Title: Boston Legal
Description: One of the best on tv right now!

CathleenSusan - September 27, 2006 06:15 PM (GMT)
Does anyone agree with me? Boston Legal is one of the funniest, most original law shows EVER!

brwneydgirl - September 30, 2006 08:39 AM (GMT)
:ilikeit: My family and I love the show! It is so smart, witty, serious, funny, everything. Love it! I adore James Spader. Shatner's awesome, too. I just love all of the characters and all of their oddities. Awesome writing and acting. It was so frustrating during AI, because I couldn't watch BL because I wanted to vote. I had to tape it every week. I hope I don't want to vote for anyone in AI6, so I can watch BL when it's actually on.

Anyway, it is one of the best shows on tv, IMO. It makes you think and it makes you laugh.

brwneydgirl - October 12, 2006 08:02 AM (GMT)
Another funny episode this week. I just love those guys. :P

CathleenSusan - October 12, 2006 05:56 PM (GMT)
Don't you think the dwarf lawyer (I forget her name) is awesome? I don't know the "politically correct" term so that's what I'm calling her for now! I hope they keep her as a regular on the show.

Remember the blow-up doll of Shirley from a few episodes back? And I laughed my ass off at the two guys in the wrestling ring, although I wish that scene was longer!

I love this show, I don't understand why no one watches it. I guess people just assume that it is another boring legal show. I know that was my impression and that was the reason I didn't start watching it until the middle of last season.

I think James Spader is brilliant in everything he does! And William Shatner - lmao!

Only thing I don't get is the obsession all men seem to have for Shirley. Seriously? Not just Tom Selleck, William Shatner and James Spader, but also two guest starring males majorly lusted after her last season. I really don't understand!

brwneydgirl - October 15, 2006 07:54 AM (GMT)
Oh the Shirley blow-up doll was hysterical. I don't get their obsession either. I mean, I've always liked Murphy , but I don't see her quite like they do. It makes for good tv, though.

I don't know the politically correct term, either, but yes I love her. She's a great addition to the show. I love the relationship between her and Denny. You can always depend on him putting his foot in his mouth, anyway. He just says the first thing that comes to mind, and it is so fun to laugh at him.

I think you're right about people automatically assuming it is a boring legal show. I know that if I had not given it a chance, I would have thought the same. I never watched The Practice, where Spader was before Boston Legal. I've always liked him, though. There's just something about him and his delivery. If I ever need a lawyer, I want Alan Shore! So, I started watching somehow (I don't even remember when, but sometime last season), and I got hooked.

I love Michael J. Fox, so I enjoy when his character is on the show.

Another reason I love the show is how they always seem to incorporate a current issue into their courtroom, sometimes more nonchalantly than others. It makes you think though, which is always a good thing. It makes people consider the gray areas of situations, and not always to judge situations in black and white. I think it is a very smart show.

The best part for me, though, is laughing at Denny and Alan. They're just such goofballs. They say the funniest things, and I die laughing. :rotfl:

surfcity - October 24, 2006 05:15 PM (GMT)
Who knew that Captain Kirk would become such a comedian? I watch it just to see Shatner, although Spader's smarmy Alan is a guilty pleasure. Their wrestling match for Shirley was hilarious! IMO, Shatner steals every scene he's in, though.

Like the dwarf character. She's a pistol. I could see her getting an emmy for this role.

brwneydgirl - November 1, 2006 05:45 AM (GMT)
Wow, Bethany is Denny's daughter. Woah. I didn't see that one coming!

I love Jerry Espenson! He's awesome. I'm glad he didn't have to go to prison. I would have cried. I got a little choked up when Alan was talking about how he was his friend. :glomp: I hope he stays out of trouble though, because how many times can Alan get him off the hook?!

I don't want Daniel Post to be dead! I hope that it is all a mix-up. I love when MJF is on the show.

How about Spader and Shatner in their Halloween costumes?! They looked so cute! :D :danceghost:

desertstargal - November 1, 2006 10:30 AM (GMT)
I love the show also. It's the only show I watch consistently.

Their Halloween costumes are always a hoot and always contain the color pink. Last year it was flamingoes. I loved them this year but who was number 3 girl? Those wigs were too much.. and Alan.. well he was a cutie in the dress.

I didn't see the daughter thing coming either - incest.. yuck. And, I wonder if its true - did she say why she didn't tell him before this? How did the small person react? I missed it after she was between the 2 and Denny said "I;m your daddy!"

That was so odd. And I loved the haunted house thing. I don't want MJF's character to be dead either but I think with the stem cell research stuff getting big attention that it was time to cut the character.

Oh How I Love This Show!

CathleenSusan - November 1, 2006 05:38 PM (GMT)
"Who's Your Daddy?" LMAO!!!

I love this show so much too! It's in my top 5 shows that I do not miss each week.

