Title: The Newest Edition To My Family
Description: Madeline Rose

AshleyPacka - October 16, 2006 06:48 PM (GMT)
As some of you know, last January I got a puppy and after only having him for one short month, he passed away. I was absolutely devastated. As I wrote to Elliott, and shared with all of you, his journey on AI was my distraction from my pain. Almost one year later E is embarking on a new journey in his life and so am I. I found the one I've been looking for :) It was hard, but the moment I saw her I knew she was meant to be mine. Her name is Madeline Rose, Maddie for short.

(Please excuse any shots with the puppy pad in the back. She had just had potty success  )

My mother was so taken with the litter that she too wanted one! She purchased her sister, which she named Sophie. I'm so glad Maddie can grow up with her sister so close!

Oh she is just the cutest thing! What breed is she or is she a lovable mix?
Enjoy her for many years to come.

Yep,
That's what I thought when I saw her. My dog is half Sheltie and half chow chow.
But she looked exactly like your puppy when we got her 10 yrs. ago, except
that mine is all sandy-colored with no other markings. Geez, she just melted my heart. Now I want a puppy. I have puppy envy. Give her a hug from me.

How cute!. I love her colors. Perfect size. Potty success :woohoo:

AshleyPacka - October 17, 2006 08:29 PM (GMT)
Her potty successes are few and far between  She's still a baby, only 8 weeks, so it will be some time until she really has the concentration and attention level to pay attention to what she's doing. When she first comes out of her crate she'll run right for the pad, because it's starting to be routine, but if she's in the middle of romping around with her sister the puppy pad is a far, distant memory

If anyone is in the Florida area and is sincerely interested, her brother is still available. He has Maddie's build, but Sophie's lighter coloring. We were very tempted to take him as well, but I think two puppies is quite enough lol

AWW what a doll baby!

Don't worry about "potty training". Shelties are VERY smart. The herding breeds are the smartest of all breeds. However, with those "brains" come a price. LOL They are ALSO VERY ENERGETIC and if allowed to get bored become destructive!

Make sure you have PLENTY of chew toys on hand or your shoes and socks will suffice LOL (never give her a rolled up sock to play with, she'll think all socks are fair game). Get her good and tired A LOT!

You have plenty of energy so you will do great with her!

She is a little beauty.

Awwww, so cute Ashley! Make sure you hide your leather shoes lol.
