Title: Sean Lennon's "Friendly Fire"

I thought I would mention him here, as he is a very talented musician, but is ultimately lost in his father's shadow. Which is tough, because Sean is extremely talented.

His sophmore album "Friendly Fire" was just released about a month ago, and I absolutely love it. You can definitely tell he is John Lennon's son, with his almost nasally, yet sweet voice. The lyrics, I think are easier to divulge than in his debut album "Into The Sun." The album is supposed to reflect heartbreak, and loss, which I think it accomplishes very well.

However, if you are not a fan of The Beatles, or a fan of more of the Indie/Emo type music, then I wouldn't recommend this to you. But for the others, I recommend it. There are reminisces of The Beatles days, Sean sounds like his father, but with more sadness then his father ever held. Songs such as "Dead Meat", "Wait For Me" and "Headlights" are very good.

So I recommend it.

Here's the video for "Dead Meat"-

i LOVE sean lennon...i have "into the sun" which rocks, but i need to get the new album...thanks for the review.

p.s. julian lennon has some good songs also...i don't know that he's done anything in awhile...his style is different than sean's, but similarly you can hear the father/son connection between him and his dad.

Yeah I really loved Julians Valotte album.

I do think Julian was much more like his father musically wise then Sean.

so yeah, i downloaded a few of the songs off of "friendly fire" and sean's writing is beautiful. he definitely got some of the brilliant artistic genes from his father...not to compare him to his dad or anything, cause i'm sure he wants to be recognized as sean lennon the artist and not sean lennon, the son of john. but regardless, he does remind me of his dad...which is always a good thing. (john lennon was my first love...even if he did die before i was born...he caused me to fall in love with music).