Alan was totally adorable in that dress, makeup and wig! I loved it when Denny was checking him out right at the end. And the third girl (were they they Supremes? some 60's group I know that) was that new lawyer with the long dark hair. She's the one that seduced the shrink who claimed to have kissed Gina Gershon.

I adore Michael J Fox, and he hails from my home town. I've even paid good money to see him host the Vancouver Symphony three times (you would never catch me dead at a VSO concert otherwise). But I did not like him on Boston Leagal. Can't quite put my finger on it though. But I never ever would have seen that his head had been sold to a haunted house coming - that's for sure!

I agree, incest = yuck! I kinda liked Denny with (forget her name). His daughter? UGH! Hope they never got intimate! Ewwww! Like last week when the son passionately kissed his mother at the end!!

brwneydgirl - November 2, 2006 02:59 AM (GMT)
I can't imagine that Denny had not gotten intimate with Bethany (because that's just who he is), but maybe he respected her enough to wait longer than a day. That is gross if she really is his daughter. :puke:

Alan looked adorable as a lady. He has a pretty face. :P

surfcity - November 7, 2006 10:47 PM (GMT)
Just watched the 10-24 episode (I think our Tivo is full and we missed an episode or two) and it seemed tedious...not to mention disgusting. We kept pushing play to see how much time was left to watch. Boy, I guess they have a stinker every now and then.

brwneydgirl - November 28, 2006 10:25 AM (GMT)
Yay! Boston Legal is finally on again.:woohoo: Who else watched Sunday night's part 1 of 2? I can't wait to see part 2 on Tuesday night. I hope Shirley is going to be okay. If they kill her off, I will protest!

surfcity - December 6, 2006 05:49 AM (GMT)
I can't believe they'll kill off Murphy Brown! (It's taping now, I haven't watched it yet.) I finally put BL on my season pass so I won't miss any episodes.

brwneydgirl - December 6, 2006 06:16 AM (GMT)
That was last week, and she survived. Her and Denny's blow up version of her both made appearances this week. I was so relieved that they didn't kill her off last week. I wonder if the weird guy will be back. He only got stabbed with an arrow, so he could survive.

I felt bad for Bethany at the end of the episode.

How cute was Jerry Espenson bringing Alan a Christmas present. :glomp: Good thing that Denny was preoccupied with Delta Burke, so he didn't get all jealous. :P

:merryxmas1:

Allan Shore makes a beautiful Mona Lisa, wouldn't you agree ? :P

That was sooo adorable and funny! I love love love Alan Shore, and Jerry Espenson is such a cute character. I'm glad that they have him as a recurring character.

I just adore the show.

brwneydgirl - January 31, 2007 04:07 AM (GMT)
:rotfl: Tonight's episode was hilarious! Alan looked so good as Shirley. They make me laugh like crazy. Such a great show!

brwneydgirl - September 17, 2007 06:46 AM (GMT)
Congratulations to James Spader on winning the Emmy for Best Male Actor (Leading Role) in a Drama Series for his role of Alan Shore in Boston Legal! :congrats: I was so happy he won. He's one of my favorite actors...so brilliant in this role. I really adore him, the way he handles himself. He's so unaffected by "Hollywood." He's private, he's quite shy, not seeking the spotlight, but seriously one of the finest actors. I truly adore him, and I LOVE Boston Legal. I can't wait for the new season to start!!! :) :woohoo2:

mike83 - September 17, 2007 11:13 AM (GMT)
He didn't deserve it. His roles are nowhere near as profound as Hugh Laurie or James Gandolfini's. This was also his third win. Interestingly he has never won a Golden Globe or Screen Actors Guild award.

I think even he was shocked he won.

WeloveUElliott - September 17, 2007 12:38 PM (GMT)
I was happy also he got the award. Great actor love this show! :cheerleader1:

He was shocked, but I wasn't. He's brilliant. Do you watch the show regularly? It's one of the greatest shows, and he's really tremendous, and he did deserve it IMO. :P

I can't wait for the new season to start. :rocker:

Yay! Another BL fan! :glomp: Isn't it great tv? It's so relevant, dramatic, smart, and funny all at once. I love Alan and Denny. They are my favorite on-screen duo. I can't wait for the new season...and for the Halloween show. :danceghost: OMG, they always have the greatest costumes! I love them.

That's so funny that you mentioned that, because I had just made a note to myself to either rent or buy that movie! :) I was looking up info about him on wiki and on imdb, and I thought I better see this movie. I never saw it. I see he was in Endless Love with Brooke Shields, too. The only older movie that I saw him in was Pretty in Pink. I loved him as "Steff" in that even though he was sooo mean. LOL. Oh, and I saw Mannequin, too, but not in many, many years, so I don't remember seeing him in it, but I'm going to have to check that one out again, too. I really enjoy his work.

