Title: X-Men 3: The Last Stand
Description: Discussion for Fans

I unfortunately did not see the 3rd installment of X-Men until it was released on DVD just this Tuesday. I was in total shock of all of what happened. We know most likely that Jean or the Phoenix is dead as well as Scott Summers (Cyclops). I initially thought Professor Xavier was as well, but I don't think he is. If you watch the DVD after the credits, their is an additional scene where it shows the Professor in a hospital just waking from a coma. The Nurse/Doctor is startled by him being awake after saying Good Morning.
What did everyone think of X-Men 3: The Last Stand? Will their be more sequels or is it meant to be a trilogy?

I think there will be another movie and I'm hoping that Scott and Jean will be back. I hated all the deaths.

I know Professor Xavier is still alive. He was in the Hospital room and said Good Morning to the Nurse/Doctor named Moira. I'm not sure if he was in coma and just woke up or something? This makes it interesting because you wonder A) How did he survive? or B) If he was in a coma, how could it seem like he was at the manor the whole time? Either way, this leaves a lot of questions that still are yet to be answered. I hope they make more films in the future to answer them. Besides, their is a multitude of storylines from the original comic book series as well as the animated version with characters that have yet to be introduced.
Also, Jean identified herself as the Phoenix. Well, according to legend, the phoenix will rise back to life from its ashes. So I'm sure that their will somehow be a connection to Jean in the next movie.

I haven't gotten a chance to rent it yet, but it looks like I should! Then I can join in this discussion!

Another important idea I forgot to add was that the "cure" was not effective as they thought. I remember at the end of the film Magneto was playing chess in the park. Well, you see him make the metal from the chess piece start to move. Apparently, it does not totally take away their powers? Or is it a matter of will? See, their are a lot of questions left unanswered! lol

It wasn't Charles exactly that was in the coma at the end.
If you remember.. when he's teaching his class. He shows a video with that nurse and a patient behind her. Talking about I think if they could pretty much switch minds with the braindead individual... or something like that.. I'll have to watch it again....
So at the end after the credits.. That is what we're seeing.
Charles transfered his mind into this braindead guy's body.

I just watched that portion of the movie again. You are right. Well, I guess he is technically alive, but only in spirit.

I thought X3 was awesome!
The only thing I thought was wrong with it was that they didn't allow time for character development. They had so many cool new characters (Angel, Kitty, Beast, etc) and we hardly got to know them!
But I thought the movies was awesome!

I agree. I really don't think this is the last film like the audience was led to believe. There are so many questions left and they could develop the characters like you mentioned a great deal more in the next film. The could talk about Mutant Registration and the Sentinels or a host of other different story lines too.
Also, I wonder why Night Crawler did not show up in this movie? He is the one who can teleport.

Well I know the actor didn't get along with Bryan Singer (who directed the first two movies), so maybe that's why he didn't come back(?) I don't really know..

I'm ready for another sequel to this already.
