Title: Hey You Guys Have To Check This Guy Out!
Description: He's AWESOME

ElliottisTrueBlue - November 19, 2006 01:00 AM (GMT)
His name is Venice Maki, and he's sorta the opposite of Elliott, actually, because instead of being a white guy who sings soul, he's a black guy who sings rock! But he's really really talented and I'm hoping that he will become famous one day. I saw him in concert and he's one of the sweetest, humblest people you will ever meet and he's so funny! Here's his myspace site:

Thanks, I'm always interested in discovering new talent! :D

Awesome! When I first heard him sing, I kinda had the same reaction as when I heard Elliott sing. WOW!

One of the best things about the :xmasetrain: is learning about new artists! :rocker:

noira - December 2, 2006 10:49 PM (GMT)
mmh..I can't say that I have learned of many, other than the one you posted and Remy Shand. I am always open for suggestions though :)

This guy's not a new artist...he's been around for quite a while, and his name is Jeff Scott Soto. Anyone remember a rock/metal group called Talisman from the mid to late 80's? He was their lead singer. He's the voice behind Mark Wahlberg's character in the movie Rockstar. He has performed with Queen (he's a huge admirer), and he is currently the new lead singer for Journey. This video is from his own DVD and was taped at the Queen Convention in 2003. It's nearly 10 minutes long, but it's an outstanding performance. If you are into Queen you'll love it, and ladies, he's real easy on the eyes, too.

Never heard him sing with Journey....all I know is that nobody can top the incredible Steve Perry, his voice is amazing!

Here's another clip from YouTube with a beautiful medley that includes Send Her My Love and a little bit of Bohemian Rhapsody (he blows Constantine out of the water on this one, btw!)

...and check out this one, too. It's the intro to the Prophet's Song by Queen. Jeff is nothing short of amazing on this one.

Pretty darn good but I'm not a reliable opinion because I'm too biased.

Team Perry forever :rocker:

Heck I'm the same way with the guy who now is the lead singer for Queen. Team Freddie Forever LOL :santarotfl:

nikkib703 - December 29, 2006 02:04 PM (GMT)
Of course, no one is going to sing those songs like Steve Perry, but IMO Jeff is a much better fit for the band than Steve Augeri. When they played in Baltimore back in November (I'm still kicking myself for missing that show!) Jeff got rave reviews from critics and fans alike. Queen really missed the boat when they chose Paul Rodgers over Jeff, but Journey's got him now, so it's all good.

ElliottisTrueBlue - December 29, 2006 10:44 PM (GMT)
True true, Steve Augeri wasn't very good for them.

He is better than Paul Rodgers, I agree
