Title: New Song
Description: Chained to the Rhythmn

Gogo - October 28, 2006 06:57 PM (GMT)
Chained to the Rhythm

Sold like a slave to these notes, chained to the rhythm
Soaring the sky for my breath, to sing the song
And when I sing, and when I sing
I知 freeing my soul and yours

Watching the waves - see the direction
Listening to sounds that give me a clue
What is my path, what痴 my destination
Trying to sing for you.
And when I sing, and when I sing
I知 freeing my soul and yours

Riding the waves of my existence
Feeling the power within
Telling the truth, showing my feelings
Showing the world what to believe in

Seeing the land coming closer
Is it friendly? Is it not?
Will they hear me, can they hear me
Trying to sing for you.

Sold like a slave to the notes, chained to the rhythm
Soaring the sky for my breath, to sing the song
And when I sing, and when I sing
I知 freeing my soul and yours

I really like that...I was thinking it could be something about someone who is forced to sing something that is beneath them to make a buck...Like Elliott if he won or came in second and was forced to sing "Do I Make you Proud" or something similar.

Interesting take on it Lise. It started coming to me at 3:30 a.m. I don't know where it came from but it just started. More on it later. I meant to put it in the Lyrics section can you move it. Thanks Gogo

Finally found your song, Gogo. Couldn't find it when I looked a few days ago...

It's beautiful! I can hear Elliott singing
"And when I sing, and when I sing
I知 freeing my soul and yours"
in that glorious voice of his!

Yes - that is an interesting take on it, Lise - I wouldn't have seen it like that at all. I rather see something of the uncertainty of first flight; I mean, knowing how to fly, how to soar, but needing to find one's own feet - or "wings" as it were, first.

I hope that's not completely off what you intended, Gogo - but that's the beauty of any art.. It's open to interpretation.

I like that song a lot! :D

I saw it like Lise too.
It was so bad when they stuck him in that beige blazer and then to make him sing " Open arms"
He would have sounded great on either "My Destiny" or Taylors song, but would we really want E to have to subject himself to that???
, just to have the title of a runner up or Winner.
I think not.
He is right there, look at Chris, he finished 4 th.
I am sure Elliott's album will be greatly anticipated. Many people had him as their second favorite .
And everyone knows that boy can sing !!
so I believe a well produced, tasteful CD will go over extremely well
:)

I am in such a good mood today :)

Thanks everyone. I'm enjoying everyone's take on it. I can certainly see how you would come to your conclusions based on the whole AI experience. IF, there wasn't a song for Taylor (or the winner that they had to sing) what would your take be then?

Courtie you took it outside the AI experience, I find that interesting too.

Just to give you a clue I had two takes on the song.