CathleenSusan - September 21, 2007 05:09 PM (GMT)
I am so happy he got the award! I just finished watching season one and two again on DVD and I was blown away by some of his courtroom scenes. Some of his opening and closing statements are so long and the camera never cuts away from him. How in the world does he memorize those speeches every week? And by the end of them he has me believing every word he says. He is amazing!

Oh, I agree. I could never learn his lines EVER. I mean, whoa. And, he doesn't just learn them, but he owns them every week. He blows me away. I want him as my lawyer! :rocker: :P Plus, he has this special way of making it funny at the same time as he's being serious. I love when he bickers (and sometimes flirts) with the judge. :P Such a bad boy. He's just brilliant.

I need to get all of the seasons on dvd...maybe Santa will bring me some of them for Christmas. :P Hehe.

brwneydgirl - September 26, 2007 05:56 AM (GMT)
That was some season premiere! I wish I would have taped it, because I feel like I need to see it again to take it all in. It was really good!

My only complaint is that they changed some of the cast. WTF? Why did they get rid of so many people? :( I'm bummed about that.

CathleenSusan - September 27, 2007 02:58 AM (GMT)
I hate it when a series has a bunch of new people each season. But I guess as we get farther into the season we will get used to them all.

I taped the show last night (it's on after my bedtime) and I will catch up on the weekend. It sucks because I have to go to bed early so anything on after nine I tape and have to find time to watch it on friday night or on the weekend.

Of course I had to peak in here though! I heard that Allan dressed up? And hallowe'en is still another month away! I can't wait to see that :)

brwneydgirl - September 27, 2007 04:29 AM (GMT)
Hehe, yeah CathleenSusan, good ole Alan put on a costume...from the past. ;) He's so freakin adorable. :awe:
Yeah, if it's one or two people, it's one thing, but they changed a lot.
When you get a chance to watch it, let me know what you think.

CathleenSusan - September 27, 2007 05:09 AM (GMT)
I will let you know for sure!

Was he wearing the dress and the 60's wig with the big bow?? That's my guess.

brwneydgirl - September 27, 2007 05:15 AM (GMT)
 Yep, yep! So adorable, I want to give him hugs and kisses. :P

brwneydgirl - October 4, 2007 04:05 AM (GMT)
Cathleen Susan, did you ever get to watch last week's epi of BL? What about this week's? I love the friendships between Alan/Denny and Alan/Jerry. :awe:

CathleenSusan - October 4, 2007 07:13 PM (GMT)
I sure did! I totally forgot how much I love this show. I am starting to really love Jerry - that was so funny when he head butted John Laroquette's character (forgot his name). I like the new girl too, the one with the big nose and accent. She's very sweet and unaffected.

I'm not too sure if I like the other new girl, the tall brunette Alan keeps having trysts with in the elevator.

I've always loved John Laroquette, ever since he was a regular on Night Court. And it's nice that Shirley has a man now :)

I'm glad Alan decided not to have a child with that judge, I really didn't like her character.

brwneydgirl - October 5, 2007 08:20 AM (GMT)
Oh, yeah, I love Jerry Espenson. :awe: He's so good. I enjoyed the new blonde girl this week. The skinny, dark haired one, I'm not really fond of, and she's not right for my Alan. :P I love him. I was glad he didn't agree to have a baby with the judge lady, too...first of all, he's not ready to be that committed if he's having flings with the skinny lady with the neck.

Poor Denny, he's going to be so upset when he finds out that Alan's prediction of Shirley and John Larroquette's character being a couple.

I read that Julie Bowen (Denise) will not be returning to the show (they are currently saying Denise is on maternity leave,) but apparently they didn't renew her contract or whatever. I'm sad about that, because I really liked her on the show. :( It's weird how they got rid of so many people. I liked the dark haired girl who was new last year, who was friends/romantic with Clarence, and she isn't on anymore, Rene Auberjonois is not on anymore, and Brad is going to be on occasionally, but not as big of a role since he isn't employed by them anymore. It's just weird how the cast can change so much over the summer. I still love the show, though.

rooney - October 5, 2007 11:32 PM (GMT)
Just came upon this thread....This is my favorite TV show of all time but I have never seen it during it's current season..can't stay up later than 10pm. LOL...We got Season 1 and 2 from Netflix and now we're just starting Season 3. So I think I'd better stay off this board or I will know everything going on in Season 4. hahaha....

brwneydgirl - October 6, 2007 02:11 AM (GMT)
Rooney, welcome to the thread! I'm glad you love BL, too! :)

rooney - October 6, 2007 02:19 AM (GMT)
Thank you, but unfortunately I won't be able to participate in the conversations since I am just starting to watch last season. I'll always be a season behind you guys. LOL

brwneydgirl - December 5, 2007 06:41 AM (GMT)
Really good episode tonight! OMG, I just love Alan & Denny. :P
