Title: Staying Positive
Description: Elliott's new path
nanassetta - January 28, 2007 02:54 PM (GMT)
I read this this morning. It made me think hard about how I am going to handle
ANY negative responses to Elliott's new and upcoming music. Just wanted to
share.
By thinking about positive things, we can change how we feel about a situation and about ourselves, too. Now, life has more promise, more joy.
I want Elliott to experience all the joy that he can. Reviews and critics can be
harsh. My choice, IF this were to occur, is to not respond. I want to spread
all the good news I can.

Great post, Nancy. I agree. I will stay positive. There is no reason to do anything else. I know that everyone has different tastes so if anyone's review does not agree with mine, I chalk it up to that it is their opinion. On the other hand, if someone writes something great, I will thank them.
I have a feeling that if Elliott is happy with the CD that he releases, I will also be happy with it. He has introduced me to music and to artists that I would not have otherwise heard. Now I love listening to them. I'm willing to open my mind and just experience the music.
Negative energy is draining. I prefer to remain positive for my own sake and for those that I love.

totally agree Nanasetta and Georgiafan - I don't think E will give anyone much cause for negative reviews, but the nature of the beast is that there will be some. Best to ignore the negative and reward the positive.

Totally agree....there are varying opinions out there and best to stay focused on the positive. There are so many things to celebrate about the upcoming releases and they are not going to able to everyone because of varying music tastes. But as with other timeless artists, I feel Elliott will appeal to mult-generations and will be around for a long while. We'll be celebrating CD#16 before you know it!!

That's exactly how I feel as well! If Elliott likes this CD, I will like this CD!

There probably will be some negative reviews (there always are). It’s part of the entertainment industry. I personally ignore critics that are purposely vindictive and appear to have no knowledge about an artists’ craft.
With reference to Elliott’s “new path” There is also the reality that Elliott is young and starting a career in an industry that can sometimes be really nasty. He will make occasional mistakes or make a foolish decision and may be scrutinized in the media.
I’ll keep positive, I believe that Elliott showed his true self during his AI experience. He appears well grounded with emotional intelligence, and when he does slip up on occasion I can excuse it.
It’s been my experience that the best lessons learned were learned the hard way.

I will always keep it positive for Elliott. As far as critics go, the good will outweigh the bad by a huge margin. I really believe that he has something HUGE planned for us and the rest of the world. I can't wait!

We need one of those little jumping ovaries with a sign that reads “Stay Positive” or something.

I always liked Elliott’s face (AI and after). But because his features are not typical or conventional I sometimes wondered what type of products he could endorse.
The new photos being posted really show off his classic features, and personally I’ve gotten used to the longer hair and think it will certainly appeal to younger women. His new style has a boyish charm and romantic appeal that I think young women will find enticing and young men may try to emulate . I’ve never followed fashion much, but I can see Elliott endorsing a line of smart semi-casual clothing for young men.
Can anyone else see endorsement opportunities on his path?
musicmovesme - January 29, 2007 12:11 PM (GMT)
May, I agree. The new photos show E would make a great model. He doesn't have conventional features, but more importantly he has artistic ones that grab attention. His emotions come through well in pictures. I can see him having endorsement deals for clothing (hats, shoes, jeans?).

I totally agree, no matter how great, you just can't please everyone.
Re modeling: Although he's a real cutie, I hope he just sticks to his music.
lindagt - January 29, 2007 12:45 PM (GMT)
Well - the important thing about his ability to communicate emotions through photos - this is just another great marketing tool for his music yes?
And "dancing ovaries"? Crack me up - I'm gonna have to use one of those now :rotfl:
musicmovesme - January 30, 2007 02:00 AM (GMT)
Jumping ovaries? That's pretty apt.

I'm definitely staying positive! I agree with what everybody else has already said! I just can't wait for February 13 and March 20! :woohoo:
