Title: The Storm Versions... Have You Guys Heard Them?

Rdragon - January 28, 2007 04:53 AM (GMT)
I didn't know that it was released until I typed in Elliotts name on iTunes. The troubling storm one is the best imo, and wow, is it CATCHY! Brilliant, brilliant vocals on it.

siba - January 28, 2007 05:34 AM (GMT)
OMG!! :woohoo:
I can buy them at Japanese iTMS!!!!
Thank you for letting me know!!!

lalimom - January 28, 2007 05:39 AM (GMT)
I just bought the "Troubling Storm." It's great! Elliott sounds awesome!!! Thanks!

Janizzle - January 28, 2007 05:40 AM (GMT)
Wow, thanks for sharing! I never would've thought to just search on iTunes!

planegirl - January 28, 2007 07:59 AM (GMT)
I just bought all 4 versions. Elliott sounds wonderful Maybe this will hold me over until his single comes out.

etrain4life - January 28, 2007 09:17 AM (GMT)
I just bought all 4 versions. Had heard all of them previously, except for "raging storm", and have to admit that I was a little disappointed by the "raging" version. Elliott's vocals were overshadowed by a really poor mix of production. I have always thought that the "troubling storm" version was the best, so for you guys who can only buy one definitely grab that one.

Ok, anything E sings is great with me but I'm truly wondering of all times why are these being offered on itunes now? He just announced his single and CD and now these appear....and I'm betting this song is not representative of the music on his CD. I hate to be pessimistic....but I hope someone isn't being opportunistic. After all this time, why now? I'm just a bit concerned that some people or new fans may go there and think The Storm album is THE new album. Off my soapbox now....

agree totally - and they are NOT representative of what will be on the new CD.

ohioguy45780 - January 28, 2007 12:40 PM (GMT)
It looks as if these are BP "FEATURING" E. Yamin.
I don't think these are being pushed or promoted at all anywhere.
Definitely not representative of the sound I'm expecting.
Poor timing, anyway.

Elliott!fan - January 28, 2007 12:57 PM (GMT)
what is especially confusing (at best, misleading at worst) is that when you do a search for elliott yamin on itunes not one, but FOUR of these songs come up listed under his name as if they are some new recordings of his that of course weren't there before--as if they're 4 new songs by E, and it doesn't clearly indicate in the song listing that it's a bp release that he's featured in in these 4 diff demo recordings.

when i saw this in dismay i went hmm...  not cool. very bad form and coincidently bad timing. misleading for fans who may quite rightly think this is Elliott's much talked about and anxiously awaited for new material.

I have not seen one alert come up for this, thank God.

My choice is NOT to buy for now. I am waiting for Movin On and his new
CD. I don't want these songs to take away from Elliott's CURRENT dream.
These songs were done in the PAST. I'm going to leave the past in the
past and MOVE ON to the present and future. JMHO

I 100% agree nana. I too will leave the songs alone unless I hear otherwise from Elliott or his team. The silence from E's camp will imply all that I need to know.

I agree with you Nanasetta. I will anxiously await the new single "Movin On". Can't wait til Feb. 13 :bounce:

I am not buying either. There is a comment on iTunes from someone who cares. Bottom line was do not reward by buying.

Thanks for the update. I'm going to get my Elliott fix. I thought it was odd that the same song is offered in different mixes though. I never saw that. Maybe it's too early in the morning, but I can't hear the difference between Sudden Storm and Troubling Storm??

Personally I'm glad to able to get a little fix.

I don't feel like BP is being opportunistic in the negative sense of the word. I feel he is just another artist/writer with dreams of his own. I don't believe it's about getting rich just getting his song out there and maybe now is the time. Not knowing either him or Elliott personally and not knowing the agreement between the two it's tough coming to any conclusions. So I'll stick to the postive ones.

I'm going to download the music, and wait patiently for the next. 16 Days away :).

edited to add: I don't see it hurting him in anyway. When his single comes out and is well promoted I think of all the other non AI music fans he will reach out to. Those not searching ITunes for his music :)

I agree with itslate.

You can listen to the entire album at:

http://cdbaby.com/cd/bigplanz2

The songs stop just a little before the end but you get much more than the usual 30-second snippet.

Also on this page, it states:

All proceeds will go to charity, primarily the Bush-Clinton Hurricane Katrina Fund.

On first listen, I liked "Quiet Storm" the best. I will listen again before deciding which ones I will purchase from iTunes.

Generally I would not take the time to respond to anything like this but let me clear up this matter.

The Storm was originally going to be released in August of 06, however at the request of “E" and The Firm it was not. This was a tough business move because we knew we would not raise as much money for charity later on and lose money for the advertising and press release that was done. This song is for charity not for profit. It's sad that people can't accept the fact that there are genuine people in the world. I know I don't need to justify myself or actions to anyone but when people question my intentions about my relationship with "E" is sickening. I was making music and recording "E" prior to AI so of course his talent was obvious to me way back then. Also, as stated on my website the views that are expressed on those songs are Big Planz's and not to be attributed to "E." Stop speculating about me because you don't know me or "E." You simply see what you are allowed to see and believe what you want to believe. I waited until the first of the year as I promised him and the firm. Better yet, ask Lise what happened because she knows firsthand and played a big part in this mess. But of cousre know one wants to hear that either.

Also, speaking about integrity it's ashamed the way some of you guys wrote me off without knowing the facts. All of a sudden, I'm the bad guy, but I'm the one that supported "E" from the beginning and will continue to do so.

Best regards,

Big Planz....

I don't feel I bashed you in any sense of the term. Nor did I question your integrity on this matter. I was merely questioning the release of The Storm at this time. For those who have posted here, I don't believe any of it was meant to bring any harm to you. Just fans questioning the release, plain and simple. Most of us here do NOT know you or Elliott personally. But I do believe there are many here that support E 100% with his music. And there are those here that do know E and have met you as well. Personally, I am in support of the Hurrican Katrina fund and I did purchase a copy of The Storm for that reason only. Just because someone questions "timing" etc. doesn't mean they are questioning someone's intergrity.

Thank you for your clarification I really appreciate it! I have made every attempt to let people know that this material is Pre-idol and not something new. It is not indicative of his solo material. His voice is an instrument and he simply allowed me to use it to express my lyrics. And "E" knows I am appreciative of that and I'm sure he feels the same way about me.

Best Regards,

B.P.

As fans of Elliott-you are right most of us do not know him. And most of us do not know went on behind the scenes. And I would guess not many really want to know.

Our common thread is the love of his voice and anticipating what type of music he is going to bring us. Everyone is entitled to speak their minds and state what they feel.

I do not see where anyone judged integrity. Just timing. At the same time, you are also entitiled to do what you feel is best.

However, your implication of "big mess" may only bring more speculation, imo.

I hope you do well with The Storm and that the Katrina victims get the additional aid they so rightly deserve.
