Title: The Bachelor - Anyone Watch Mon Night?
Description: I'm in looooooove
Legal'E'gal - October 3, 2006 05:13 AM (GMT)
Did anyone watch The Bachelor's premiere Monday night. I have to admit, I thought I'd get bored within minutes and turn it off, but was smitten as soon as I saw the prince (can't remember his name!!!) - GORGEOUS, sweet, sincere - a lot like Elliott in those ways. He had the nicest eyes.
Anyway, what did you think of the show? I thought the bachelor is the most gorgeous one I've ever seen, and got a kick out of all the jealous girls vying for his attention. I had a feeling he really liked the very first girl who came out of the limo to meet him (kinda looked like Phoebe Cates from the 80's), and sure enough, he gave her the special rose with the earrings. I was hoping he'd pick her for that - she seems sincere to me (though the tree-hugging thing seemed weird, and I thought he was turned off by that). But I was really perplexed at some of other ladies his picked out... you wonder if it's for ratings. Anyway, it was really entertaining, and I can't wait to see next week!!!
ThankYouElliott - October 3, 2006 02:08 PM (GMT)
I watched it purely for entertainment value, but I always come back to one VERY important question: If people THAT drop-dead gorgeous have to go on National TV on a Reality Show to find true love, then what hope is there for someone like me? :rotfl: :P
chattycb - October 3, 2006 02:11 PM (GMT)
Wow, I'm happy that I am not the only one who loves this show. YOu're right, it's very addicting to watch. The prince's name is Lorenzo (Italian for Lawrence).
I thought it was very funny that he did not choose the 2 women who actually spoke Italian to him. The one girl (Rosella) had the most beautiful eyes.
I felt so bad for her when she didn't get a rose. She took it hard.
The other girl (I forgot her name) who spoke Italian to him sang to
him on the balcony. Geez, that was weird! What a bunch of characters.
My husband can't believe these girls. He says "Can they really be
that desperate?" It's funny what one will do for a free trip and a chance to be on national television.
Being Italian-American and a New Yorker I was delighted with the new bachelor.
I just can't believe that he can't speak any Italian. I mean, his dad was born and bred there for goodness sake. Foreign language study is so important in this day and age. Okay, off my soapbox now.

I couldn't find it. What time and station was it on? Monday night football was on here in PA.

Monday night, channel 7 (ABC) from 9-11 pm.
Only the premiere was 2 hours. Next week I think it will be on from 9-10 pm.

ThankYouElliott, just keep in mind that even though many of these women are attractive, they're often extremely insecure and have major personality flaws to be on a show like this (in my opinion)! Beauty certainly ain't everything, even on this show!!
chattycb, I know, I could hardly believe that he can barely speak Italian! You woulda thought that would have been something his family would have taught him as a child.
YES, Rosella really did have big, beautiful eyes. I thought he was into her when he was sitting on the couch talking to her with those two other girls - did you? I was really surprised he didn't pick her! I did feel sorry for her. She look absolutely crushed.
Can't wait for next week's show! Looks like there's a typical Bachelor-Style stalker girl who writes his name with lipstick on the mirrors. You wonder how much of this is staged. I remember a few years back, there were parts that were obviously staged.

I actually feel that way myself, but when I tell people that, it is just perceived as jealousy on my part! Okay, so maybe I'm a little jealous! But do I really want to fight with 25 other woman on National TV for a guy who's basically a total stranger, albeit a totally hot and rich total stranger?! :P :D
Legal'E'gal - October 4, 2006 10:41 PM (GMT)
I think if we're honest with ourselves, most of us are a little bit jealous of the 'perfect' women we see in the entertainment industry. But we have to remember that women who look like that are not the norm (thank goodness! :P ) Sometimes, when I feel it start to really make me feel "ugly" in comparison, I have to take a reality check. My mom has always helped me with that. If I say to her while we're out, "I feel ugly" or "I feel fat", she always says, "Look around you!" And that often makes me feel better. There aren't a bunch of models walking around this world, but people of all shapes and sizes and ages.... Helps to fix my perspective. Plus, I remind myself that I'm a beautiful child of God - that He made me exactly as He had in mind - one of a kind - and God doesn't make junk!! :D He made you beautiful, too.

You're very welcome!! Though I don't know if it's wisdom - it's just simply THE TRUTH!!! :)

Amen, sistah!!!! :woohoo:
Hey, did you see Lorenzo on the Ellen show yesterday? I was just flipping channels and caught the very end. I wish I could have seen it all! My, he looked wonderful.  (I hope it's okay to comment on other handsome men on the Elliott board... ) She mentioned that she'll have him on again sometime soon. Will have to keep an eye out for that. He's just sooooo adorable!!

Aww...I LOVE Ellen but I'm not sure when she's on where I live. I will DEFINITELY try to find it again if she has him on again! :D

Me, too!
Looking forward to tomorrow night's show. I may tape it and watch it later since there are way too many commercials.

