:woohoo: Can't wait!
Is it strange that I only know 4 of these teams? Maybe when I see their faces I will recognize the others...
AgentScully - January 16, 2007 09:50 PM (GMT)
Heh. I only know four of the names too. LOL
I know Joyce and Uchenna, Rob and Amber, Kandice and Dustin, and Mary and David.
Like you said, maybe if I see the faces I'll remember the names. :bunny:
ElliottCat101 - January 17, 2007 12:17 AM (GMT)
ah I looked at pictures and I remebered two more teams: Kevin&Drew and Charla&Mirna, but I know I did not watch either of their seasons entirely..
AgentScully - January 17, 2007 03:35 AM (GMT)
I looked @ the CBS website and the only other people I saw that I remembered was Charla and Mirna. But that's it.
Rob looks sooo good. And Amber looks beautiful. So thrilled to see them again. :woohoo:
Some people said that they took away the legitmacy of TAR. But, I don't care...lol. I'm the nerd that loved them! Go Romber!! :cheerleader:
ElliottCat101 - January 17, 2007 06:29 AM (GMT)
took away the legitimacy?!?!
Evs! They rock and everyone knows it (deep inside)!
realitymom - January 17, 2007 09:42 AM (GMT)
Yaaaaaay! LOVE TAR! I am so excited to see the All-Star Edition. I am hoping it isn't a bust like Big Brother All-Stars (I was disappointed anyway).
Looking foward to seeing many teams again, especially David & Mary! I hope they win it all this time. Romber is back...ugh. :poke:  Hopefully they won't last too long. I sincerely hope a team wins that hasn't won before. Can't wait!! :woohoo:
AgentScully - January 17, 2007 04:14 PM (GMT)
The only team that has actually won was Joyce and Uchenna. I don't know why they didn't pick more winners.
realitymom, While we don't obviously agree on Romber, we do agree on David and Mary. Loved them. Loved her espically, she was a doll. I hope they can go far this round.

Really Scully? I thought Romber won the AR season they were on. Ooooops! Since you are a Romber fan, did you see the new reality series they are doing? It is about them playing Poker....reality show following them in Vegas. Think it is called 'Rob & Amber in Vegas'? Something to that effect. I saw a commercial for it last night & thought of you! Is that weird?
AgentScully - January 18, 2007 01:31 PM (GMT)
No, Joyce and Uchenna won when Romber were on.
Nope, defintley not weird. :rocker: I saw that they had a new reality season going on but do not get the channel it comes on. What channel is it again?
MSN Reality? Or something like that. Or maybe nothing like that at all.
ElliottCat101 - January 18, 2007 06:24 PM (GMT)
hmm..Two David&Mary fans.. Interesting...
RealityMom, what do you think about the Beauty Queens (Kandice and Dustin)?
Triceradon - January 18, 2007 09:24 PM (GMT)
Out of all the teams, I'm shocked that Kris and Jon didn't make it onto All-Stars. Shocked. Shocked Team Guido (Joe & Bill) were there.
At first I wasn't sure about the mixed team, but seeing how they announced it on The Early Show, I think it's okay... although I wasn't a fan of Eric and Jeremy at all.
Kind of surprised that John Vito & Jill were picked for All-Stars, truthfully. But I'm pleased. I was rooting for them in their season.
Danny and Oswald. Cool, calm, and collected friends. I think they're definitely All-Stars worthy.
Uchenna and Joyce. One word: YAY
Kevin & Drew... Cool.
I think the hardest thing watching this season will be the first elimination... unless of course it's Rob and Amber, then I'll just be ecstatic and can watch the rest of the season without really caring who won (even if it is Team Guido.... yikes). But, who knows, Rob and Amber might've changed the way that they race. I think they're cool as far as people go (I saw their televised wedding), but when they (mostly Rob) get into their competitive mode...... it's not really pretty and I don't agree with a lot of his tactics.
I really don't want to dislike THEM because if they do win, I don't want to be devastated by the whole thing. I try not to envelop myself in television shows as much, ever since Big Brother: Season DNA (which season was that? The season with the Four Horseman). I was never so depressed in my life when certain events unfolded the way they did. Figured it wasn't good to be that involved. But anyway!
Any one of these teams could have changed, especially the ones in the first season (Kevin/Drew & Bill/Joe). Already John Vito and Jill have, no longer dating. But, hey, we'll see how it goes.
I liked Dustin and Kandice. Glad they're back. I also liked David & Mary too. Is that odd considering that they were on different sides?
Whoop-whooop! Charla and Mirna. I'm glad they're back.
The only people in All-Stars that I was rooting for to win are David and Mary, Uchenna and Joyce, John Vito & Jill, and Dustin and Kandice. The others I'm just "okay" with. I like 'em, just wasn't rooting for them to win.
And since the winners have already won, it won't make a difference about whether I'm "throwing this out into the universe" or whatever, but based on skills and on previous seasons, I think the top four will be Teri & Ian, Dustin and Kandice, Team Guido, and Rob & Amber. Jeremy & Danielle are hard to call since we haven't seen them in action, together.
But this is some stiff competition and other factors DO come into play (Yield, non-eliminations, the new Intersection thing, plus just plain old taxi drivers). Those four are likely NOT to be the top four though (seriously, this is just me guessing, I haven't even peaked at spoilers, so you're safe :) ). Just those are the strongest I think, on face value from their previous race experience. But I do expect Charla and Mirna to do better this season than they did in their last season.
But, everyone can do better, going into it knowing where they went wrong and whatnot. Though those people in earlier seasons might be at a slight disadvantage since the newer seasons have changed some rules. But I don't think it'll be that great of a disadvantage.

