. He was trying to text message, and I asked him if Elliott was coming. He said they were all going to New York. I was bummed. I still had the t-shirt I specifically made for E and asked him if he could get it to Elliott. I also made a t-shirt commemorating LMBO and E&T and Ace Bucky Chris. I showed it to him and he said he would bring it on stage. He did take it. Never showed it on stage. But when he and I were conversing it was awkward. he was trying to text and chatting on his cell phone. I told him I didn't want to be a pain in the ass groupie. I also decided that I would wait until the STATE FAIR to try and give the t-shirt I made just for E to him then and there. Bass player asked me if I had a light which I did. I gave him the LMBO shirt and let him alone. As far as LMBO I would have been open to them playing more of their original music. Though they did a good job with their cover songs. Oh by the way even though Taylor was there briefly, the man played HARD! He gives it all he's got. And Ace was kicking ass on DREAM ON. His falsetto was stronger than anything we heard on the AI show. He also plugged Chris' upcoming album and said it was ridiculous! (meaning beyond great) So yes I wish that OUR MAN would have showed. Being it was the last after concert show. Maybe my expectations for a send off party were too high. Thanks for listening. OOSH

Thanks for your great inside scoop Oosh. I think it's easy to build up expectations and have things not work out just like you think they will. I felt that way a little after the Richmond concert and I KNOW Elliott did.

That's interesting that they are going to New York - wonder what is happening there? Meetings with The Firm ? :P

Anyway, I'm glad you got to hear LMBO - I think they're pretty good musicians from what I've heard and sound like really nice guys. I feel pretty good that they are backing up Elliott in Richmond - are you going to be here for that?

Oh no. Elliott didn't make it to the last LMBO show - there's an active poster on the AI Boards who was coming from Denver to see him. I am so sorry for you both. I'm going to Virginia too and I hope that the LMBO band does Elliott justice. We're supposed to love them and all, but some of the jamming on the internet is rough for me - I do think they're good (local talent), but I want Elliott to have the best . Remember, that this was posted by a non-musician, so what do I know? Anyway, I hope to meet you in VA.

Well, they are pretty much a jam band and probably NOT the type of band Elliott will record with, but I think it will be a fun concert. Given the short amount of time prior to the concert - it's probably the best option and we will have a blast I am sure.

I agree Linda. I think it will be a FUN concert and not necessarily the type of music elliott will record. It does not matter to me at all, I wont be fussy i just wanted to see our boy in a SOLO show and have a couple hours of ALL ELLIOTT!!!!!!!!! :rocker:

I can't wait either and I'm sure Elliott and LMBO will be terrific. I'm not expecting any particular style from Elliott at the State Fair concert (I'm going to try to stay calm).

Yes, I have a ticket to the State Fair. I will try and give E the t-shirt I made for him there. I Do like the kind of music LMBO plays. Actually, I think they are at their best when they get into longer jams, and especially that soulful southern, blues, jazz thing. You know, had I not come with expectations of seeing the "STARS" especially our ELLIOTT, I could have,would have tuned into them better. I wouldn't have gone to Wilkes Barre just to see them though. I did thank the bass player for their music when I encountered him outside. I felt like he was appreciative that I acknowledged their work in spite of my desire to see elliott.

Awwwwwwww, I am so sad to hear that E didn't make it to the LMBO show last night. I am sure Chloe and H must have been bummed too!! Glad you enjoyed their show though!!

LOVE your picture with E!!! Yes, some young woman was sobbing cause E was a no show. I tried to talk to her, but the woman who's shoulder she was crying on said that she didn't want to talk. I waited a bit and asked her if she posted on E-train or Yaminions to see what her username was. All she said was that she checked out Yaminions but it seemd it was very infrequent. I let her alone.

oosh, I'm sorry you didn't see Elliott or get a chance to talk to Taylor at the LMBO show. I hope you are able to meet E in Richmond and give him the special shirt you made. But I'm grateful for the scoop you gave us on Elliott flying to New York last night. Anxiously awaiting a contract announcement soon.

hi there - I flew in from Denver to see the concert and the LMBO show - yea, it was disappointing not to see Elliott at the LMBO show, but I always knew that it wasn't a sure thing that any of them would be there. this was one of the reasons I decided to go to the concert again - besides just another chance to see Elliott - really glad I did - had great seats and Elliott was fantastic. anyway, I was lucky enough to be at the Herman's Hideaway show in Denver at the beginning of the month and it doesn't get any better than that so I can't complain!!

ok - so when the heck are we going to hear about about a contract for Mr. Yamin??? I'm a nervous wreck about this.

I over heard a woman sying at the Wilkes Barre LMBO show that the Denver LMBO was the best.
