In my 20's, living in NYC, it meant seeing a movie and eating Thai food, and hanging out with your friends who also from dysfunctional families. Sorry doesn't too idealistic.
Living in CA, I have to go back to Pittsburgh for Christmas, and visit my cousin(my best friend in life) and her parents, my mature friends, and to see the snow. Now going on 40, I appreciate the tradition of snow, carols, midnight mass, and just eating a warm meal with nice people.

:merryxmas1: to everyone!
I actually ended up having a 3 day weekend where I live due to the major snow storm we had. We got quite a bit of snow for this early, so many people stayed home from work and school. Now it definitely looks and feels like Christmas outside.
In so far as family tradition, everyone gets together for Christmas Eve for a big dinner and social gathering. Pretty much the same thing for Christmas Day too. We pick names out of a hat and buy Christmas presents for one another so everyone gets at least one gift from a family member. I'm really looking forward to Christmas. Now all I have to do is get through one more week, finals, and then no more college....well for a month at least lol.

You must not live that far away from me, we had the whole 8 feet of snow, dangerously icy roads, power outages, nothing in town is open so please stay at home type of thing for a good week. Now all the snow is almost completely melted and we are having 50 degree weather again! It defintely looked like Christmas for quite a while there! Next time, I JUST want the snow with NONE of that other stuff!
I hope Finals are going okay. :glomp: Too bad spending time on the E-Train isn't a pre-requisite for getting an A! Darn professors! I hope you're not TOO stressed out, at least it'll be over soon, for a month, anyway! :danceghost:
:merryxmas1: to everybody on the :xmasetrain: ! :kaoxmas1: :kaoxmas3: :kaoxmas4: :kaoxmas5: :cheerleader:

I usually have everybody to my house for Christmas. But this year, we will all be be at my Aunt and Uncle's house. My sisters and my cousins will be there. We usually have a blast together. My aunt will cook a large Italian meal and we'll all have some vino. This is the tradition I grew up with except it was always my grandma's house. She's no longer with us but we like to keep the tradition of having everybody come together and celebrate holidays together.
I'd like to wish everyone on e train a Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah and all the best for the upcoming year. May the e-train continue to roll and may Elliott have an absolutely stellar career!

Just wanted to stop by and wish everyone a :merryxmas1:
My family is all over the place but I'm stopping at my brother's house this year along with my sister and her family. The family is getting smaller each year but it's great that we can still get together.

All of our family is within an hour's drive of each other.
But driving into the city on any holiday could take 2 or more hours.
That's the part I dread.
We have a traditional Italian-American
Christmas Eve at my sister-in-laws.
That means fish and more fish--shrimp, octupus, stuffed clams, spaghetti and clam sauce. then more pasta, then meatballs, then eggplant. Yo get the drift.
Then it's dessert time. All of the women in the family are great bakers so it's a source of pride that nothing comes from the bakery.
Cannolis, cream puffs, cheesecake, cookies.
It's a great big food fest.
Christmas Day it's my turn to host, but there will only be 10 of us.
I want to wish everyone a most joyous
Christmas and may the coming year bring us all good health and happiness.