I hear ya about the commercials! I can't wait for tonight's show either! :D
chattycb - October 10, 2006 06:41 PM (GMT)
So what did you all think about last night's show?
Could you believe that dimwit, Erica? I swear the producers
must tell the bachelors who to keep on for entertainment
value because there is no way I can believe that Lorenzo
is really interested in Erica. Did you see the way he looked
at her when she said she judges people? Can one person
really be that snobby? Geez, is that what having a lot of
money does to you? I think she really does think she is
a princess! Treehugger( can't remember her name) is starting
to get on my nerves, also. I think she thinks that it's in the bag
for her. The beach date was weird. None of the girls seemed
to want to make an effort to get to know the bachelor, except the teachr from
Florida and that one girl from Utah (she can't be a Mormon, she is so wild) who
keeps calling him "baby". Can you see him bringing that one home to mama.
I just love this trashy show, I can't help it!
ThankYouElliott - October 10, 2006 07:15 PM (GMT)
:goodpost: I agree with EVERYTHING you said about Erica! :poke:
TxRangerette - October 12, 2006 03:37 AM (GMT)
I just want to slap Miss Erica Socialite....she might be rich, but she obviously can't afford to buy class, ugh!
ThankYouElliott - October 12, 2006 02:32 PM (GMT)
She was still on my nerves for most of the next day!
Legal'E'gal - October 14, 2006 05:41 AM (GMT)
I totally believe that Ericka is a paid actress, like the girl, "Tina", who was on the show several seasons back - it was obvious that girl was an actress when, after she was kicked out, she came back later, acting all crazy. YEAH - Like that would really happen!!
There's no way Lorenzo would have picked her even the first go-around because he'd mentioned to Chris that she was strange, and then after last week's show, with everything she said to Lorenzo, there's even less of a chance that he'd pick her. It's all for the drama of the show. I do hope she gets kicked off this week, though!! It's getting really old.
You know, this season, I honestly can't really think of any girl that he should pick. None of them stand out to me, unlike past years.
But what does it matter anyway?? If history repeats itself, they won't stay together longer than 1 week anyway!! :rotfl: :rotfl:
ThankYouElliott - October 14, 2006 02:16 PM (GMT)
I KNOW he wouldn't have picked her! And the naive part of me says that if the show is REALLY about finding true love and your soul mate, then the producers should butt out! But, of course, it's also a TV show and they want ratings! So, anyway...
TxRangerette - October 17, 2006 03:18 AM (GMT)
Well, Ericka didn't get a rose tonight...but next week's preview shows her coming back to the show...yeah, it's obvious that they're doing this for the ratings!
ThankYouElliott - October 17, 2006 12:34 PM (GMT)
I was SO excited that she was gone until I saw the previews!
chattycb - October 17, 2006 04:36 PM (GMT)
Yep,
Erika just makes for great TV. Did any of you catch Regis and Kelly this am.
Kelly loves this show and usually does a recap on Tues. mornings.
She is hysterical as she acts out all the drama.
Were any of you surprised by the choices Lorenzo made? Poor Gina.
She really wears her heart on her sleeve. During the rose ceremony she looked like
she was just about in tears. I felt so sorry for her. She didn't seem
to get any alone time with the bachelor. I guess you just have to
be pushy and go for it. What was the deal with the one-on-one date.
The blonde (name?) was stunning in her red dress. I was surprised when
he said there was no attraction on his part.
ThankYouElliott - October 17, 2006 04:38 PM (GMT)
I THINK her name was Jamie. I felt bad for her, too. I guess it's better that he's honest now. I would have been upset, too.
TxRangerette - October 17, 2006 08:29 PM (GMT)
I could be wrong..but...it seems like he's leaning toward the brunettes more...don't know, just thinking out loud! He always says it's important to communicate but then he chooses Agnese to stay!
ThankYouElliott - October 17, 2006 08:31 PM (GMT)
I almost forgot about Lisa. I don't think I can handle much more of her carrying on about her solo date with Alonzo!

Yeah, I meant Lorenzo! I don't EVEN know what I was thinking!
Legal'E'gal - October 18, 2006 06:35 AM (GMT)
One of the ladies on 'The View' yesterday (can't remember which lady) said she ran into Lorenzo the other night at some event, and he was with a woman who was wearing a sash and looked like a beauty contest contestant (they showed a picture) -- she was definitely NOT any of the women from the show! Kind of a disappointment to know that he probably didn't end up with any of them... though I know that's how it's gone with all the bachelors in the past.... still, this information ruined it a little for me!!!
And oh, I totally agree about feeling bad for the girl in the beautiful red dress who had the one-on-one date with him.... I almost cried when he didn't give her the rose!! She seemed like a really nice, level-headed girl.
ThankYouElliott - October 18, 2006 12:22 PM (GMT)
Well, that's disappointing. Lorenzo seemed like a decent enough guy. But of course, it's happened several times before.
I almost cried, too. She seemed very nice and "normal" - i.e. not a "drama queen". :D
ThankYouElliott - November 14, 2006 01:52 PM (GMT)
I guess I lost interest, because I totally forgot to watch last night! So, who did Lorenzo choose? :D

He didn't choose anyone. He had 3 dates in exotic locales with Lisa,,
Jennifer, and Sadie: Switzerland, Sicily and forget where else.
I really really wanted to see this one but was distracted with kitchen cleanup.
In the end, though, he sent Lisa packing, and boy was she ever upset.
She took it terribly hard and was really crying in the limo, which
surprised me, because I had her pegged for a cold, calculating,
b***h.
Next week is the episode where they have all the women come back and dish.
They really know how to drag this out.

I sometimes watch this cheesy show lol. Why oh why do I?
Anyway, I'm glad Lisa is gone. She didn't seem sincere at all. Too bad about the Italian girl. I thought he was going to keep her around a little longer.
I missed the home visit he had with the blonde girl (not Sadie), so I don't know how they got along. I like Sadie.
ThankYouElliott - November 20, 2006 12:32 AM (GMT)
I'm still annoyed that I missed the home visits, but I'm glad that Lisa is gone! :D

I am watching right now. This is hard. usually I hate one of the girls left. but, this time I love them both. I like jen a little less though...it's a hard choice.
ThankYouElliott - November 28, 2006 02:55 AM (GMT)
I'm sort of watching. I'm (obviously) multitasking, and my ear is sort of stopped up or something and I don't want to turn the volume up very loud just because of that, so I'm not really hearing any of the conversations, but I AM seeing enough to get a good sense of what's going on! Oh well. :D