The intersection is when two teams have to team up to compete together as a four-person team (basically) until they get a clue that states otherwise.
In this past season, David, Mary, Lyn, and Karlyn teamed up, Dustin, Kandice, Godwin, and Erwin teamed up, and Rob, Kimberly, Tyler, and James teamed up.

They already received a nice house and SUV from the ladies at the View!

Who recieved a house and a car? David and Mary? If so- good. That was very nice of them.
How many kids do D&M have?
EC- I know you weren't asking me, but I like Dustin and Kandice. Not sure if you already knew that or not...lol. Seems to be, so far, we're the only people that like Romber.

Rosie O'Donnell did that! She raved about David and Mary. I forgot how many kids that they have.
I loved the Korean brothers from the Bay Area, who David and Mary befriended.
Rosie also gave Mary and David tickets to a cruise line, the Asian brothers got tickets ,too. :rocker: :rocker:
AgentScully - January 22, 2007 07:03 PM (GMT)
The Cho brothers were my fave team! Loved.them. Glad they got a trip w/ David and Mary. I wished they had brought the Cho brothers back for All Stars. Ah well.

yeah you told me you like the BQ's, and I'm glad you do! Romber and the BQ's are the only teams I really like on this All Stars edition. There are a few teams that I am somewhat neutral towards, but most of the teams I either do not like or do not know at all!
I still do not understand why people don't like Rob and Amber.. They're so great! :woohoo:

Could not STAND the Beauty Queens Ec! Hated the way they played the game. It is OK to be competitive, but it doesn't require you to be dirty about it. I only liked one half of the 'Bama team. The one lady was nice, the other one had a huge chip on her shoulder. Wish the Cho brothers could have won it all if not David & Mary, just because they were good people. I love to see nice people finish ahead of the meanies!
AgentScully - January 23, 2007 07:32 PM (GMT)
EC- Aww, you don't like David and Mary? They are so cute! Hee. I loved when she got on to him.
I think I can understand why people don't like Romber. Or at least the RO in Romber. Rob races kind of dirty and that puts people off. But it doesn't put me off. :thud:
ElliottCat101 - January 23, 2007 09:06 PM (GMT)
no, I don't like David and Mary at all! I mean, I understand that they're nice and all, but they are *not* good competitors! Nobody in that "6 pack" (Bama, Cho's, David&Mary) deserves to be on All Stars, IMO. David&Mary and the Bama ladies were slow at everything and ALWAYS in the back. If it wasnt for the Cho's, both of those teams would have gone off a lot sooner.
The Cho's bothered me the most because they were capable of doing well but refused to!! The Cho's could have done really well if they hadn't purposely held themselves back so they could help Bama&David&Mary continue the race long after they should have been gone. And how did they get repaid for their kindness? Bama dumped them!!
They were horrible racers. Really nice people (aside from that one Bama lady), but horrible racers.
*phew* sorry guys! Rant over! :P

I think the reason they brought back David & Mary was because they were so popular this past season. And people who weren't watching the show for the earlier seasons want to be able to root for someone they know (or at least see familiar faces). Dustin & Kandice were a great all-female team, so that's obvious (but not everyone liked them). And David & Mary, I think, were the most "popular" despite them not being that great at the racing aspect. So I don't blame The Powers That Be for casting them in All-Stars. They want people to tune in.
While I liked Erwin and Godwin (glad they weren't eliminated the first... half-leg, I guess?), I do think they took their "alliance" a tadbit far. There's no reason to wait for the other team and jeopardize your spot in the race. Alliance is also sharing information like telling them what flight is best and whatnot or where the cluebox is... but sitting around waiting? That's lunacy, in my opinion. I think it might just be a greater risk at one of you being eliminated if you're bunched together.
Even David and Mary insisted on waiting for 'Bama. Lyn & Karlyn were the only team of the 6-pack who didn't wait (if I remember correctly).
And in Lyn & Karlyn's defense, it was one of them who constantly said "don't wait for me, 'cause I won't wait for you." She spoke it upfront but they insisted on waiting (then again... did we actually hear her tell them or she just told us she told them? Hmmmmm). But isn't it really Erwin & Godwin's fault for being eliminated? And not following the Chos on the leg that the Chos were eliminated was a smart move on 'Bama's part. Seriously,, all those times they stopped for directions in that episode? ....I think the Chos deserved to go. What are you listening to when someone tells you where to go? And then someone else? And someone else? And someone else?
If 'Bama continued to follow, they probably would've been eliminated. I think the Chos would've beat them.
Wow... I have a lot of opinions on TAR, don't I? I should write a blog on my MySpace, lol
Say, has anyone here ever applied (if you're old enough)? Or when you are old enough, will you apply?
