Description: I KNOW there are computer experts here!

If there are 2 different Internet-Ready computers in one house, and one of those computers is hooked up to DSL, and the other one used to be hooked up to Dial-Up but now isn't hooked up to anything, is there a way that the 2nd computer can also be hooked up to the 1st computer's DSL, and if so, are both computers able to be used at the same time - i.e. if 2 people needed to be on the Internet at the same time, could one of them use computer 1 and the other one use computer 2 at the exact same time and get what they need off of the Internet? If the 2nd computer needs some kind of upgrade like an Ethernet card, how much does that cost? I hope that wasn't too confusing! Thanks for the help! Oh, and if for some reason this isn't something that a person is allowed to do, PLEASE let me know ASAP! I have NEVER in my life been in ANY kind of trouble with the law, and I intend to keep it that way! Thanks again! :D :D

You can definitely do it, but I'll leave the technical aspects of it to someone who has actually done it or has the technical expertise to do it.

Here's another possibility you might consider. When I was planning to do some traveling with my aging laptop, I found a nationwide Internet provider with access numbers all over the place for $39.95 for year. They provide no email address and no technical support but I have used it in a number of different states and it is very reliable. When I'm at home, I use it on my second desktop computer. For me, dialup is tolerable when I'm reading forums or just browsing the net. You get 150 hours/month at this rate so if the second computer is going see limited use and you won't be doing downloading or uploading on it, you might find it to be a better solution than setting both computers up with DSL,

If you want the link to the provider I use, just send me a PM.
