Description: What's the difference in them?

I don't know if this is posted anywhere else but have a question.

OHIOGUY are you out there???

I own an ipod shuffle that my son bought me a couple of years ago. I want to upgrade to a bigger system, one that has play list things like that.

Is there a big difference between Apple's ipod, Microsofts Zune or the others I've seen at the store?

this oldie needs HELP

I'll start in with basic info Tofu. If you plan on using or have used iTunes to download many songs to your iPod then you'll want to stick with the iPod family or wait for the really fancy new iPhone coming up which includes phone, camera, internet, iPod all in one - or wait a while on that till the price comes down. I think that all MP3 players have agreements that limit you to particular exclusive online purchasing.

For me, I like iTunes and all it offers so I'm sticking with an iPod. But if you're not a fan of iTunes or the iPod design, you might want to check out the others. I think the price is a little lower on the others as well but I don't think they have near the simple elegance of the iPod IMHO.

Thank you movin.

I like my ipod. Anything I could figure out how to use on my own I'm impressed with. I don't have a "technology gene"

Go with the iPod. It's the best player and the easiest to use. Very instincitve.
The full Ipods, with the video option, are top quality, and the smaller Nanos are awesome, as well.

The iPhone will be a bit pricey for its specs, and won't hold much music. it will also tie you down to a Cingular Plan that will probably cost you a thousand dollars per year.

Apple has hinted they may introduce a new iPod player later this year; rumors are circulating we may get a Beatles version around SuperBowl time.

Apple direct is the best place to order, since they have free shipping and free engraving.

Question to the iPod-savvy: Is there such a thing as overcharing your iPod? Every 'dock' player I own automatically charges my iPod while it plays music. But, I worry that I may be overcharing the battery and ultimately breaking it. Any info on this?

I'm considering buying the 80GB IPOD Video model. Currently, I play MP3s on a Creative Zen Micro 5GB --- works great. And I do audio and video on my Palm Treo 680 using the Kinoma player. Not bad and I can play my Elliott videos from Season 5 after converting them (or downloading from YouTube) in FLV format.

MC, we bought one of these for our daughter's Christmas gift - it's the only thing she wanted. She loves it - the picture quality is amazing! It took my husband quite a while to figure out how to download movies onto it (and he used to be a computer programmer), but other than that, we are very pleased with the purchase.

I took the plunge and got an 80GB Video IPOD.

One word ... WOW!

I love it.

I also looked at the Zune (with a bigger screen) but I've been burned too many times by Microsoft Handheld devices.

Thanks for the recommendations.
