So I decided Elliott wouldn't want me to bash kat or Taylor to bits, so I simply made a list that I could exclude them from...mwaha!!!!

Cool I liked reading that

Oooh, you wrote that? Very nice. I agree with much of your list. I really like your analysis of Elliott's voice. I just can't believe his sense of timing, phrasing, riffing, EVERYTHING is natural. People train for years to master techniques he has honed with ZERO training. In my opinion, he's the best male vocalist I have ever heard. (And this comes from someone who has witnessed a musical gamut...everything from Broadway, to Hanson shows, to every local, district, and state vocal competition in Florida and Pennsylvania.) I have heard some talent in my travels, but NOTHING compares to Elliott. If I could listen to one voice for the rest of my life, it would be his.

I agree with most of f what you wrote . And thanks for including some of my ( lesser known) favorites on your list - I love Jennifer Hudson and personally feel that she has earned a much higher spot :) And I still listen to Ejay Day's " My Girl"!
That poor guy really got robbed .
Great selections - RJ ? I must have missed his prowess:)

Hi Jlynn. I agree with you, almost, on your top 15. The reason why i would put Elliott in the number two spot, is because I prefer is style more than Clay's. I agree with everything that you said about Clay, but he lacked soul- and for me that is a must. I can only listen to only so much of Clay before becoming bored and tired of it. On the other hand, I can listen to Elliott all day everyday, which I do. I know, it might seem that I'm biased, but that season, I really wanted Ruben to win (I didn't vote though), because I prefered his style. And you're right, I can't remember all of Ruben's songs- really all I remember is Sweet Home Alabama, I was very impressed.
Like you, I have no motivation. I just recently started listening to E's songs again, while I play solitaire- before, it was just too painful for me. Now, when I listen to them, I get angry- because he sounds soooooo good! That last song, I Believe In My Soul? Oh my God! He sang that song brilliantly! And as I listen to all of his songs, I'm asking myself, why can't America hear this? He really IS the best male vocalist, EVER, on AI to date.
Anyway, I'm still struggling with whether or not I'm gonna watch the show tommorow. Just to see Katherine, all smug and smiling, I don't know if I can handle it.

Jlynn Babe~
I'm just waiting for the nasty responses from Kat and Taylor fans. Funny, cause I don't think there will be any. :) When you stack it up like that, it's obivous who should have won this season. Painfully obvious.
You know I agree on putting Clay ahead of Elliott. But Elliott, I think, has the chance at a better career than Clay cause if Elliott is one thing, he's NOT cheesy like Clay was. Elliott has a real vibe to him hence I think he's the one that may be able to survive life post-AI and be better for it. The others need the show. Elliott needed to prove himself and I believe he did just that.

I agree with much of what you said. I liked Clay and Ruben at first, but later, I supported only Ruben. I found his voice to be more "commercial," for lack of a better word than Clay's. I actually do still remember all of Ruben's performances!
With that said, Elliott has totally replaced Ruben (and Bo) as my all-time Idol favorite. He is the only one of the three that I can listen to over and over without getting tired of him. In fact, I haven't removed my Elliott CD from my car in three weeks, other than to remix it with some of Chris's songs.
Elliott IS the best male vocalist ever on AI.

tybar, I agree with you completely on Clay and I, personally I prefer E over Clay's tone, but I was trying to be unbiased as possible. It's hard to be unbiased or know what's bias and what's truly his talent. you know? But yeah, I rpefer E.

amen dulce! yeah surprisingly kat and tay fans are really silent. I know a good chunk of them have read it, and usually they rip the crap out of me, but I don't think there is much they can say....

I do appreciate Kelly Clarkson's voice and all, and I have to say that I didn't get to see her perform, I only have her mp3s. But IMHO, her version of "I surrender" was very bad. Her voice was breaking as she was singing (and especially when she tried holding her notes for several seconds), the nice tone she normally has didn't seem to make its presence felt with that song, and she stayed clear of the high note somewhere in the chorus. I actually thought Anthony Fedorov did a better job singing that song than Kelly.
That said, Kelly was pretty dang good with a lot of her other songs. But just for that one "I surrender" song I wouldn't put her at #1.
