Rangle's thinking behind this must be that it would help deter a war. I don't agree with it either.

Well, with two draft age sons, I certainly don't want the draft reinstated.
But in his defense he is a war veteran from the Korean Conflict.
While I don't necessarily agree with the Congressman I guess his point is that if our leaders had children who were of draft age, they would seriously
weigh whether or not our nation would go to war.

We all know how they would be "excused" from the draft.

I'm not sure who's worse...Rangle or George Bush. Anyone remember the old CCR song "Fortunate Son"? It pretty much sums up the draft and what a lousy idea it is. There's a line in the song, "....I ain't no senator's son". Always said that this war would turn into another Vietnam, and sadly, I was right.

My son just turned 18. I hope this is not instituted!

My kid got his draft registration, nearly the day he turned 18.
It is scary times these days
I am a military brat, grew up the child of a army officer and love our troops very much..
that said, I am also a mom and fear for our sons and daughters
I just hope that the draft will not be necessary right now :no:
