Title: Crazy For The Curls!
Description: Is it just me??

Sk8888 - November 20, 2006 07:36 PM (GMT)
This has probably been talked about many times, but I've been away for awhile.

I love Elliott's curls!!!!!

Just had to say it.

ThankYouElliott - November 20, 2006 07:41 PM (GMT)

You can NEVER talk about the curls too much! I LOVE the curls! :thud:

lindagt - November 20, 2006 07:46 PM (GMT)
yeah, we've talked about it a lot - but hey - he's cute! I think the curls give him a softer look - and I really like them. I also love the hair in the concert photo taken by CA24 that's on his myspace. Both of those looks give him a dreamier look than the others and seem to be low maintenance enough for him to manage.

ElliottCat101 - November 20, 2006 07:53 PM (GMT)
Elliott + Curls = :thud:

You are NOT alone my friend!

catielyn - November 20, 2006 09:21 PM (GMT)
I have to say, I    Elliott

but.....

I hate those curls!!!!

I hope that when he has the Disney special that he gets a stylist. He definately needs one to reach the viewers who didn't follow American Idol.

O thank God! I thought Iwas the only one on the planet who didn't like the curls. I don't HATE them, but I like his GQ look sooooooo much better.....suit, tie, hair a la "If I Can Dream", "A Song For You."Thats the look I love the best, but I still think he's adorable. I just don't love the "I needed a trim 2 weeks ago" look. But like all things Elliott, I am sure I will grow to adore the curls.

I have to agree with Chloe. I love everything about this man, but my fav look for him is the shorter hair. The suit, tie and that whole look during AI. He was smokin hot in those last few weeks of the show. How about the night of Trouble. To me that was the ultimate Elliott look. :etrain: 4life

He reminds me too much of two guys I went out with, with the curls. One I was nervous about because I met him through the girl he was living with, and the other was a vegan who didn't eat root veggies because they'd been pulled violently from the ground.

The look we all love is too high maintenance. Maybe eventually he'll have some good barber chasing him around all the time.

Hey Chloe and all you curl-haters...(kidding!!!)....I too love the GQ look and how his hair looked at that time.

But, sadly, it seems like we are not going to be seeing that Elliott anymore.

And, I do NOT like the extra POOFY look that happens to his hair when amatuers are styling his hair.

So, I guess I prefer the curls over the POOF, but I would take the hair he had near the end of AI over everything else.

How's that for playing both sides? :D

Sk8888

ElliottCat101 - November 21, 2006 12:14 AM (GMT)
Oh I know exactly what you mean by "the poof". I didn't like that at all!

And personally, I don't think the short hair - like the way he had it for Hollywood week and all the early rounds of the comp - looked too great on him.
I loved it once he started letting it grow out! And now that he has curls I think he looks better than ever, but I would still settle for his end of AI hair.

But I kinda think that if he gets rid of the curls it will either go back to poofy or super short, both of which I don't like.

parsimmon - November 21, 2006 01:04 AM (GMT)
Curly hair. I never had curly hair, and I love to see curls. I don't know what goes into caring for curly hair. I suppose it responds well with low humidity and would have a tendency to frizz in a humid climate. I did read that the tunnel cut helps with that, but that may only be for girls. I wonder how Elliott's low maintenance hair will do while he is in Atlanta?
I can't imagine how hard it would be to keep that styled look at the end of AI with the rate Elliott's hair grows. That could really be frustrating, and he's flying all over the country and keeping a really tight schedule. I think the easiest is the best, but the easiest is the short haircut. And I never really cared for that cut, I like longer hair.

AvivaDove - November 21, 2006 01:57 AM (GMT)
I think the curls are cute. I liked the tailored suits and hair from the end of AI. The ''If I Can Dream'' look was especially hot to me. I'm a little old fashioned. I don't like the way he wears wrinkled tee shirts and backwards baseball caps, especially on stage. My upbringing would be to dress up for the fans. On the other hand, it's all about his singing. He's the best singer I've ever heard, so I over look his outfits or hair. Even if he did a concert with a shaven head and a raggedy outfit or with hair to the ground in a dress, I'd still pay top dollar to see/hear him!

Well, not for season 1 and 3 (Jasmine and Nikki=:eww:) but especially for 4 and 5, I think the 3rd placers were just better! Carrie had a great voice, but on the show she was as boring as heck (note I said on the show ) and Elliott, well come on, he's better than Taylor! 3rd place is the new first now in the AI world :D :bunny:

loveelliott - November 21, 2006 03:31 AM (GMT)
I agree with the previous posters. I really loved Elliott's hair from the time he did "Somebody to Love" to the end of AI. It was when his hair started growing out that I really got hooked on him-hated that short short hair. His singing got me at the beginning. The curls are okay for a casual "off the job"look, but I think he looks best with his hair a little shorter. It looked fantastic at the end of Idol and it was good during the tour. I thought the "Richmond Magazine" cover was cute, didn't like it for the Lakers's game, too poufy. Maybe if he got someone to give him a good cut, he could style it himself. Sometimes the cut makes the hairstyle. With practice, he can do it! :) I do like to see him dressed casually, but not alwsays in tee shirts-nice botton down the front shirt, top buttons undone and nice fitting jeans(whoa). Sorry, got carried away. Forrgot my age. Anyway, I can't wait to see him on tour! :thud: :thud:

whew!!!!!!!!Oh yeah, "Trouble"! Same category as ASFY and IICD. Oh and what about "A House is not a Home??????"
So here's the order of my preference, beginning with the least
1. "just got a new really short haircut" Hollywood week
2. "I really need to get 2 inches cut off my hair or it will go"POOF" for the ssb
3. "if I don't trim these curls, I may have to record"on the good ship lollipop"
4."A Hairdo For You , oops , I mean A Song for You, If You're looking for hot hairdos, You've come to the right place,

But in reality, it so doesnt matter, nothing could compromise his voice! I still can't wait for his cd, and hey, here's an idea, Maybe it should come with interchangeable covers, so everyone can have the "look" they love. After all, we'll all be getting the "sound" we love!!!

Let's say the curls are when he wants to go incognito.

parsimmon - November 22, 2006 03:21 AM (GMT)
I like the curls, but, in my opinion, looking over my Elliott album, his best look is the styled hair that is so contemporary today. It makes him look young, hot, sexy, and like a star. Elliott cleans up real nice, and I hope we have this look on his album cover and at Christmas. It's so youthful, and TODAY. I'm not sure it's an R&B look though. Seems too polished.
I also think he has beautiful eyes and bone structure, and I think it stands out with the shorter hair and the clean shaven look, or goatee. But that said, the look that makes me hot is his latest look. I've always been attracted to that look.

musicmovesme - November 22, 2006 04:37 AM (GMT)
Maybe it's just me, but I had a hard time thinking of the Colonel Sanders, Burl Ives, Three Musketeers, Robin Hood, Shakespeare, Wolfman Jack, "beatnik" look as "youthful". Elliott Yamin must be one of the few men on the planet who could manage to make a goatee seem hip and sexy (Leo DeCaprio looks okay in one too). Of course, the chinstrap look was really aging. I guess growing up in the 70's I still associate a little longer, unstructured hair with youth and it has been making a comeback lately.

I can understand Anthony Federov wearing the spiked up hairdo. He probably has totally straight hair and can't wear it any other way if he tried. Elliott has this gorgeous wavy, shiny hair--a real asset if he can find just the right way to wear it. It must be a heck of a job getting it to go straight. I liked the look on Elvis night, with a short flat-top though, especially in profile like on EYForever's avi. There is something magnetic about Elliott's personality that makes him extremely attractive in different styles and of course the voice is killer.

I have never liked a goatee. But I do see it's popular right now. I guess since Don Johnson made it popular.
I grew up with the longer hair, so Ace, Bucky, Elliott..and anyone with long hair is the look I naturally find attractive. However, looking at the popular younger men today, spiked hair is in and so are goatees. I didn't know that longer hair is making a comeback, but I'm glad to hear it.

This is bringing back some funny memories. I am soooo old that.....
I remember when the Beatles landed, and ALL adults at the time thought they were a pack of "long haired hippy damned dope addicts" LOL LOL!! Look at how short their hair really was on the original album cover!
Elliott does have really good hair, that can be styled in a million different ways. I t appears to be really thick with a lot of body, and I think that type of hair ALWAYS needs to be neatly trimmed, whether the style is poofy, long, short, curly, straight, or shaven! I would imagine he should get a good trim every 2 weeks or so. Hey Gypsy, maybe you could get a job as his personal haircutter!!!!!
Just sayin....

LOL, I just remembered when Elliott was put on haircutting restriction. If curly hair is cut right, and then left alone it really is easy to keep groomed. It's when we try to treat it the same as straight hair that we get into problems. I learned this from taking care of my granddaughter's hair. I used to brush and comb it after shampooing...and voila...FRIZZ! Then I went to curly hair sites on the web, because I didn't have a clue how to care for her hair. I learned to let it dry and finger comb her hair, the less I did to it the better groomed she looked.

Eyess2NKiss - November 22, 2006 06:47 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I'm learning that too, from my 2-year old daughter's "Shirley Temple" curly hair! Except, she's teaching me by refusing to let me touch it anytime!! Problem is, the underneath curls get matted!! There's no easy way with a 2-year old, that's for sure!!
Keep those curls, E!! Bring on that trendsetting hairstyle of yours!!! Ahhhh ... I love a man with a plan!!! :heartbeat:

I don't mind the curls, but would love to see how he looks with them brushed off his forehead. When I had a pic of Elliott with the curly hair up on my screen, my 7 year-old was like, mom, what happened to Elliott? lol She prefers the straighter hair. She had me scroll up the page until she found a pic of him without the curls. It was so funny. Anyway, I like just about all of E's hairstyles, except the buzz cut he sported when AI started.

Your right, funny the memories that stay with us. I remember watching the news (in black and white of course) with my sister and Dad. They showed a shot of the Beatles waving from the airplane and the crowd of girls just screaming. Dad was in the military, he got up from the chesterfield, turned the TV off, and as I recall said something like…God help the USA, the British are coming.

I recently joined the E-Train, and haven’t yet looked through all the photos in the “Thudalicous Thread”, I can’t seem to spend that much time there due to “hot flashes”, but so far I prefer the slightly shorter hair. Would have to see more photos of Elliott with curly hair. I don’t like the backward baseball caps much. Haven’t yet decided on the goatee.

I do like how he is changing things up, but think he will decide on something low maintenance so he can concentrate on the music. Your friend Gypsy should definitely brush up the Resume, there may be a job on the road with Ellliott!!! Gypsy please send me postcards.

Oh May - that brings up memories! I remember how disgusted my parents were with the girls screaming over the Beatles. I was still a little girl, and I remember going up to my bedroom after watching them on Ed Sullivan and making "silent" screams... And I had not heard the term "Chesterfield" since my parents used that word long ago. :rotfl:

sherwood - November 25, 2006 05:05 PM (GMT)
My parents always called a sofa a chesterfield...my dad's from England. I did too, until I realized no one knew what I was talking about so I switched to sofa and couch.

Hummm
:mademyday:
In my original draft I spelled airplane as aeroplane (as I would normally do) but changed it to airplane. It never occurred to me that chesterfield would be noticed. I can't get used to the sound of sofa, it sounds like some kind of organic health food.
